The Earth is the lucky third planet from the Sun and the largest of the solar system’s four terrestrial planets. It is the most suitable place for human beings to live because it has adequate sources of everything essential for human beings. Predictions about the end of the world have been denied before. However many people predict that 2012 will be the end of our world. According to Mayan’s calendar, the world will end in the year 2012.Thus is why NASA as the organization that investigates on astronomy tries to find another planet for human beings to live in if the Earth really ends in 2012.From all the perspectives there are a few obstacles that human beings need to overcome in order to live on the new ‘Earth’ which are the preparations for survival on it, existence of other creatures and the adaptations of human towards the planet.
Surviving on the new “Earth” requires a lot of preparations to be done in order to overcome any obstacles. According to “Genetic Engineering,”(n.d.) it would be a big challenge to find a volunteer who are willing to take the risk to travel to the new “Earth”. This is because of the high possibility to be infected by diseases as well as high probability to crash with other elements in space. Oxygen is human being’s basic need. However, excessive oxygen consumed by human beings may lead to oxygen toxicity while lacking of oxygen will result in hypoxia( “Will we live”,n.d.). Besides, there are a lot of elements in space such as meteor and star which are harmful to the human beings. The limitation of transportation technology makes it hard for human beings to travel to the new “Earth”. “Could we survive,”(n.d.) proposes that human beings have to create space ships that eventually multiply the speed of h...

Earth has served as a good home for humans for many years, and will most likely
Taking leaps off the edges of cliffs doesn’t sound like a good idea; the chances of making to the other side is too low. It’s not worth the risk to do something scary, who knows what’s on the other side? The discussion relates to the argument whether major exploration is worth the risk. The risks for major exploration are too dangerous to face. “Why Exploring the Ocean is Mankind’s Next Giant Leap” by Philippe Cousteau, “Stinging Tentacles Offer Hint of Oceans’ Decline” by Elisabeth Rosenthal, “Remarks at the Dedication of the Aerospace Medical Health Center” by John F. Kennedy, “Living in the Dark” by Cheryl Bardoe, and “Is Space Exploration Worth the Cost?” by Joan Vernikos support the idea that major exploration is not worth the risk.
For years, authors and philosophers have satirized the “perfect” society to incite change. In Brave New World, Aldous Huxley describes a so-called utopian society in which everyone is happy. This society is a “controlled environment where technology has essentially [expunged] suffering” (“Brave New World”). A member of this society never needs to be inconvenienced by emotion, “And if anything should go wrong, there's soma” (Huxley 220). Citizens spend their lives sleeping with as many people as they please, taking soma to dull any unpleasant thoughts that arise, and happily working in the jobs they were conditioned to want. They are genetically altered and conditioned to be averse to socially destructive things, like nature and families. They are trained to enjoy things that are socially beneficial: “'That is the secret of happiness and virtue – liking what you've got to do. All conditioning aims at that: making people like their inescapable social destiny'” (Huxley 16). Citizens operate more like machinery, and less like humans. Humanity is defined as “the quality of being human” (“Humanity”). To some, humanity refers to the aspects that define a human: love, compassion and emotions. Huxley satirizes humanity by dehumanizing the citizens in the Brave New World society.
Since the beginning of time, every species has been faced with their greatest trial in life: survival. Humans as a species have become masters of defying death. Even faced with overpopulation, itself the result of successfully defying death and sure catalyst to the downfall of a population, we as a species have nevertheless learned to cope and continue to reproduce and thrive. As individuals, each human being possesses one of the greatest wills for survival in our natural world. Our societal views of the value of life and the fear of death, our intellectual dominance, and our physical adaptability allow us to cling to life under the harshest conditions.
As a country we need to start investing more money and research into space technology. Programs currently exist for this effort, but the potential for research and progress is limited by a lack of funding; compared to other government funded programs, aerospace funding is pitiful. Continued research in space technology is a necessary step in our growth and development not just as a country but also as entire human race. If we are to achieve this goal, it is necessary to increase funding for space research and technology and consider the possibility of colonizing outer space. If we limit our existence to the planet Earth, and continue to drain the resources on this planet, we will destroy the only home we have.
The existence of life – Aliens, beyond our planet has been a controversial topic for several centuries, and is a debatable issue even today in the 21st century. What is our topic you may ask? Aliens, Do, Exist. According to theoretical physicist, Stephen Hawking, it would be improbable for life not to exist somewhere other than Earth. This is a bold claim, but there is evidence to support this statement. The evidence we seek is in the many Alien occurrences we have experienced throughout human history.

Personally, I think the trip to space is not worth it. We’ve destroyed Earth beyond our imaginations could ever take us, and taken this world although it’s not rightfully ours. If we colonize space, we will only do what we’ve done to Earth: eradicate it like we have done to Earth. Resources are running low, but the answer to the problem may be a matter of global distribution. We are able to produce enough food for the entire world, but much are wasted, so many still starve, and some to death. The alarming side of humans were revealed when World War II (and earlier) started. Torture and abuse were hurtled upon innocent lives and many harmless people suffered and died. As of 2006, Paris, France, had a population density of 21,000 people per kilometer2. If everyone lived similar to this, we wouldn’t have the problem of living space. How is Earth rightfully ours? It isn’t. It belongs to all living creatures on this planet, yet we have the mind to abuse animals and use them for testing of cleaning products. Is this what we – what you want to happen to a possible space colonization?
It is within man’s blood and nature to explore, and space is our next New World. Man’s first achievement in space travel was the launch of the Sputnik on October 4, 1957. For the next decades, space travel was roaring like a rocket, fueled by man’s desire to explore, man’s desire for knowledge, and man’s desire to beat his enemies. However, these impulses have died out as the well of government funding has been diverted to wars and debts, and the interest of the American people has been diverted to wars and debts. Amidst all these issues it is debated as to whether or not space travel is worth the money and the attention of scientists, particularly since humanity faces so many issues on earth currently. However, because of the past inventions, current services, and future benefits, space travel is indeed worth the money and attention of governments and people. It is within our hands to control man’s advancement, and space travel is the next venue to do so.
For quite some time, life on earth has been nothing but peaches and cream for several people and because of people who live a non-sustainable life, it has left others with an indistinct outlook on earth’s future. Sustainability to me is doing things that will help prevent harmful things from happening to the environment now and in the future. With the support of the sustainability and more quality ways of living, the Earth Charter is gradually introduced. Through key research I will explain what the Earth Charter is and why it was founded, describe one of its four parts along with the goals and overarching philosophy, and share the impact it has on my life now and in the future.
With issues like climate change, and population overgrowth, our species faces the risks of major extinction (4). Climate change has been a man-made problem of recent years that threatens our planet. It will take huge mitigations from current and future societies to even come close to reversing climate change. Not only that, but our population has been growing at an extremely alarming speed. At our current rate, our species may not be able to survive for much longer. This is where space exploration comes in. With the recent discovery of water on mars, and the finding of Kepler-78b, it is possible that mankind can prolong our existence. The possibility of interstellar travel seems to be an option or even a necessity if we wish to continue living. Populating another planet could help solve the population crisis and climate change simultaneously. Though, it seems we are not at that point currently, which is exactly why it is imperative that the government increase funding for space exploration. Now, even if inter-galactic habitation isn’t possible, space research helps us protect ourselves from asteroids and other threats, and could also be used to find other planetary resources. Nonetheless, it seems space research is of utmost significance if we want to continue living as a
The earth is considered as one of the most beautiful planets in the universe. It is the only planet in our galaxy that has enough water to support life. Unfortunately our planet is suffering due to many problems which should be solved before it is too late. The major problems that are facing our world today are population, pollution and animal extinction.
Do aliens exist? For eons, mankind has pondered over this peculiar question and a revealing truth has yet to be answered. However, one thing is known for sure, the discovery of intelligent alien life outside of Earth would provide support to prove and/or disprove fundamental beliefs that have been held for centuries. In any case, the discovery would serve as a cornerstone for humanity to make the quantum leap in understanding the purpose of our existence. Based on numerous examples, it is impossible to deny the existence of extraterrestrial life outside of Earth. Reportings of sightings, ancient civilizations beliefs, and scientific proof from scientists and astronomers are all key factors that contribute to this statement.
One of the most common unanswered questions scientists find themselves asking is "Is there life on other planets?" Since the first famously documented UFO sighting in 1947, the idea of extra-terrestrial life has been debated almost non-stop. The subject has inspired many TV programs, such as The X-Files, and films (Mars Attacks, Independence Day, and the Men in Black films to name but a few). Scientists have come up with many new ideas and ways of trying to either prove or disprove the existence of life elsewhere.
