Superman V. Batman: Who is Greater?
The most well known Superheroes from the DC universe are probably Batman and Superman. Many times, hardcore DC comic book fans dispute over who the better superhero is. Many like Batman for his gadgets and others for his looks, while others like Superman for his powers and abilities. I would personally say that Superman is the more capable and better Superhero.
The main factor that tells me that Superman is a better Superhero is that fact that he actually has powers whereas Batman has to rely on money. Superman has many powers such as: Extreme strength, invulnerability, heat and x-ray vision, super breath, and flight. Batman on the other hand, has no powers and without his billionaire status, would have never made it as a superhero. In a scenario where Superman and Batman were both dirt poor, Batman would just stay as Bruce Wayne and Superman would still be able to continue his hero work because his powers would allow him to.
Since both are super heroes, they both have to have weaknesses. Superman’s weakness is very simple; get some kryptonit...
Let’s discuss a little bit of comic book history for starters. The most iconic superhero in all of American comic book history has got to be Superman. He was created near the beginning of superhero comic books and debuted in Action Comics #1 in 1938[1]. He would remain as the blueprint for many superheroes for years to come as the atypical white American male. But as the years go by there were comic book heroes that came out that go against this archetype such as Wonder
Superman experiences many stages on the Hero’s Journey cycle, like challenges and temptations and Abyss. He experiences these stages in his journey so that he can become complete and accept who he is. He experiences temptations and challenges when he meets Louis Lane which made him want to show off and make his true identity known. He also has trouble fitting in on Earth. He doesn’t feel comfortable hiding himself and trying to be two different people at the same time. He also feels the stage of abyss when he metaphorically dies and Louis Lane dies.
During those ages when we are just a little kid, we dreamt to be a superhero that could protect the world from being attacked or destroyed by enemies. We always worship to the superheroes that we liked when we watch the superheroes movies. Not only that, we also even act as them by using a scarf, tie on our necks and crazy around with our friends. Recently, I adored with two kinds of superhero movies after I watched them. Those movies are The Kick-Ass 2 and The X-Men 2 which mainly attract teenager’s attention nowadays when they plan to watch a movie. However, there are many differences between these two superheroes movie that we could see from their abilities, costume, and even their operation when they fight criminal.
Society favors the outlaw hero because we relate with that character more. We see ourselves more so in the outlaw hero than in the official hero. The outlaw hero has the child like talents that most of us wish we had as adults. To civilians it may seem that the outlaw hero lives more of a fantasy life that we all wish to have. Superman’s image has remained unchanged over the years. A blue suit accompanied by boots, a belt and cape have always been the Superman style, along with the Superman emblem on his chest. Superman’s real name is Kal-El, a descendant of the Kryptonian family of the house of El, with his father known as Jor-El and mother Lara. Krypton was discovered to be in the last seconds of life due to the coming supernova of its sun by Kal-El’s father. The other members of Krypton did not believe Jor-El could not tell others of his answers and examinations. Jor-El promised that neither he nor his wife would leave and with every last possible choice eliminated, Jor-El would send his newborn son to the planet Earth. Kal-El then crash landed into the care of Jonathan and Martha Kent, two farmers in Kansas. He then adopted the Kent family name,...
Superman gives hope to the people. Superman was created by two Jewish immigrant teenagers during the Great Depression, who believed in the American dream. Superman reflects a time of depression.
Batman and Captain America the superheros without any real superpowers. Batman and Captain America are Marvel and DC's biggest icons fighting crime for the greater good. Batman A.K.A The Dark Knight and Captain America A.K.A The Winter Soldier are two of the most badbutt superheros nothing can stand in there way, but what if they were against each other? Well then you get a legendary fight! Let's compare the two.
While on the surface both companies seem to be two sides of the same coin, there are a number of differences between the two companies that have allowed each to coexist while also providing comic book fans characters, story arcs and lines, and adventures that are unique from those of the other company. Just as the debates over whether Spiderman is better than Batman or whether Captain America could beat Wolverine in a fight will endure, so too will the influence, popularity, and legacy of Marvel and DC comics.
The origins of Goku the main character from Dragon Ball Z mirrors the origins of Superman from the comics. Both characters are aliens. Goku comes from a warrior race known as the Saiyan’s while Superman comes from the technologic advance race known as the Kryptonians. The fathers of both characters were known as the best of what they did. Goku’s father was known as the strongest Saiyan and Superman’s father was known as krypton’s smartest scientist. Additionally, when both characters were babies they were sent to earth in space pods right before the destruction of their home planets. Goku’s planet was destroyed by an evil emperor while Superman’s was destroyed by the planets unstable radioactive core. Once they both landed on earth they were
Superheroes have been around for at least 90 years. The first superhero comic book came out in 1933 about Superman. Since then, there have been tons of superheroes created and two of the most popular superhero “universes” have been made. These two “universes” are called Marvel and DC. Many people have different opinions on these two universes and it even begins in arguments and debates; however, Marvel is the better “universe” because they really took superheros to the next level. Marvel came out with more and more creative superheroes as the years went by. Marvels best superhero is the Incredible Hulk because of his changing ability, physical abilities, and work efficiency.
“It’s a bird, it’s a plane no it’s Superman!” I’m pretty sure we’ve all heard this before, Superman is a superhero that was created by Writer Jerry Siegel and Artist Joe Shuster in 1938. Superman “Kal-El” is a human like alien from the Planet Krypton, that was sent down to Earth as an infant. Given the name Clark Kent by his new adopted parents, he learned to keep his powers a secret, until the day he needed it most to save his planet and loved ones. Superman is a very famous and well known superhero, he is also an inspiration for many people.
An age old argument between major superhero fans is who is the one that above all the numerous others. Traditionally the hero with the most power tends to rank the number one spot. However, when you delve into the true definition of what a hero is you tend to question your loyalty to the “big name” superheroes. The number one superhero should be the one that fits the description of a hero exactly. A hero is one that goes beyond human limitations to reach a helping hand to one in need or in danger forging their own safety and convenience.
Superman has had many alterations by American artists throughout the years. In the year 1938, Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel sold the well known American Icon Superman to DC Comics. They created this character as high school teens in 1933. In a short period of time Superman was being seen from newspaper strips to television programs, films and video games. Siegel grew up loving science fiction to the point of writing stories and submitting them to publishers only to be denied; this did not make him give up. Shuster also had a passion for science fiction stories and when he met Siegel in 1931 they instantly connected as they both had a very strong taste for the genre. One might portray Superman differently than the other but Shuster and Siegel originally created him to wear a blue costume, red cape, and a red and yellow “S” shield on his chest. Some changes made by artists include modifying of his costume by adding gloves and sometimes short sleeves and differences of his face and body structure.
When growing up as a kid you pretend and choose to live up to your all time favorite superheros. There are dozens of crime fighters in the world of superheroes, but two of the most famous are Spider-Man and Batman. Both of them are very different, but they also have many similarities in themselves. From the hero with a sidekick, to the hero all for himself, will show the true characteristics of the heroes and the world of trouble they go through to protect the city, and themselves.
If I were to ask you who would win in a fight the Justice League or the Avengers, you may say the Avengers while your friend says the Justice League. Marvel and DC have been in constant battle over which company is better, and we all know the obvious answer is Marvel. They have a better style in writing their comics than DC does. They have way better movies than DC does. Marvel also, in my opinion, has way better superheroes too. Although I love DC with all my heart, Marvel is just a better franchise and does a better job of telling the stories of its superheroes.
... or donate the money to the government. But they choose to be a hero. This shows they had same masculine attributes that man should do such things. After they become a hero, both of them had changed their style. For Iron Man, he become a little bit arrogant and batman become hiding his emotion. Both of them achieved different masculine characteristics which heroes should be well in physical fitness; heroes must attracted many woman to love; feel famous all over the world. Also, power should be given to heroes such as they should have exception to escape from law when they are doing the correct things. As a hero, they are not using the special power from god, it only based on what they can create. Without the suit, they just a simple person like you and me. People will trust them when they do the things in an correct way that they are helping people escape from fear.
