Computer science has evolved productively ever since the first computer systems were first manufactured. Ever since I received my first computer I have been always fascinated on how the computer works, and the mechanics behind computers. The second important mechanic linked to the computer is the internet, the internet is essential for today’s society, the way we share our personal life to browsing websites. The internet is that important, the United Nations has declared internet access as a Human right. During the past few years I have taken an interest in online world, learning the workings behind the internet I took an interest into programming several of languages including C#, Java and HTML. In these languages I began to develop useful tools and applications. These interests lead me to apply for a degree in computer science, so I can learn more about the principles of the subject.
Currently I am studying Computing at A2, during this time I have gained valuable skills which has helped me understand computing much more fluently than I did when I was younger. I’m especially interes...
I was first introduced to the real world CS and programming languages in Grade 9. I learned Java for 4 years and watching my code execute correctly was always delightful. And that is when I decided that I wanted to pursue CS. At UCI, I learned Python in my first year and currently I am learning C++. Some assignments have really blown me away as I was able to connect the dots between different concepts and produce results. To get exposed to CS, I job shadowed a Web Developer and a Director of Operation. To gain new skills, I did a research project in areas of crowdsourcing where I learned Django and applied my knowledge in creating a website with other teammates using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I worked on IoT and Augmented Reality as a summer intern. I am currently working on Augmented Reality as an intern, this quarter. I believe that learning and applying are different things and unless you are able to develop or progress by applying your knowledge you won’t know if you have indeed trodden the path of mastering it. I am grateful to have several opportunities to help me grow and advance in CS.
... be working hard and putting the time in. Computers are a great tool and have help build our world into what it is today. With every year that passes we as a human species grow more relying on computer technologies’. That is the biggest reason I have chosen to study computers and all the great tools computers offer us. I know there is a job in computer out there for me and for anyone else that is interested in the computer field.
It then proceeds to examine the need for these skills in the real world and the need for these skills to be taught at university level. It starts by examining the general case of all students arriving in college for the first time and by the end gets to the particular needs of computer science students and others in the more practical disciplines.
From a very young age, I understood an education’s importance as I would look at my brilliant mother spending 12 hours a day, utilizing a tiny fraction of her mind to carry a task that requires a greater manual since she didn't graduate from high school. Nevertheless, as a first-generation student my wish to pursue a college degree isn't only to break out of any preconceived notion you might create about my background, and display who I truly am in terms of personality and ability, but to grow as an individual.Being able to pursue a college degree would not only give me the opportunity to aspire to better positions within the work area but also help me develop activities of higher profile and therefore challenge myself. I think that this is
Pursuing a college degree is something that has been important to me for a long time. It would mean I can finally start my career and my life will make a dramatic change. I believe it could increase the possibilities of employment, help develop new skills and be responsible, and learn how to be more independent.
My first experience with Computer Science had to be back in 10th grade when I wanted to learn how to code Java and make neat programs on my own. This was a year before I took AP Computer Science in high school and I didn’t want to wait a whole year to learn how to code, so I followed tutorials I found online and pieced together some knowledge of Java that helped me greatly going into the class. What was so important about learning about Java on my own was that it kept me intrigued on what Computer Science was and kept me dead set on that being my major going into Florida State University. Since then I have continued to develop coding skills and an interest for Computer Science through watching Harvard CS courses online, messing with a Raspberry Pi and traveling to Detroit with TechNole and attending a hackathon called MHacks. Most recently I have been trying to learn how to develop Android apps. These things continue to drive me to learn and try new things related to Computer Science and expose myself more to the field.
I started computer programming at the age of thirteen. The first computer that I worked on was a BBC machine for which I wrote my first program. The first computer language that I learnt was ‘BASIC’. And today, when I have completed my undergraduate education I have become thorough with most programming languages and technologies in the computer science domain. My interest in pursuing graduate studies and pursuing a career as a research scientist has especially grown during my undergraduate days, and intensified during my interaction with the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
I have always been interested and intrigued by computers, ever since using a BBC when I was very young. Since then I have become fluent in writing BASIC and more recently I have learnt HTML, the language of the World Wide Web on which I have my own wesite. I use computers for most of my exam coursework such as Solving Equations Using Numerical Methods for Pure Maths 2 and also for recreation.
... advanced computing, with specific reference to Computer Programming. I therefore believe that I must return to the academic world for further growth and achieve some more milestones.
My ultimate goal in my career is to make a commendable contribution to the computing world either by starting an innovative venture or doing research which would change the dimensions of future computing and the way we perceive the computers. Now I have determined that a dedicated higher study on Computer Science will enable me to aggregate all my previous knowledge & experience on the field and encourage in achieving my career goal. I am looking at Graduate studies to provide me with the required expertise to carry out higher studies.
I took up Computer Science and Engineering as my discipline in Bhoj Reddy Engineering College for Women affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, one of the premier institutes in India. My undergraduate education has been a great learning and enriching process for me. It exposed me to all the core areas of Computer Science like operating systems, database management systems, networks and network security, data structures, algorithms and software engineering. These courses have given me a good foundation in the core concepts. My interest lies in Database Management, Programming Languages, Theory of Computation, and Software Engineering. I am fully acquainted with the fast growing subjects like Object Oriented Programming, Analysis and Design. On the other hand, the intensive laboratory classes exposed me to a fascinating world of experimentation. It was here that I discovered the qualities of perseverance and diligence in myself. I feel that these courses have done a lot to prepare me for my future studies and research work.
My interest in Computers dates back to early days of my high school. The field of CS has always fascinated me. The reason for choosing CS stream was not a hasty decision. My interest started developing in the early stage of my life, when I studied about the invention of computers. The transformation from the large size to small palmtops enticed me to know about the factors responsible for making computers, also the electronic gadgets so small.
Computers and Technology have fascinated me right from my childhood and I have always had it in my mind to choose Information Technology for my engineering. As the years passed my eagerness grew and so did my thirst to attain higher education and now is the perfect time for me to ignite the spark in me. This has given me the courage to analyze the fact that I have a herculean task ahead in order to comprehend an extensive proportion of subject and enjoy it while assimilating the problems.
The field of Computer Science is based primarily on computer programing. Programming is the writing of computer programs using letters and numbers to make "code". The average computer programer will write at least a million lines of code in his or her lifetime. But even more important than writting code, a good programer must be able to solve problems and think logicaly.
My passion for computers started in high school, when my father bought a home pc. Then I got the opportunity to explore my practical knowledge with a young and an enthusiastic teacher. At first I started learning about the hardware...
