Steve Jobs: Visionary Genius
Steve Jobs was one of the most influential people in the media over the last 25 years. Steve Jobs changed technology and entertainment that hasn’t been seen since Thomas Edison illuminated the world, radicalizing the technology and telecommunications industry. Jobs was born in San Francisco, California February 24, 1955. “Jobs was an avid computer hobbyist who dropped out of Reed College after his first semester. At the age of 21, he founded Apple Computer, Inc., with Stephen G. Wozniak, a friend and fellow computer hobbyist” (Jobs).
Step One: The Creative Task
The creative task involves being able to alter one’s concept of creativity and try to see things from a new angle – especially design! “Most often, people associate creativity with something intellectual, a particular way of thinking” (Greene, 179). Steve Jobs was a pioneer; he revolutionized the technology world, but also the music and movie world as well as the telephone. Jobs took what was there and he made it better. In the movie JOBS, you see the creativity of Steve portrayed through his design of the iMac and the first generation iPod, which is shown in the opening scene of the movie.
Step Two: Creative Strategies
According to poet John Keats, “we must be capable of negating our ego. We are by nature fearful and insecure creatures. We do not like what is unfamiliar or unknown. To compensate for this, we assert ourselves with opinions and ideas that make us seem strong and certain” (Green, 181). Steve Jobs is a world-renowned entrepreneur who revolutionized the technology industry. He is best known as Apple’s co-founder (“Obituary: Steve Jobs”, 2011). Jobs’ numerous innovations not only changed the world, but they also developed the personal computer industry. The Apple co-founder never seized to amaze his audience with his endless unique innovations. The rise of Apple computers did not come easy and along with the major success obtained their failures have not gone without notice. Yet, through the joy of success and the agony of defeat, Apple has continued to reinvent its brand over four decades.
Steve’s work made him outrageously famous in popularity and fame. He emerged into the spotlight very quickly due to the co-founding of Apple Co. His popularity and fame increased over the years that he kept introducing new products for consumers to buy. Many people like to call him “once in a generation genius”. (“Steve Jobs” pg.1) In 1982 Time Magazine earlier named his apple computer as the “Machine of the Year” aside with a long profile of Jobs and then got famous for it. (Riggertj pg 1) Later he was awarded the “national Medal of Technology” by President Ronald Reagan in the category “Greatest Public Service by an individual 35 years or under”.(Riggertj pg 1) In 1989 Jobs was named “Entrepreneur of the Decade” by Inc. Steve Jobs (CEO and chairman of Apple Inc.) was an American entrepreneur and inventor. He was born in February 24, 1955 and founded Apple Inc. with his high school buddy Steve Wozniak in 1976. But later in 1976, when Apple was about to bankrupt he returned to it as advisor and Interim CEO. He made Apple profitable from near bankruptcy by 1998 (Walter Isaacson, 2013). Steve Jobs dropped out of college, but yet he still managed to become a multi-millionaire by the age of twenty-five. After one semester of college, Jobs dropped out and started to work with his very close friend Stephen Wozniak, creating their very own personal computer. They started to work on the computer in Jobs room and garage. With only $1300, Jobs and his friend Wozniak started their own company and Jobs decided to name it Apple. Apple is now a company that is being used daily worldwide. Steve Jobs is a revolutionary because he changed the way America views their technology.

With his unique love for technology, Steve Jobs changed the world with his revolutionary innovations, developments, and extremely successful companies. He made communication faster, people’s lives easier, and invented many famous products. Jobs was born on February 24, 1955, in San Francisco, California (Ed. Sheila Dow and Jaime E. Noce). Throughout his high school career, Jobs loved electronics. He was constantly wiring the house with speakers or building frequency counters with his Hewlett-Packard Explorers Club, a group of students who met weekly to learn about what HP was working on. One day the club members took a trip to see firsthand at what HP was developing at the time. That was the day Jobs saw his very first desktop computer (Walter Isaacson 16-17).
The purpose of writing this essay is to give an idea how these two respected CEOs of multinational companies has changed the world. Technology is booming nowadays, even the minor things that we can do manually are done using technology. Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple computer and Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, has changed the world. These two leaders are best known for their innovations which has taken our world to the next level. Steve and Bill has got something in common. Surprisingly, both of these CEO had never graduated from college, but they are known to be the world most successful leaders and they both work in the same kind of company (Lashinsky, 2013). Nevertheless, their leadership styles differs (Peralta,2011). The way they treat the employees at the workplace is in contrast.
Steve Jobs is an American business man who had a passion for perfection. He also was not afraid to fail, but every time he failed he would improve on the product that he was planning on making. In the book that Walter Isaacson wrote about Steve Jobs mostly explains what he went through to make the products that we know of today (Isaanson, 2011). He had a really good passion for great excellence, and insisted on elegant design and simplicity. All in all he is a very successful business leader in our society today.
Steve Jobs one of the founding fathers of Apple Inc used strategic planning to his advantage by making Apple’s mission a simple one- bringing easy to use computers to the general market, revolutionizing the computer market. In 2007, after thirty years, the organization changed its name from Apple Computer to Apple Inc., this was a significant move because the organization became more independent, and it was no longer known as a vendor to Macintosh personal computer line (Yoffie & Slind, 2008).
