Real knowledge, like everything else of the highest value, is not to be obtained easily. It must be worked for, studied for, thought for, and, more than all, it must be prayed for” - Thomas Arnold It’s quite true that the real knowledge cannot be acquired in an easier way instead we need to strive hard and even face many hardships in order to obtain a wide range of knowledge. Obtaining the knowledge is not just the fact to be considered but we also needed to gain the knowledge in our field of interest which fetches a lot in studies as well as for building up a healthy career. It is my extreme privilege that I have been given an opportunity to express about myself in my very own context. The very fortunate thing ever happened to me was that I had a very good early education which helped me a lot in the following time i.e., during and after my schooling. As I grew up also did my interests, at first Mathematics was the only topic which always dominated my interests but later on my interests made a shift on to the field of sciences mainly Physical Sciences with the introduction of many interesting topics in it. That was the time since which the inception of my interest in the field of sciences begun. Learning had become the key part of my life since then. Possessing the basic knowledge in the field of physical sciences and the intuition in them made me to pick up Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as my majors for the Higher Secondary Education. After the completion of my secondary education, I felt that engineering was the only field which can transform and transfer my dreams in the field of sciences into a real one and also it would give me an opportunity to learn and explore how the fundamentals of science are appl... ... middle of paper ... ...the one reason which made me to take a firm decision to study at your esteemed university is that the necessary amount of exposure you provide which is required for broadening up my thinking abilities and undoing any insular behavior that might still be prevalent in me. Your Institution is a confluence of people from diverse cultures and varied ideologies. I am particularly sure that my exposure to these kinds of things would definitely help me in the overall development of my personality and helps me to broaden up my view from the narrow confines of Nationalism to Internationalism which enhances my career aspirations. I would be glad enough to pursue my Master’s Degree from your esteemed University. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to express about me and given an opportunity, I shall strive to channel my unbridled efforts into more productive avenues.
Our knowledge is a key to our success and happiness in our life to give us personal satisfaction. Knowledge is power but not always. Sometimes our self-awareness and growth as an individual gives us negative thoughts that make us want to go back to undo it. Everyone wants to unlearn a part in our life that brought us pain and problems. Good or bad experiences brought by true wisdom can be used for our self-acceptance, self-fulfillment and these experiences would make us stronger as we walk to the road of our so called “life”, but Douglas’s and my experience about knowledge confirmed his belief that “Knowledge is a curse”. Both of us felt frustrated and sad from learning knowledge.
In conclusion, I would like to say that if granted admission into your university I would perform to the best of my abilities and hope to acquire skills that will help me realize my dreams. Finally I take this opportunity to thank you for enabling me to express myself.
... put together individual obtains knowledge gracefully through everyday conversations, actions, and thoughts. Socrates once said, “True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing”. I disagree with this quote and statement. I believe that being aware of the fact that you know little is nothing to be humiliated of. This marks the beginning of a learning experience. Being aware of knowledge and its importance is certainly a necessity. Knowledge can never be taken away from an individual. Once thoughts, and new ideas and values develop into an individual’s mind it cannot be snatched. The way you view the world is your own deep perception. The more you learn about the world the more insight you have. These are building blocks to learning new things. Soon enough, you will realize that the continuous quest of knowledge is one of the pillars of your victory and bliss.
... and undergraduate has created conducive overture for me to pursue higher education in computer science. An opportunity to be a part of graduate program (MS) in Computer Science at your prestigious University would serve as an entry point to enhance my repertoire, share innovative ideas with co-students acquire vast knowledge from inspiring pedagogue and have true global exposure. With potent and widespread alumni network of your University, I strongly believe that I can leverage the opportunities available and excel in my career ahead.
I am eager to learn and keen to seek out new information. At school, I will always ask questions when in doubt and if a certain topic interests me, I will read up and explore beyond the syllabus independently. My curiosity motivated me to take up Raffles Academy Mathematics, H3 Mathematics and SMU H3 Game Theory as I was extremely interested in combinatorics and strategic decision making. I thoroughly enjoyed reading up on the course materials and I believe that my interest and quest to learn helped me to attain distinctions in these subjects. In my free time, I enjoy reading non-fiction books and watching documentaries as they enable me to learn more about the world and people. There are important lessons that could be applied to daily life, for example, by understanding our natural irrational behavior, we can learn how to make better decisions.
I finally conclude with an assurance that it would be a great privilege for me to do masters in your university and would be looking forward for that great moment.
Math and Physical Sciences exposed me to new concepts and my quest to use them for practical applications prompted me to continue my studies in engineering. An affinity for mechanical devices led me to enrol myself in the Mechanical Engineering curriculum.
...the university would help me in getting valuable research experience. I firmly believe that the admission into your university would be a golden opportunity for me on which the edifice of my scientific career rests. I would be grateful if I am accorded the privilege to pursue my graduation in your university. I understand that I have to put in painstaking hard work and compete with the best in the world to reach my goal. But I am mentally and physically prepared for it or to say, I am prepared to go an “extra mile” both figuratively and literally.
The development of every nation hinges on the effectiveness of their transportation systems. Movement of goods, services and people to and from locations is made possible by transportation systems. The importance of effective transportation systems cannot be over-emphasized. Many countries face transportation problems and my country Ghana is no exception. A trip of about 30 minutes usually takes about an hour or more due to traffic jams. This is seriously impacting productivity and has become a topical issue in the country. The situation is the same in Uganda where I currently work. To this end, Transportation Engineers are needed to design roads/ highways that will stand the test of time, plan effective traffic management systems to reduce
Relentless betterment has always been the motive of my life. The foremost requirement to attain this is knowledge and profound guidance. After the completion of my course under the guidance of your privileged university I am confident enough that I will take the path of constant growth.
The knower is the individual making the observation or having the awareness on the subject of evaluation, The term Perspective is a point of view or frame of mind, Essential means important and desirable, and the pursuit of knowledge is an aspiration for knowledge, or more so an objective of learning. To a large extent, I agree that every individual’s perspective is important when it comes to pursuing knowledge. In my essay, I will discuss the history of Albert Einstein, who contributed a lot to the modern physics in the Natural Sciences and how his creation came to exist in the world from using the personal knowledge that leads to the advances in shared knowledge. I will also talk about Galileo’s reliance on empirical knowledge, which leads him to establish the scientific method, which is still regarded as the only satisfactory approach when it comes to the acquisition of knowledge about the natural world today. Humans can acquire their knowledge in many ways, but the main way that we on instinct acquire our knowledge from is through our life experiences while using ethical reasoning and
From my childhood till today, my most remarkable attributes have been my curiosity to learn new topics. My avid interest for learning new ideas, when blended with my inner desire to reach a degree of excellence in every piece of work I execute, enabled me to acquire substantial knowledge on various aspects of nature and technology, furthermore leading me through a successful educational career.

As one grows into adulthood, the cliché, “Knowledge is power,” is commonly heard. However, there are many conceptions of what knowledge truly is. The most common belief is that knowledge refers to the information that one learns from a textbook, class, lesson, or even online. This is also known as theoretical knowledge. However, theoretical knowledge only one part of what knowledge can be defined as. True knowledge is both academic knowledge and real-life experience. Real-life experience is known as the practical aspect of knowledge. To gain power one must apply both theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge.
Throughout my Secondary education I always had deep interest in science and technology. Since my childhood I was fascinated in progression of Science and how it affected civilizations. Without science and technology the world would not have evolved. My deep interest in science has led me to read articles, journals, and attend exhibitions. In A levels, I studied biology which gave me an academic foundation that is necessary for a career in science and provided me with knowledge of how human life evolved. Mathematics helped me solve problems from different angles and work in a l...
