Who doesn't recall meeting a child who needed a good hard spanking? While children

can be charming and delightful it is usually the two legged terror that get's noticed the most. Who

hasn't heard or at least participated in some gossip or side conersation if yu will, regarding what

should be done? Parents who have unruly children on a regular basis or even rarely are under the gun

to address it. How they adress it is up for debate in todays more child friendly environment Some feel

it is the only thing that works but most are simply familiar with it and are not aware of the implications

as most parent's are unlikely to download Dr. Spocks lates in greatest to their ereader, nor are they

likely to wait on a reply from Dear Abby on what to do about discipline.While parents care for their

children and undoubtedly want the best for them, child rearing is traditional and passed from

generation to generation.While spankings have always been and are still thought to be an effective tool

to counteract and prevent misbehavior in children, it has not only been proven ineffective it has been

proven to be potentially harmful.

As mentioned spanking is a tradition or culture that is not limited to the United States or

this continent. (give facts.) so many other countries have banned spanking. Spanking children as

punishment, also referred to as Corporal punishment is also tied tsome forms of christianity. “Spare the

rod spoil the child” is a popular saying that has come to mean God not only permits corporal

punishment for children but warns of the repurcussions for not doing so. It is important to note that
