“If a man empties his purse into his head, no man can take it away from him. An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest." (thinkexist.com) In my opinion, Benjamin Franklin was the one to say it best. As he once stated, education is not an outdated creation. In fact, it has been proven that educating yourself can stop many diseases, like Alzheimer's, from infecting your body earlier in life. Our nation needs educated children so we will have the necessary advancement our society needs to thrive. Since we need educated citizens, every child should have to go to school from ages five to eighteen.
For instance, if we have more educated people, our society would have more literate citizens in the community. More cultivated people are necessary in order for our society to advance. Also, it is necessary to be able to understand what you are reading so that someone can maintain their independence and gain knowledge. People will also be able to learn more about what interests, so that they can figure out what they may want to do for their future job. For example, someone who is into aquatic animals may figure out that they may want to be a marine biologist. Learning about your interests is extremely necessary because then a person will hopefully not dislike their job, because it is something they are interested in. Also, literacy is necessary because then everyone will have the ability to read menus, be able to understand a recipe, have the ability to read road signs, and be able to function independently.

Though this could happen, many people may find that to be not suitable, because they believe in quality family time.
In conclusion, every child needs to go to school from the age of 5 to the age of 18. The reasons are: society would have many more literate people in the community, it is a California state law, and it may boost someone's self confidence. While kids may not have as much fun, it will may end up being good for them. Society needs educated people, we may not be able to thrive without them. They may have less time for fun and games, but they will learn about their interests. Education is like a wallet, the more someone puts in the more they have received
Education is popular today, and we think none of it. We go to school every day, and it has even gotten some of us to dislike school. However, if you go back in time, those children in the early 1800s were actually wanting to have some sort of education, to be smart, learn how to write, read, etc. One of the greatest reformers of public education was Horace Mann.
Education is the backbone of most nations. Proper teaching to students ensure things such as better technology, better fund distributions, running operations like businesses, military training, and the government. Sadly, our nation is very low on the ladder when it comes to education. Students First has pointed out that most children are reading below their grade level, are respectively the 20th and 27th best nation when it comes to Math and Science, and there is no signifigant change. Americans are however getting an education, though lower than against other nations America still are able to make a living with their lives. There is much needed improvement, but at least Americans are not completely ignorant. Citizens can make a living with their lives and though not as intelligent as someone from Korea or Japan there is no way to dispute that our education system is doing
In order to break through the status quo of poverty for generations, there needs to be more efficiency on education. In our current society, establishments would rather hire someone who well qualified with college degree rather than just a high school education. Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” but what happens if this weapon becomes too expensive to use. Throughout our life time, what we are really taught is that how important it is for one to receive their education, but who really needs to be taught is the education system itself. It is an American dream for our and future generations to gain knowledge and advance because that’s what our nation needs; it needs people who we can trust to hand our nation to, but the debt that comes with educating our generations is holding a lot of them back and that’s unacceptable.
Education is important because it prevents my friend Kenzie from becoming a stripper to support herself and her family. Education is important because it prevents my mother from becoming homeless. Education is important because it helps me bring food to the table. All of these are reasonable arguments as to why education is important. Although our society shouldn’t prioritize its importance based on of materialistic greed, it can’t pulled out of the equation completely. Some might say that capitalism is ruining our education system but that is simply not true. In like many ideology and other religious groups, there are always the extremists that blows things out of proportion. The system requires tests, homework, school assignment, for students
In today’s society, a vast number of people are well educated. They have the equal opportunity to choose their own path in life by getting an education. A primary educational aspect of every human being is to learn to read. Being able to read is a primary goal of people in human society, as well as important in itself to society; it takes people far beyond their wildest dreams. A person who is literate has few limitations on what they can do; the world is an open playing field, because a person that is literate has the ability to become very successful in life.
I believe that the purpose of education is to produce the next generation of leaders who are intelligent and have great character. This idea is supported in the article “The Purpose of Education” by Martin Luther King. Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights activist who fought for black and white people to have equal rights in America. He writes about the true purpose, and meaning of education in the article by saying, “Education must enable one to sift and weigh evidence, to discern the true from the false, the real from the unreal, and the facts from the fiction (MLK1).” This quote from the article explains that being academically educated is very important. It will help people stand up, be a leader, and take charge to make the world a better place for everyone. That gallant leader will argue against the fallacy, lies,
In our culture today, there is a huge emphasis on education, especially higher education. Society basically says the more educated you are, the better off you are. That is pretty much true if you live by the means of society. The basic idea that education, especially a college education, is something that people should pursue even into their adult years is not by any means a new idea.
As a child growing up, I was not told or taught about the importance of educating myself. I was not informed this would be one commodity needed for success and wealth. I came to believe as a child that education was a choice, in a sense that is true. I come from a family where education was a choice, and minimum wage was the hierarchy. I was taught minimum wage was better than no wage at all. I come from a family where education was not real high on the priority list of great success. A place where you got a job and you stuck it out all the way through retirement. Where you were crowned with a gold watch for all the dedication, ...

I strongly believe that a good, heck, or even a regular education is a right that cannot be taken away. Education is a right and not a privilege.

Education is a very powerful key to success in modern day American society. More often than not, a person will not be able to find a decent job unless they have graduated from a reputable college with a degree. Because of this change in society, it has brought a lot of pressure by parents for their child to graduate and get a degree. A lot of those who graduate with a degree are not always the best candidate for the job, and even with the degree, they are not even always guaranteed a job. But personally, getting an education shouldn’t be as big of a deal, as it is now. Back in the day, most people did not go to college, none the less graduated from high school; yet they still made it through and learned lots of things from their jobs that they acquired.
It allows people to gain knowledge on skills society deems important like the three R’s, which are, reading, writing, and arithmetic. Education also prepares young people on entry into adulthood and is therefore a form of socialization. An education system was developed in order for every child to be able to know basic skill sets before having to be on their own. This is a way to partially guarantee that the general populous of a society is educated on all the same basic functions. It allows a society to run more efficiently and effectively if everyone knows a standard amount of skills. Surprisingly, a basic education for all is a relatively new system. Before the 19th century, education was only reserved for the rich, white, upper class. Most jobs back then did not require an education or the ability to read and write. Education overall has had many positive effects on people’s lives. It is directly linked to the type of job a person has and the amount of money they make. For the most part, the better a person’s occupational status, the higher likelihood of a greater formal education, and with a better occupational status comes a better
