RESEARCH STUDIES 3
I participated in two studies, one was “Do you have a positive personality?” and the other one was “Social Needs and Facebook Usage.” I think the hypothesis of Do you have a positive personality, is that more people have a positive personality than negative, and the research study that I took, will prove it right or wrong. The point of the study for the person taking it is to figure out if they have a positive or a negative personality. The hypothesis of Social Needs and Facebook Usage is that people’s social skills and facebook are related. In which by taking the study, it will benefit the researchers if they are related or not.
A question that was asked in do you have a positive personality, was I try to look at everybody’s side of a disagreement before I make a decision, and the choices were does not describe me well, describes me very well, or in between. I answered describes me very well, and I think this is common between people, so a lot of people would answer describes me very well, and that it would boost the higher chance of more people having a more positive personality. Another question asked in this study was I often have tender, concerned feelings for people less fortunate than me. The choices were does not describe me well, does describe me very well, and in between. I chose the answer describes me very well, and I think this could determine if you care about others, or if you care more about yourself, and I think more people care about other people than just themselves. Which also leads to if you have a positive or negative personality. One other question that was asked in the study was I am usually objective when I watch a movie or play, and I don’t often get completely caught up in...

... the two cognitive facets are fantasy and perspective Taking. For the other study, Social Needs and Facebook Usage, there were not results, except thanks for participating. However it did explain that the point of the study was to determine peoples’ social needs and related use of facebook, other data elements, such as gender, are collected to help identify any unexpected results. I think the study didn’t give results, because by me participating in the study, it would prove the hypothesis true or false, and wouldn’t benefit me.

I believe our personalities make up who we are and how others perceive us at times. Personalities are our own unique qualities, that we possess as individuals. In writing this short paper, I have found that psychologists use assessments to define an individual’s personality to determine their qualities and what makes them different from other individuals. Through the Big Five Personality test, I found it difficult to define and understand an individual personality

In conclusion, one has prepared a research proposal in the field of social Psychology, in addition, one has explained five current research topics that relates to social behavior in the field of psychology research. The topic discussed include; interpersonal relationship, social influence, self and social identity, stereotype, violence and aggression. Each topic involves the study of human social behavior in psychology and is known as the raw data of psychology.
Psychology is the scientific study of the mind, brain, and behavior. In psychology, and all of the other sciences, relying on opinions is abandoned in order to find out which explanations best fit the evidence or data given. Science continually forces us to question our findings and conclusions. Over time, psychology has advanced greatly and a main reason for such progressiveness is because of the change in the research model used.
Statisticians have argued that the original study by Friedman and Rosenman had serious limitations, including large and unequal sample sizes, and less than 1% of the variance in relationship explained by Type A personality.[ http://fileserver.net-texts.com/asset.aspx?dl=no&id=10756]
A person’s personality has been the subject of psychological scrutiny for many years. Psychologists have drawn up several theories in an attempt to accurately predict and determine one’s personality. Foremost amongst these, is the “Big Five Trait Theory” which stemmed from Raymond B. Cattell’s theory.
In the vast and detailed world of psychology, there are a variety of different tests you can participate in. For example, you can participate in aptitude, verbal or numerical reasoning, and psychometric tests. These tests assess on a variety of different situations such as: behaviors, abilities and intelligence. Personality tests, a common and favored test, measure things such as: behavioral style, opinions, motivators, personal values and career interests. Most often, people complain or disagree with the score of some areas on their personality test; however, there are no right or wrong answers. After completing this personality test and reviewing the results, I found that the overall scoring accurately described me in most areas. The Big Five Personality test scores in five different areas involving openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism.
As a college student I am faced with many situations throughout my daily life, while I believed I maintain a certain consistent personality through the process of this paper I was able to identify how my personality differed or stayed the same based on situations I was in. Through the course of this study, I was able to identify when five of what I feel are my most prominent personality traits were most prevalent and how they changed depending on the situation. The five personality traits I chose were humorous, imaginative, sarcastic, optimistic, and helpful. The situations I choose to look at were me in class, at work, with a friend, with family, and when I was alone studying.

I chose to take a self-objective personality assessment on Outofservice.com to analyze my own personality traits. A series of 60 questions were asked for to me to rate my behavior a scale of 1 through 5 to determine my personality. Questions ranged from, how I am at parties to how much I care for others. The website uses the Five-Factor Model to understand the way people’s personalities differ from one another’s, the same model used in general psychology. I was given a percent and a brief description on my behavior in the traits of Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism. Even though they are many more personality traits, each individual lies somewhere on the spectrum of these five

Taking a personality test is something that I have had to do a few times. First in college while going for my bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, then while attending Airman Leadership School, and finally for this class. Taking these test all three times I have received similar if not the same results so I think that I have answered these truthful each time. Some of the tests that were required for this class were more in depth, taking 82 sub test
The concept of personality has numerous definitions (Fatahi, Moradi, & Kashani-Vahid, 2016). Schultz and Schultz (2009), define personality in its broad sense as the manner of an individual’s behaviour in different situations. This essay explores the nature of personality, with the intention of highlighting its flexibility. The results of numerous empirical research studies are examined in order to investigate if, and how personality changes over time. It will be argued that an individual’s personality has the ability to change throughout their life.
