Julius Caesar is a famous play that he wrote which pretty much teaches people not to trust anybody. It starts out with Julius Caesar coming to Rome in a parade to celebrate his victory in battle. On his way to the podium, he was stopped by a soothsayer who was blind. The soothsayer was telling him to “beware the Ides of March.” Caesar ignored it and went to the podium where he was offered the crown of Rome but he declined it. Brutus, who was a longtime friend with Caesar, was talking to Cassius who was trying to get Brutus the crown. Cassius was a smart man who was always a step ahead of most people. He knew how to convince Brutus that he was the right person for the crown. Cassius then comes up with a plan that he would write a bunch of letters pretending to be citizens of Rome and he had them delivered to Brutus’s house. He knew that this would make Brutus feel loved and make him realize that he was the right person for the crown. Then Brutus hosts a meeting with Cassius and some conspirators who he brings with him. The plan was to kill Caesar and Mark Antony, Caesar’s ally. Brutus did not agree with this plan because he thought that people would be too suspicious of them and hurt their reputation. Caesar was preparing to go to the Senate on the Ides of March but his wife, Calpurnia, had a nightmare about seeing a statue of Caesar and seeing a lot of stab wounds in it and blood was coming out of the holes. She also dreamed that the citizens were washing their hands in his blood. She begged him not to go to the Capitol and he was convinced at first but then he got to thinking about stuff that might happen so he went anyways. When he first arrived there, he was approached by a man named Artemidorus gave him a letter in which in the letter it told Caesar to beware of Brutus and all of the conspirators.
