With unforgettable characters, unique weapons and aircraft, and powerful mythology, Star Wars has shaped how all outer-planetary sci-fi movies and shows are made today. Although many people think Star Wars is an exact replica of Star Trek, they are sadly mistaken. Time frame, species, events, mythology, characters, it’s all different and in no way better than Star Wars.

There exists in each culture a sequence of tales and stories, which starts up a piece of culture history. These stories, called myths, frequently wander into the magical world, with fascinating heroes fighting dreadful beasts to protect exotic lands. As civilization has advanced, we have moved beyond the need to attribute unexplained events to bizarre workings beyond our knowledge. As a result, present day culture puts its assurance towards science and religion, and since then, there has been no modern myths. "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..." (Star Wars), the opening scene for the Star Wars franchise, has created a strong impact towards the media and culture. Star Wars is “an American epic space opera franchise centered
The Star Wars Films are a great series of trilogies made by Lucasfilm, and thought up by George Walton Lucas. The original Star Wars films are some of the most well known known movies ever made. Until George Lucas retired and sold Star Wars to Disney for 4 billion dollars. But Disney had almost no experience making good sci-fi movies.
With the upcoming brand-new installment in the legendary and beloved Star Wars saga, I decided to give props to some of the greatest sci-fi movies to ever grace the silver screen. All of the movies on this list either influenced or were influenced by the Star Wars franchise in both large and small ways. Of course, this list is my own opinion; feel free to share your ideas in the comments or yell at me on twitter.Event Horizon is a 90's horror film set in deep-space that includes fantastic performances from stars like Sam Neill and Laurence Fishburne. A salvaging crew is commissioned to find a lost craft called the Event Horizon designed by an eccentric Doctor played by Neill. The craft disappeared into a wormhole and when the salvage crew goes

Macbeth is a play written by William Shakespeare. It is considered one of his darkest and most powerful tragedies. It is a timeless classic and its themes resonate within some of the most common movies and books of modern times. Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise centered on a film series created by George Lucas. The film series, consisting of two trilogies, has spawned an extensive media franchise called the Expanded Universe including books, television series, computer and video games, and comic books. The franchise depicts a galaxy described as far, far away in the distant past, and it commonly portrays Jedi as a representation of good, in conflict with the Sith, their evil counterpart. Their weapon of choice, the lightsaber, is commonly recognized in popular culture. It is arguably a cinematic masterpiece, holding in rank two of possibly the greatest trilogies the world has ever seen. It is a timeless epic which embodies within it an allegory for the history of the world; the rise and fall of empires and their emperors; the pursuit of power; the melting pot of cultures; the struggle for survival; the advancement of human technology; and most importantly as a whole, the history of humanity. Steven D. Graynus declared, “Ultimately, what the Star Wars films offer is….rousing storytelling suffused by themes of moral struggle and transcendence” (Decent Films Guide). The franchise's storylines contain many themes, with strong influences from philosophy and religio...

Star Trek took the world by storm with its futuristic scenarios and outlandish ideas, which opened up the doors for science fiction in America as it gained recognition and popularity all across the world. It started as a television series in the 1960’s to becoming a multi-billion dollar franchise including 5 television series, 12 movies, and selling a magnitude of merchandise (Star Trek). People tend to look past the fact that Star Trek was so influential on the world, all they see is men and women in weird suits fighting aliens in space. But, what people don’t see is the how Star Trek inspired people and events that have drastically impacted not only America, but eventually the whole world. Things like the non-vehicular cell phone, iPad, and other devices and people were all inspired by the series (Star Trek). Fans dedicate themselves to Star Trek conventions and replica building and fanfiction. They even consider themselves part of the Star Trek family, calling themselves ‘Trekkies’ or ‘Trekkers’ (Star Trek). Star Trek fans have even gone as far as of learning to speak Klingon and use the Vulcan salute as a symbol to recognize another fan (Star Trek).

the first pilot of the franchise Star Trek was released, and with the premier of STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE in 1977, Geeks, nerds, and overall fanatics have had a debate ever since over which Sci-fi magnate made for the best cinematic entertainment. I would like to personally settle this argument with four main points in favor of the better movie franchise: STAR WARS. My four points are: 1. STAR WARS has better weapons, 2. STAR WARS has better villains, 3. STAR WARS has better music, and finally, 4. Star Trek is less of a motion picture ICON than STAR WARS.....
Lucas the chance to make a foothold in the film industry, and he certainly did.
Quite possibly one of the most iconic openings in cinematic history is “A Long time ago in a galaxy far far away.” Of course, I am referring to Star Wars. It is such a fascinating and great movie going experience. There have been a total of seven Star Wars films, but in this essay I am going to be focusing on Star Wars: Episode 3- Revenge of the Sith. This film was written and directed by George Lucas and of the science fiction genre. Revenge of the Sith was released in theaters on May 19, 2005.
George Lucas' Sci-Fi multi-film Star Wars saga has had a significant impact on modern popular culture. Star Wars references are deeply embedded in popular culture; references to the main characters and themes of Star Wars are casually made in many English-speaking countries with the assumption that others will understand the reference. If you go to Comic Con you will at least two princess Leias a few Luke Skywalkers and a whole bunch of Han Solos it just gives you an overwhelming sense of pride and joy that you belong to this great
The recently released ‘Star Wars: The Force Unleashed’ has become the best-selling Star Wars game, or of any game previously released by LucasArts , of all time shifting over 1.5 million copies of the title. LucasArts also underestimated how popular the game would become with ‘unprecedented demand’. “This further emphasizes the undiminished popularity of Star Wars” ( Faylor C, 2008 ).
It has a huge impact on popular culture that people feel obligated to go see the films. Star Wars movies are shown and promoted nearly worldwide. In addition, Star Wars is one of the first films to have the most successful merchandise franchise. “These movies began building buzz long before they opened and commanded coverage in magazines and the emerging genre of infotainment television” (Bordwell and Thompson 683), basically Star Wars is a mega picture. It is everywhere and all over people’s faces, for example Episode VII has been promoted in the past year all over the world. The movie tickets in many theaters have sold out because people feel obligated to see it. On the other hand, films in the 1890’s did not have the type of promotion Star Wars has received, but a lot of people went to see the short silent films. Due to a few reasons: for entertainment, escape reality, popular culture, and going out to the movie theater to watch a film was a social norm at the time. When it came to merchandise, Disney was doing it for years, but merchandise did not make a huge impact until Star Wars. As a result, Star Wars changed and inspired new promotion and money-making strategies for all the Hollywood
