Why Teaching Intellingent Design and Creationism in Schools and not just Evolution Isn't a Good Idea - ... Supporters of intelligent design also use this as a way to point out that there are gaps in the theory of evolution. They believe the theory of evolution cannot be true because it does not bring in to play the intelligent designer himself. In other words, intelligent design is a theory centered on religion. And if intelligent design is unscientific and religiously in nature, why should this one theological idea be given time over all the others if it were to be taught in a science course. Most intelligent design supporters imply there is only one creator or intelligent designer: in other words a monotheistic creator....   [tags: personal beliefs on academics] 1884 words

Essay on Should Evolution be Taught in Schools? - Evolution has been taught in all public schools for as long as many can recall. Though the process of evolution is not the only theory, schools have been teaching it as if it is the complete truth, ignoring other aspects and only focusing and targeting on Darwin's theory of Evolution. However, there are still many other ideas that the students should be informed of as well because all are theories, all are hypothetic. Teaching of the evolution theory have yet to be proven reliable and confirmed by all scientists, thus it should not be taught in schools and should be left for students to wonder and discover by themselves....   [tags: Evolution, public schools, ] 753 words

Teaching Evolution in Public Schools Essay - Many groups have tried to push their ideas on the public through schooling. Public school students, numbering in the millions, seem a perfect, captive audience for the promulgation of the ideas of a few self-righteous groups. These groups have tried to influence national thinking by promoting their views in the classroom, but this is not an acceptable method. A public school classroom is a place for the passing of accepted knowledge from an instructor to a student, not the place for the ideas of the ignorant few to influence the thinking of the many....   [tags: Essays on Teaching Evolution]
