The alarm sounded and Ryan’s hand hit the button at the same time his feet hit the floor. His excitement leaped him off his bed and into his clothes. He flashed down the stairs like a cheetah. It was his birthday and he knew his parents had something planned. While he was eating his big breakfast his parents told him that they were going to Gaming Galaxy, he almost fainted. Surprised, they also told him he could bring one friend. So then he rushed toward his phone and called his friend Brian.
Brian was so excited he got dressed, brushed his teeth, and headed out the door. He ran out the door as he could not wait for his mom to drive him, as his mom was to slow. He then ran to Ryan’s house and they were ready to go to Gaming Galaxy. On their way they were talking about all the games they were going to play first. Once they arrived their eyes widened in astonishment. There were lights and noises flashing everywhere and in big bright green yellow letters it said “Gaming Galaxy”. Walking in they looked around and wondered they what game they were going to play first. They went on from game to game as time went on playing each game they wondered around and then they saw it the most popular game on the market, Zombie land three-thousand.
Ryan looking at Brian with an excited grin on his face and said “let’s play”. So they played and they finally finished after an hour and finally won. Once they finished there was a continue button they thought they had beat the game. So wanting to make sure they won, Brian hit continue. As a black dot appeared on the screen, they stared and watched it evolve until it took up the whole screen and they found themselves in a new world. Thinking if he and his best friend were going to make it, or if it was too late. In the morning they set out walking next to the street so they did not draw any attention to the repulsive creatures. Brian was paranoid and would stop crouch and aim if it looked to be anything like a zombie. He did not want to become one of them as the thought of eating someone alive was nauseating. The thought had him sick to his stomach. So they bolted across the street, and quickly slowed back down to take a peek around the corner.
Jogging then stopping they wavered going down the alley not knowing if it was safe. So they finally went after the argument to catch up. And see if they can get closer.
* Duncan, Vinny, and Wayne are all friends working - or wasting time - the summer before senior year in high school. Duncan is the soul, Vinny the brains, and Wayne the muscle. At the end of the previous summer, Duncan tried to save a drowning girl and failed. Not being a hero has really affected his life, particularly his relationship with his girlfriend Kim. Also, he is now terrified of swimming, especially when the nightmares come back. Duncan's summer job is with the public transit lost and found. While trying to make the hours go faster, Duncan looks through the items, especially the books and golf clubs. One day he discovers an unmarked journal with no name, which depicts sadistic animal torture experiments, boasts of arson fires, and the planning for the serial killings of three women. Duncan decides to make amends for his failure last summer by tracking down the owner of the journal by using clues left hidden in the diary. After talking with his friend Vinny, Duncan decides to turn the journal over to the police, but they do not take him seriously, so he decides to get help from Vinny, do some research at the local library, and find out where the killer works and lives so they can prove to the police the diary is for real. But in the process when Duncan finds the house of the serial killer, he decides to take a look in it but unfortunately at that very time the serial killer appears and chases Duncan to the subway station. They get into fight there and they both fell on the subway tracks in the station where they get hit by the train. Duncan luckily survives but the serial killer dies.

Tom and Benny Imura live in a post-apocalyptic world where zombies have taken over most of the land and the remaining human survivors stay locked behind tall walls or fences. Benny is about to turn 15, and in the survivor town of Mountainside, that means he must get a job or he would lose half his rations. His older brother Tom wants him to join the family business. Tom is a renowned zombie hunter. But Benny isn’t interested in having anything to do with his brother, even if he “got to whack some real zoms” (Maberry, 2011, Ch. 1). He thinks Tom is a coward—after all, his first memory is of Tom taking him and running, leaving his mother to die on First Night. She had been wearing a white dress with red sleeves, and he remembered she was screaming (Maberry Ch. 40). He idolizes the other bounty hunters who live in town. They’re so much cooler than Tom, they’ve killed thousands of zombies and they make lots of ration dollars. But after hating every job he tried, Benny finally breaks down and asks Tom for a job. When Tom brings Benny with him to the ruin for the first time, Benny learns that he had it all wrong. Nothing is at all what he thought it was.
Do you ever wonder what you would do if you were being chased by a zombie? Last October on the weekend before Halloween, I got to find out the answer to that very important question. My friends Ashley, Anna, Vikram, and I decided to go to the Great America Fright Fest. It’s a very unique event where the whole park is decorated for halloween and filled with lots of scary attractions for the entire month. It had been a sweltering day for late October filled with lots of cotton candy and rollercoasters, and as the sun sank lower into the sky the real fun began.

It was an old abandoned hotel. The rickety building was barely kept up by the rotting wood pillars. A sign nailed on front read “Mortimer’s Inn.” As he walked in, Alexis noticed the cobwebs hanging on the bookshelves. Nervously, he crept forward. A broken wooden door was kicked in with a faint red stain on it. Alexis kept on going. Soon, he came to a very narrow corridor that opened into a room. It was very grand, with many dining tables and a massive stage with something on it. With a gun in hand, he sprinted forward to the stage where he saw the bodies.
