As Americans, we all bear a special responsibility to both uphold and promote the rule of law. This sacred responsibility springs from our unique place in history, and it’s our destiny as a nation. The founding documents of our founding fathers “The Declaration of Independence” and the Constitution. Established for the first time in history a government not made up of man men but of laws. Our founding fathers breathed life into an idea which caused men to rejoice and despots to fall. It is the force and majesty of this idea that created the most powerful nation ever created. Today our strength derives from the heroic historic documents and from the principle of the law. For more than two centuries, the rule of law has served for generations.
Before America was born, men and women were ruled by kings who claimed divine right to rule and changed the laws to satisfy their own personal whims. It was considered a tragedy by our founding fathers who had dreamt of a nation on the Rule of Laws. Humanity lived under iron rule of one form of king or another for thousands of years until that fateful day in Philadelphia, when some very wise and courageous leaders gathered on the Fourth of July in 1776 to institute a new form of government where people like us would be able to rule ourselves under the law. This is known as the Rule of Law. Justice according to written laws instead of the desire of private interests. The dream of America is a land of Liberty and Justice for all. According to the Rule of Law, we rule ourselves.

This country is different from all of the others around the world. Our exception emerged long before the United States became a nation. The conditions through which American Colonies were formed and their belief in the Divine Providence, contributed to the exceptional nature of the United States of America.
This nation was not only exceptional at its founding, but became increasingly exceptional over the passage of time. The exception that this country enjoys will no doubt continue into the future from generation to generation. As long as the concept of exception is defended by the people that make up the grand nation known as The United States of America.
The exceptional nature of the United States has been important not only to the growth of this country both geographically and economically, but to people everywhere in the world.
The concept is related directly to the origin and the development of the United States; what makes it unique, extraordinary, and distinguish it from any other countries in the world. As Leslie Fiedler has observed, “to be an American (unlike being British or French or whatever) is precisely to imagine a destiny rather than to inherit one: since we have been always, insofar as we are Americans at all, inhabitants of myth rather than history…” (Abbott n.p). This implies that the whole notion in the natural design of the United States as a nation distinguishes it from any other nations is myth rather than history. In fact, American Exceptionalism is very complex and difficult term because of its historical development and cultural identity which results in various meanings.
The United States is an immense country, with many residents and citizens descending from immigrants who have influenced many customs, traditions, behaviors and ways of life. Unlike many old world nations, the United States does not have a homogenous population or a traditional homeland. However, American culture can be interpreted as being largely based in Western Europe with influences from the Native Indians, Africans, Asians, and elsewhere.
This essay does not attempt to make a case that the United States of America has special standing with God as a modern chosen nation. I do not dispute that America is exceptional. However, American Exceptionalism applies to exceptional qualities of the United States in relationship to other nations. At its inception those qualities included limited government that exists to protect and defend the free exercise of inalienable human rights. The Bald Eagle soars across the land of the free, the strong, of beauty, and with longevity. It watches and caws as it calls for small, broken-wing pigeons if they need some help. He can fly high, but there is a limit to how high one can fly even for one of the greatest birds in existence. Once he reaches his breaking point, there is no going farther. He either stays there or flies lower. If he goes up more than he is supposed to, then he will crash and burn. The point here is that the Bald Eagle represents the United States of America, meanwhile the small, broken-wing pigeons represent the people in countries that are in need of assistance, such as Afghanistan and Israel. The United States can definitely take a huge part to helping others throughout the world, but there is a very fine limit that they can go. Although the US is very powerful, democratic, and influential, that does not make America exceptional. There is a difference between nationalism and American exceptionalism, with American exceptionalism being quite a narcissistic view. America, alone, does not have the moral responsibility to help the world through leadership and guidance, otherwise they would be dragged down. Basically, the entire world has this moral responsibility, therefore making all countries either “exceptional” or all being “non-exceptional”, which makes American exceptionalism an invalid concept.
The growth of the United States of America is unquestionable over the past couple of centuries, and the reason being is due to the strength of the constitution that was established by the founding fathers, and other leaders that shaped this country. Individuals traveling from Europe brought over their traditions and philosophical knowledge to enhance their way of life.
The foundational notion of equality is the true basis for American exceptionalism, and in the next era, America can become the embodiment of our founding ideals again with dedication to making equality a reality.
Exceptionalism of a country is the idea that it holds different, more ethical decisions, than all the other countries through time. Some believe the great experiment of america is one of these great exceptions. However, slavery, the industrial revolution, and the expansion of the federal government have all threatened this idea of greatness.

For many around the world, the United States have become known as the country of opportunity and success. Consequently, many believe in the idea of the American dream, a life abundant with opportunities and with success coming from hard work. While some may argue about how the United States doesn’t fit the definition of “exceptionalism” because we aren’t “different from the norm”. This not true. The United States donates billions of dollars to other countries all over the world, along with military help to our allies and countries in need. To prove how the United States is exceptional can sometimes be hard to prove since we are talking about a whole entire country. We aren’t just talking about one person or a group of people. Were talking about a whole country who overall has done a lot for many other nations of the world. We have made great steps in allowing things we once never allowed such as gay marriage. We are going above and beyond in what we do to allow things that we haven't allowed before. In 1776, when the United States was born, a set of rules, or guidelines were published to make the United States a fair country. When I think of the word “America,” I think of an independent country that stands alone, under the rule of no other country, or tyrant. A country fair and where EVERYONE is created equal. Our Founding Fathers formed this nation, with liberty and rights. The Founding Fathers gave us a gift, in which they expect us to carry until we die. Law is one of the most important elements that transform humans from mere beasts into intelligent and special beings. Law tells us what is right and wrong and how we, humans, should act to achieve a peaceful society while enjoying individual freedoms. The key to a successful nation is a firm, strong, and fair code of high laws that provides equal and just freedom to all citizens of the country. A strong government is as important as a firm code of law as a government is a backbone of a country and of the laws. A government is a system that executes and determines its laws. As much as fair laws are important, a capable government that will not go corrupt and provide fair services holds a vital role in building and maintaining a strong country.
