Residual Online Income and HubPages
HubPages is a residual online income site that lets you earn money from your writing. You do so by creating "hubs" (articles), which are just pages full of written content, photos, videos, polls, quizzes and -- last but certainly not least -- advertising. When you sign up and become a Hubber, as the members of HubPages are affectionately called, you are allowed to start publishing hubs. The way you earn residual online income is by sharing a portion of the ad revenue generated by these hubs. HubPages does not pay its members directly, however; you receive payments by means of third party advertisers. And here’s where its residual online income program gets a little confusing.
You must monetize your hubs to earn money via HubPages. Therefore, you must have accounts with either Google AdSense, Kontera, Amazon Associates and/or eBay’s affiliate program. (FYI, becoming an eBay affiliate has nothing to do with simply being an eBay member. It‘s a separate program. Likewise, Amazon Associates and Amazon.com are distinct from each other.) If you’re unwilling or unable to establish accounts with some of these advertisers, that’s all right. Just your Google AdSense account will do. If you’re serious about residual online income, a Google AdSense account is basic equipment.
Residual online income sites often put their own unique spin on revenue sharing. In my opinion, HubPages uses a relatively complex model, compared to most other sites. One of the complicated aspects is that of impression splitting. HubPages gives you 60% of the ad impressions on your hubs; in other words, 60% of the time the ads appearing on your hubs are linked to your affiliate accounts. The other 40% of the time, those ad i...

...w residual online income works. You must be comfortable with being an advertising affiliate and know something about affiliate marketing. You should be familiar with search engine optimization (SEO) and its capabilities. You’re required to be adept at backlinking, as well, if you want HubPages success. You should be knowledgeable about high-paying keywords and keyword research. Above all, you need to be acutely aware of traffic and how to get targeted traffic to your hubs.
The HubPages platform will look even more difficult to navigate as I learn more about it, I’m sure. Still, I am determined to give it a fair shake. What other choice is there! I couldn’t have imagined ever choosing to be a full-time internet marketer, but I’ll let you know how it goes. Residual online income of $1,500 per month is my goal -- and I’ll do whatever it takes to achieve it.

HubSpot is growing fast with market area. They are planning to get as big as they can as fast as they can. However, their company and product are still small and emphasizes that it will operate only inbound marketing. One of the best examples of affiliate marketing comes from retailer Amazon.com. Amazon has at least 30,000 affiliates and a 15% commission rate for sales of what they call “linked-to books.” Such a structure is not static, as Amazon now offers additional 5% commission on purchases made by shoppers brought to their site by an affiliate[1]. Such information indicates that even a media and ecommerce giant like Amazon has decided it pays to join forces with others and the benefits warrant paying others for the service!
Advertising has been round for centuries; starting with print ads, then evolving into radio and TV adverts. Each form of advertisement requires several different strategies in order to make the advertisement effective and appealing to the consumer. With the ever popular rising of the usage of the internet, online advertisements have also become more popular. According to Dr. David Evans, who received his Ph.D. in Economics, e-commerce, or sales processed online, were equal to 34 billion dollars as of 2008. After my days of selling postage meters were long over, and I was in my senior year of college, I decided to start my own company. I wrote two books on college admission and college life and marketed them through the internet. After three month of diligent work, I sold over 500 books and expanded the company to five employees. Since selling only two books was proving so successful, I decided to branch out and try my hands at an affiliate driven superstore. I partnered with web sites like Amazon.com and Reel.com and became officially licensed to sell their merchandise. My time and effort resulted in many visitors to my on-line superstore, but sales were few and far between. The business needed a change of direction.
Spotify is operating on “mixed advertising/freemium business model”. The freemium business model is based on idea that the company offers simple and basic services for free for the user to try and more advanced or additional features at a premium [3]. One important role in Spotify’s business model is having advertisers who generate revenue that is used to finance costs of free subscription. In other words, without ads, there would be no free music.
