Introduction
Potential hydrogen, what is it? These two words may appear as taboo for some people but when you abbreviate it, it comes out to be better known as pH. Potential Hydrogen (pH) is the measure of any solutions hydrogen-ion concentration. The range for pH is generally from zero to fourteen, with seven being neutral. If you measure any solution, if it is lower than the neutral amount of seven than that would be considered as it being more acidic and having less oxygen in its fluid but if it is higher than seven on the pH reading it will be considered as being oxygen rich and contains more of the alkaline product. Everything above seven is alkaline were as everything less than seven is acidic.
As human we have to maintain our homeostasis (balance). Everything about us has to stay in our natural range, if we don’t stay within that range our body will being to deteriorate and diseases and malfunctions will being to occur within us. Our natural blood pH has to stay in between a very narrow opening ranging from 7.35 - 7.45. The optimal blood for all humans is 7.4, anything below or above that will cause symptoms for disease and human body cells won’t act properly to maintain our human bodies and people will being to die off. As far as our digestion system, each organ has their own individual pH balances but I plan to stay focus on the pH of our mouths to narrow it down further, our saliva.
The potential hydrogen for our saliva is generally around 6.5 - 7.5, in the mouth this is where food tends to stay for up to a minute before being chewed and swallowed to the next phase of digestion which is the upper part of the stomach which holds the pH balance of 4.0 - 6.5. ...s it is healthy for you to consume a larger amount of this product. Water has no effect on the potential hydrogen of saliva nevertheless the potential hydrogen of the body, which means that water is not a harmful beverage to your diet or your body.
Consequently, due to the research I have found out about potential hydrogen and acidic, alkaline and neutral beverages and how they affect my diet and or health I choose to oppose the idea of removing such products like soda and some juices completing from my diet. Consuming a large amount of these products that the body could not handle, one then would need to completely remove such products from their diet so it would not cause harmful long term effects. Although these beverages may be delicious and convenient for the moment, removing them from your diet will lead to a healthier you and ultimately healthier lifestyle.
