Renaissance Artist: Sandro Boticelli

In this paper I will discuss whether or not Sandro Botticelli was a true renaissance artist or not. I will explore his past to learn about his early life up to being the great famous artist he is today. I will journey into his artwork and try to understand the essence of it being and how all of the wonders that he created came to be. Also walk back in time and see just what it was like to live within the renaissance period, to know what struggles and difficulties Sandro Botticelli went through just to become an artist.
The Life or Bibliography of Sandro Botticelli.
Sandro Botticelli, born as Alessandro Filipepi was born in Florence Italy in 1445, and lived out his life there until he died. Sandro began his career during the Italian Renaissance period, and even as a child he was always creative. Being the youngest of 5 children, his father allowed him to become an apprentice to one of the local goldsmiths. Over the time period of working with this goldsmith, he gave Sandro the nickname Botticelli which means “Little Barrel.” After a while he was able to convince his father to let him study painting. He did this by becoming an apprentice to the well known painter Fra Filippo Lippi. Fra Filippo Lippi was a well known painter and was known for how he used color on church altarpieces and helped Sandro discover his very own style of art that is equally famous.
Botticelli was quickly recognized and soon became a very gifted artist all by himself. When he was 15 years old, he opened his workshop and was dedicated to his own work.
