Recommended: Effects of social isolation

This song relates to my life because I am a drifter, despite my efforts and I am unable to stay in one place for a long period of time. Also constantly moving caused emotional pain not only for me but for my loved ones.Journey's “Wheel in the Sky” portrays that some people are drifters. Despite efforts to stay in one place they are powerless and contentiously move.
This song shows that there are people who are drifters. For example the song states “Winter is here again oh Lord, haven't been home a year or more,” wich shows that something had happened which caused him to leave home. Also the song states that “I've been runnin' down this dusty road, I've been trying to make it home,”which shows that he was doing everything in his power to make it back home but despite his efforts he is unable to make it home. Finally he states that “Wheel in the sky keeps on turnin'I don't know where I'll be tomorrow,” which means that things are constantly changing and at any point it could cause him to relocate.
Being a drifter also causes emotional pain. For example the songs says, “ I hope she holds on a little longer.” The hope of the drifter is that the one he left behind is still waiting with as much anticipation as he is. Trying to hold on to a long distance relationship is causing a painful strain on both of them. Will their love be strong enough to keep them together ? Or will they find a weakness that won't allow them to stand the test of time.
This song relates to my life perfectly. For example, “Wheel in the sky keeps on turning I don't know where I'll be tomorrow.” My home life was very unstable when I 12 years old, and at any point in time things could change and I would have to relocate...

It wouldn't have been so bad if we were able to break up and stay friends, but instead we became enemies.Which put a lot of strain on our relationship which caused a huge fight, and we haven't spoken since the and more than likely will never speak to each other again.
There for this song states that drifters are powerless to stay in one place, and that constantly moving causes emotional pain to the drifter and there loved ones. Journey's “Wheel in athe Sky” portrays that some people are drifters and despite efforts to stay in one place they are powerless and contentiously move. A message that has relevancy to my life.

You know almost immediately that it is about someone, and it is the middle of December, but without stating the obvious, it paints a more illustrated picture for you. When I normally think of a winter’s day, I think of people playing in the snow, and having a good time. This may be because I grew up in Southern California where there has been a lack of snow, but in my head, that is what I imagine. The image of children playing in the snow in my head has now turned to cold and dark emptiness. Reinstating my idea of emptiness, the next line follows with the simply statement, “I am alone”. Personally, I hate being alone. So to have the opening words place us in a deep and dark setting, and then state that you are alone, automatically puts me in a negative mindset.
