Reflection on My Smart Measure Assessment Results

Everyone has a different way of learning things; I like to think that I am a more visual learner. However, the smart measure assessment has brought to my attention that I may actually have multiple ways of learning. The assessment has actually informed me of a lot of my strengths in each section but the sections that caught my attention are Learning Styles, Reading Rate & Recall, Technical Competency, and Technical knowledge.
Throughout my years in school I have always caught on to a new topic after seeing some sort of example accompanying the lesson, which is why I would consider myself more of a visual learner. According to the Smart Measure Assessment I am primarily an Aural and Solitary learner. An Aural learner is someone who uses music or musical techniques as a strategy to learn something, after thinking about it I will partially agree that this is accurate because I tend to link songs to a past events and certain topics I have learned but it isn’t my primary way of learning because it happens unintentionally. When my tests are distributed to my students, I make sure to read the directions of each section of the students and ask my students if they need any more clarification on the section directions. If students forget the directions while the test is taking place, I make it a point to clarify for them in private and then announce to the class a reminder for each section. I want my students to do well on tests and gain confidence that they understand the concepts being tested, but I want my students to be self-motivated and self-reliant and to not look to their partners for the answers.
