Some of the reasons for gun control are that it will help the government get a control on us.Hitler in world war 2 used gun control against the jewish people to better control and corral them. Historians have documented most everything about it except what made it so easy to attack the defenseless Jews without fear of resistance. Their guns were registered and thus easily confiscated.(stephen halbrook)If the government started registering guns and know their location left and right they could overthrow us with a flick of their wrist. Imagine your local police coming to your doorstep in your house and taking your only good form of self defense. Then turning right around and kidnapping your children and kids and including yourself.I mean thats what the jews were facing during the holocaust. This is why so people do not support gun control for fear of government taking over us and loss of their guns.also some people use guns to provide food for their family thru the form of hunting.you take away their guns you take away their ability to provide for their family.I believe the government doesn't have a right to take our guns to get a hold on us.But its actually better when the government lets us carry weapons around in our everyday lives. The 31 states that have “shall issue” laws allowing private citizens to carry concealed weapons have, on average, a 24 percent lower violent crime rate, a 19 percent lower murder rate and a 39 percent lower robbery rate than states that forbid concealed weapons.(David Lampo)In fact, the nine states with the lowest violent crime rates are all right-to-carry states.(David lampo)Concealed handguns set up rules of self authority throughout the state that are in.basically it an you want to shoot me i'll ... ... middle of paper ... ...defeated and another country was coming for us.we could use our guns to fight back and possible win.The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states: "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."(Jonathan masters)this statement states that we have a right law abiding citizens on not to have guns.also a well trained military to protect us against foreign invaders.if the government took guns all we have would be lost. we use guns in the military every single day by all branch of the military.we use them for just the fun of shooting, and target practice.we use them for hunt for animals that we use for meat.we use them as a job to provide for the ones we love.so go ahead and try to take our guns govermentWhen so many people rely on guns every single day.
One other thing is that policemen can not always prevent every crime that occurs. According to the FBI Crime report, a crime is committed every 2.7 seconds. Americans need to be able to own guns so they can protect themselves if ever the need arise. Even if they take guns away, there are people that are still going to be able to get guns illegally, and they will be killing and murdering people that have their guns taken away by the government. Americans have the right to protect themselves, mainly if someone were to invade our country.
The first reason handguns should be outlawed for ordinary citizens is because their main purpose is simply to kill other human beings. Why would our country allow us to have the right to own an object that is deadly? Our government seems to want to protect us. For example, seatbelt laws and motorcycle helmet laws were created to protect our lives. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) enforces pollution laws to keep us safe and healthy. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) inspects food and tests drugs to make sure American citizens are not harmed by nasty food and dangerous drugs. Yet, our government allows just about anybody to own and walk around with guns. It does not appear our government really cares about our safety. If it did, handguns would be outlawed for the general public, because their only purpose is to kill people.
...iminals would be able to get guns illegally if they wanted them (Smith 25). It comes down to the age old saying of “guns do not kill people, people kill people.” The ability to keep and bear arms is also a right given to the American people by the Bill of Rights and was reinstated when one of the framers, Thomas Jefferson, said, “No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.”
Take a look at the history of our country and the role guns have played in it. According to the second amendment gun ownership is perfectly legal and guaranteed as a right. There were and are good reasons for this, luckily they are still practiced today. Back in the day guns used to be for hunting and, on the occasion self defense. But when the colonists of this country had enough of British rule, they picked up there own personal guns and went to war and the British saw first hand how powerful the rough band of average American gun owners were. Our forefathers knew that the general population if armed would be key in winning the war. And it was.
The founding fathers stated in the constitution that individuals are allowed to possess firearms. Ownership of firearms is essential for the general population. It is much better to own a gun and not ever need to use it than to be in a life or death situation in which a gun could save your life, but not have access to one. Home burglaries are a real occurrence and a firearm can ensure that you and your family aren’t harmed. If there was ever a larger terrorist attack, gun owners would be more appreciated. Those in favor of gun control would realize that firearms aren’t so bad after all. Also, the government should not have to regulate how many guns a person can own. There are many gun enthusiasts who enjoy weapons and collect them living in the United States. America is a free country and that is what makes it so great. If an individual wants to own a crazy amount of guns, he should be able to as long as the law is not being broken and no one is being harmed. Just as other citizens are allowed to have extensive collections of random things, gun owners should be allowed to do the same. Firearms help prevent freedom and liberty from being taken away from the American
The police are not everywhere all the time. If someone is trying to kill you what are you supposed to do, wait for the police to arrive? No, you defend yourself and whats yours by all means necessary. Also, there are many states that have concealed weapons permits, this allows citizens who pass a background check and safety training to carry their gun on them in person. This is also widely debated on whether its safe or not. Its not a bad idea though. There are many instances where citizens have saved peoples lives during robberies or mass shootings because they have there firearms on them. Everyone deserves the right to feel safe in their homes and in public. If a firearm is necessary for this to happen then its what is needed. Some people would argue that guns kill and that some people who own guns are responsible for mass shootings. The individual who fired the weapon is responsible for the killing not the firearm. People think if you take the guns away it solves the problem but it doesn't. Criminals and some people will still get firearms at any cost. The right to bear arms is yours and you shouldn't allow the government to take that right. In 1928, Germany the Nazis created a firearm registration and by the early 1930's they used this registration system to locate and confiscate firearms. With the population disarmed and a firearm ban in place the public had no way to defend
Our country was founded on the basis of guns. The wars were won with guns and the people were protected by guns. Guns were so important that they were placed in the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution:
After the many shootings in schools over the past two years, many people believe guns should be made illegal for civillians to posses or purchase guns. While this may make it difficult for minors, drug addicts, and people with mental deficiencies to get hold on a gun, The Constitution allows all citizens to possess arms to defend themselves, their families', and their property. However if guns were made illegal, there would still be people who would smuggel guns. If a burgular were to smuggle a gun in to someone's home, that man or woman should be allowed to posses a gun to defend theirself.
From a consensus from 2008, there were over 16,000 murders in the United States, and from these 16,000 murders, 10,000 were from firearms alone (Gun Control – Just Facts). Some of these murders happen over unnecessary arguments. It’s impossible to confiscate every single gun from every American that owns one. The true fact behind that is it will only leave guns in the hands of criminals. Then the average citizen can’t defend him/or her when there is a home invasion. But if the United States makes it so that it’s harder to get a license and gun, these tools of destruction will be in the hands of less people.
No matter if the government enacts more gun control laws or not, guns will always find their way in to the wrong hands. If the government takes away all guns then who 's not to say it won 't lead to a tyrannical government that turns on the masses. You also have a right to protect yourself and property with any weapon you chose especially if own your guns legally. Gun control will decide on what type of firearms a person can have. If a person obtains their firearms legally then why should they have to suffer because of a couple bad people 's actions? With gun control, how will people then be able to form a militia and stop foreign troops from invading and taking over the country God forbid the day ever comes. We 'll need heavy weaponry to fight back.
America is changing, the country that once was based on religious ideas is slowly becoming history, to the point that we can lose all traces of the America that was founded in 1776. As the days continue there is a continuous battle over the public possessing guns. A large portion believes and supports laws preventing civilians from owning military style rifles. With the growing support, these supports are trying to get guns all together out of the hands of people. With the recent mass shootings, Sandy Hook, Aurora, Colorado, and Virginia Tech, causing big support of these laws, many people fear that losing guns to the government will allow for criminals to do anything they want because civilians wont have a way to protect themselves. If guns are removed, the crime will increase, and there is more potential for foreign attacks to be held on U.S. soil.
Taking guns away from people would make it harder for them to protect themselves and their property. If an intruder was to come into a person’s home, and if guns were outlawed due to excessive gun control, then that person would have to protect themselves by some other means. Overt gun control could put a person’s life and their property in danger. However, because of the Second Amendment found in the Bill of Rights, a U.S. Citizen has the right to own and bear arms. It seems the government would just dig themselves in a hole if they were to try to remove that amendment. They would have to deal with Congress and all the pe...
As you can see if guns were eliminated from our society we would be at a serious loss. Our freedoms would be in jeopardy, our individual safety would be questionable and a significant industry in our country would be at a deficit. The quote that "Guns don't kill people, people kill people" is even more pertinent today. .
Gun control is an awfully big issue in the United States today. Many people in America don’t agree with the gun control laws that they have today. Gun control laws only take guns and freedom away from law-abiding citizens. Many citizens have their own reasons for owning a gun. Why would the government want to make it harder for people to own a gun? People that own guns aren’t very likely to be attacked by criminals. Owning a handgun is one of the best ways of protection when used correctly. The second amendment states “the right to bear arms”; does this grant everyone the right to own a gun? Gun control laws have not been proven to do anything for citizens. Gun control laws just make it harder for the good guy average Joe to own a gun. Gun control laws are not a good idea, and are taking part in the loss of our freedom that was given to us.
Guns have always been a problem in the United States. No matter what the government does gangs and potential threats end up with fire arms that can be dangerous for other people. Even though that happens I absolutely support guns, I would go to the shooting range with my father all the time back in Florida. When you really think about it, if guns were taken from us, what stops gangs or potentially dangerous people who end up with guns illegally from shooting people who do not have guns to protect themselves? I think that guns have never been the problem, the only problem is the person. Guns do not kill people, people kill people.
