Recommended: An analysis of raisin in the sun

The Raisin in the Sun is a movie about a colored family who is trying to make it. There are five family members who all live in the same small two bedroom apartment. They all know that things are about to change because they know that Mama Younger is about to get a 10,000 check from where her husband had passed away recently. Each family member have their own dreams about what they want to do with the money, but they just don’t want to ask Mama if they could use it for their dreams, especially Walter Lee; her son. Right before Mama gets the check in the mail, the whole family gets surprised by some news from Ruth, who is Walter Lee’s wife. Ruth ends up finding out that she is pregnant, and that she wants to get rid of the baby because she knows that there is no way that they could afford another child, nor do they have the room for it. The day Mama gets the check in the mail is the day that Walter Lee comes home to ask him mom if he could have some of the money so that him and his friends could buy a liquor store. After this point in the movie or play, is where all the trouble and happiness begins.
Walter Lee and Willy Loman are a like because they both want to do good for their family. They want to give their children a life that neither one of them have never had before. Willy Loman was a salesman who use to go out on trips until he last one, because he nearly crashed several times. Since Willy no longer can go out on trips he decides to get a job in town. Before he starts the job his condition gets worse as time progresses. Once it’s time for Willy to go in to meet his new boss, he is happy and excited to start his new job, but then he gets bad news. ...y and he will be moving into the house no matter hard they have to work to stay there. Willy has to maintain his human dignity by not going out on sales trips because of the problems he is having. Instead of going on trips he decides that he needs to stay in town, to help him and his family. Also, to maintain his human dignity he decides that he needs to tell his sons at the restaurant that he didn’t get the job; even though by the end of the story he ended up getting killed.
Both of these stories show that you can’t always think about yourself, that you also have to think about your family also. They both show that you always have to try hard to make a better life for your family, and that most of the time everything isn’t handed to you. To me I think the moral of both of these stories is that sometimes you have to sacrifice your dreams for other people’s dreams.
