Growing up in an era of rapid advancement in technology. It can be seen almost everywhere we go. Does this make it a good thing? Well there does not seem to be a way of stopping it. So let us just hope it is for the better of humanity. Technology is advancing so exponentially quickly. It really is quite hard to believe just ten years ago; people were using film in cameras and played music from a compact disk holding 15-20 songs. Nowadays people take thousands of digital pictures and listen to hundreds of songs from one device they can fit in their hand. So is new technology helping the medical sector cure patients faster and more frequently than ever before? Or is it simply giving every child in our country a pair of square eyes and a short temper? Something as simple and so commonly used like social networking sites could help drastically as scientists can stay in touch more easily. A supercomputer called ‘Watson’ has been developed to expand the health industry and soon doctors will potentially be able to rely on it to keep track of patient history, stay up-to-date on medical research and analyze treatment options. However it is also known that over the last 20 years the amount of obese and overweight children has risen greatly. Technology and any media based devices are some of the main contributers to this problem - they can lead to very serious health issues and in some serious cases, psychiatrist are strongly recommended. Technology also has impacts on peoples social lives. I personally have made many friends through the social side of oline gaming however I am sure, like mine, many mothers totally disapprove. I have also lost many girlfriends through technology as well. Playing endless hours of Call of Duty is not a... ... middle of paper ... ... that how everyone refers to them as; and what qualifies being a hacker? Someone who can rob your bank account in under a minute when your naïve child clicks a link some random person sent you? Having had personal experiences on both ‘ends of the stick’ I have realized just how interesting yet dangerous things can get. Hacking has its perks, whether it is to gain invincibility on a computer game or to make a mockery of America’s defense and try to prove aliens exist. It however, can be very, very serious though when both lives and money are on the line; so how do we stop it? Or is it too late? In conclusion, it is clear that many people feel technology brings fantastic, new amd innovative ideas to the world. However as one looks at the bigger picture it becomes apparent that the dangers come into play and the ages old traditions of pen and paper go out.
