With using this method and collecting all this information, one becomes very knowledgeable of the subject, which makes it easier for the researcher to connect with their work. By the connection made between the subject and researcher, the researcher will then have a different in-depth perception of the case. In the book Introduction to Research: Less Fright, More Insight: a Customized Version of Research Methods: Are You Equipped?, the author defines a case study as “an in-depth observation of an individual, animal, event, or treatment method (pp. 73).” In this paper, the student will be writing a case study about herself, and she will explain what it is that she has learned about research. More importantly, the student will then evaluate her experience from a biblical, Christian perspective.
For the qualitative paper, my research question is what do people think about Colin Kaepernick kneeling for the national anthem in order to protest social injustice (police brutality against African Americans). I will attempt to research how football and non-football fans feel about Kaepernick protesting and if they think kneeling for the national anthem was the most effective method of protest. I will also try to answer how would football and non-football fans perceive the Kaepernick situation if it was about another social issue or in another sport and if they think athletes should or should not be allowed to protest in sports. I as well will ask other open ended questions in order to prevent obtaining biased information from my interviews.

Within scientific research there is always a strong debate between those that prefer quantitative methods and those who prefer qualitative ones. proponents of quantitative methods have built the standards in experimental research and in researches performed on a large number of subjects and which use sampling criteria and statistical analysis techniques. Case studies are a collection of data obtained using various methods gathered on an individual or group to record areas of interest in order to assist with analysis and provide recommendations.
