Porting and Polishing is a step by step process. There are many steps to Porting and Polishing, six to be exact. There are many tools that will be needed in this process too. Porting and Polishing is just basically when you just smooth out the ports where the air flows through the head into the cylinder without restriction. You will get two effects out of this. You will have more horsepower do to colder and more denser air. You will also get better gas mileage. This research paper will discuss how to port and polish a head.
First step would be rounding everything up. You will need the head or heads if you have a v type or boxer engine. You will need to take all of the guts out of the head such as the valves, cam/cams if its an over head cam, and put them in a hot tank or soak them in brake parts cleaner and put the head in a hot tank to get all of the corroded up oil and gunk out of it. You will also need your tools such as a dye grinder, sand paper, the tools to tune the engine after the head is back on, the tools to take apart and put the head back together with. A torque wrench will definitely be needed in this process. You will also need someone or if you're going to buy a laptop for tuning, the app you need to download for the tuning process and you will need to ship your ECU chip to get flashed and that basically just makes the engine relearn the power and torque of it. If you do not do this you will have worse gas mileage and just the same power as you did before because the computer/ecu will limit it.
The second step would be to start on the porting and polishing. First off you will need to remove your valves, cam and all other components. After everything is removed you will need to port the intake and exhaust ports as ...

...u take the head off you will need to put a new head gasket back on because the old one has already been compressed. So the cost for the first one would be anywhere from 400-1200 dollars. The simplest and cheapest way will only cost you the head gasket and your tools needed; About 200 dollars.
My conclusion to my Porting and Polishing project paper. The things that i talked were the step by step process, everything that you will need, how to port and polish, the main effects that you will get out of porting and polishing and the overall cost of everything depending on if you do a whole head job. This will benefit you in some ways if you like low end torque/ take off speed/ put you back in your seat power and better gas mileage. But i mean who doesn't like better gas mileage. Thank you for listening to this big long process on how to port and polish your head/ heads.
This paper has informed you on multiple parts and operations of 7.3 litre injectors. Listing their parts, both internal and external. How the entire system works as one, and how it makes the engine run. Without fuel of some sort the engine would not run. So with this research paper I hope you have learned something.
Fill the transmission with ATF fluid. I like doing this at this point since the exhaust isn't in the way yet.
There was always a demand for trucks with the comfort of a passenger car, or a passenger car with the load capacity of a truck. In response to this demand Ford released the Ranchero in 1957. To compete with Ford’s Ranchero, Chevrolet created the El Camino whose first release occurred in 1959. Over the years, Chevy has made several modifications to the El Camino to improve performance and style. Since Chevy stopped producing the El Camino in 1987, it has become a collectible classic. This essay will focus on several of the engine and body modifications that were made between 1957 and 1987.

First, you need to figure out what type of oil your car uses and how many quarts of oil are needed. This information can be found in your owners manual along with the type of oil filter your car takes. It is an essential step because there are many different types of engine oil and it is important to use the correct type. Same rule applies to your oil filter. There is a specific oil filter designed for each car. Can’t find the owners manual? Run to your local auto parts store and they can look it up for you. While you’re there, you can pick up your oil and oil filter. Also needed for the project is an adjustable wrench or a socket wrench, and an oil filter wrench. A jack along with two jack stands comes in handy when having enough room to work under the car. Wheel blocks are go...
Automobiles are American's second largest investment after real estate. It is impoprtant to understand how to keep your car performing at its best.
The first step is finding out how much oil your car holds and what kind of oil filter fits on your cars engine. Your car's owner's manual will have a capacity section in the back, down the list till you come to the engine oil capacity, and the chart will list the number of quarts that your car needs. Also on most new cars when you can look on the oil cap it should state the oil weight which is recommended by the cars manufacturer. Then you need to go to the local parts house (I prefer Advance or Orileys) get the brand of oil that you prefer in the recommended weight, and quantity. When you pay, you can get the part number for the oil filter, all you have to know is the make of the car and the motor size and they should be able to find the information and then tell you which filter belongs on the car. Remember to get an oil filter wrench to remove the filter of with if don't already have one.
First off what are some injector parts? Some of the injector parts are the nozzles, injector port plug, and the injector top filter. The nozzle is located on the part of the injector that gets inserted in the cylinder to spray the fuel into the cylinder. The injector has to spray a certain way or all the fuel will not get burned inside the cylinder. The next important part on the injectors is the injector port plug. The port plug is what stops the fuel from running inside the cylinder. If fuel does run into the cylinder that cylinder will flood out and cause that cylinder to be dead. The only way the port plug should open is when the fuel pressure exceeds the certain pressure to open the port plug to let the fuel go to the injector nozzle. The...

For instance, if you own a midsize sedan from a manufacturer such as Dodge or Chevrolet, have driven it about 150,000 miles over 10 years, you may find that a dealer would credit you somewhere between $1,500 and $2,000 for a trade. Or you can sell it yourself and possibly get an additional $500 or $750. This is a general example, but it will give you the current value of your car.
You’re going to have to have a pair of pliers, a set of wrenches, a socket and ratchet set, extensions for rachet, and a set of line wrenches. First you’re going to take the fuel line off with a drain pan under it, let the fuel drain out of the pump and what little bit that comes out of the line. After the fuel is drained carefully remove the drain pan (you will need it again later). Now take the wrench and ratchet sets and open them up. Grab the 10mm socket and ratchet to go with it, and a 2’’ extension. The two bolts are on the left and right hand side of the fuel pump, or the front or rear of the motor [ the fuel pump is on passenger side of the motor]. 1998 was a big year for the Camaro. It received a major refreshening with body upgrades including a new front fascia, a new hood, composite reflector headlamps, and new fenders. The 1998 model also received chassis upgrades, a new 4-wheel disc brake system and a new anti-lock brake system (ABS). But the biggest upgrade was the all new LS1 V8 engine for the Camaro Z28. This new engine produces 335 horsepower. That’s more than twice the standard horsepower offered in the 1982 Z28, to shine a little perspective on the state of modern high-performance.
Michael Porter tells us how the life cycle works through stages, first of which is the development phase, into the introduction, growth, maturity, and decline. Hunsk motors didn’t carefully take into account each phase of its product sold, and lacked the ability to connect consumers towards the motorcycles identity. By introducing...
In my undergraduate years, I have acquired a strong background in the fundamentals of basic mechanical engineering, having studied subjects such as Strength of Materials, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat and Mass Transfer, Design of Machine Elements and Automobile Engineering. Whilst pursuing my diploma & degree courses, my interest for Automotive Engineering grew even more having learnt more on the different types of internal combustion engines, their configuration and importance. However, what I lacked was a practical understanding on these core areas of Automotive Engineering. To gain a better understandi...
