Childhood history has a lot to do with how we live as adults because certain childhood events
could trigger something that would last a life time. Take for example if a child fails at something
and the parent does nothing to help the child, the child will grow up thinking that failing is alright and that
he or she will have a hard time in life with their job or in school or life in general. Many events from a
persons’ life can stick with the person throughout their life like a thorn in the side. The event will every so
often reappear in the persons mind when some event in the present triggers a familiarity with the past event

Somewhere around the beginning of the seventeenth century, the perception of the nature of childhood -- its duration, its perceived purpose, its requirements, its quality -- changed rather significantly in the Eurocentric world, a period Valerie Suransky identifies as a watershed for the modern notion of childhood (1982, p. 6). Actually, two things seemed to have happened: first, the idea of childhood as a separate developmental stage began to arise; second, the idea of who was deserving of childhood also began to broaden. The pattern was similar in Europe and America, with some minor variations which resulted from geography, religion, etc., but the differences are inconsequential. Generally speaking, the factors which influenced this change are the view of the nature of humankind, the development of industry, urbanization, parents themselves, and the women's movement.

In explaining where animism comes from and how it relates to religion, Guthrie begins by providing two definitions of animism. In order to further these definitions, Guthrie presents "A Cognitive Theory", with the premise that religion is simply a system of anthropomorphism; which is defined as "the over-detection of human like qualities" in the world around us. This attribution of life to lifeless things is Guthrie 's concept of animism, he claims that animism is derived from our need to ascribe agents to the occurrences in the world around us. Fastow was skimming from Enron by ripping off the con artists who showed him how to steal, by hiding Enron debt in dummy corporations, and getting rich off of it. Opportunity theory is ever present because since this scam was done once without penalty, it was done plenty of more times with ease. Skilling however, was the typical amoral nerd, with delusions of grandeur, who wanted to mess around with others because he was ridiculed as a kid, implementing an absurd rank and yank policy that led to employees grading each other, with the lowest graded people being fired. Structural humiliation played a direct role in shaping Skilling's thoughts and future actions. Investors and the media once considered Enron to be the company of the future. The company had detailed code of ethics and powerful front men like Kenneth Lay, who is the son of a Baptist minister and whose own son was studying to enter the ministry (Flynt 1). Unfortunately the Enron board waived the company’s own ethic code requirements to allow the company’s Chief Financial Officer to serve as a general partner for the partnership that Enron was using as a conduit for much of its business. They also allowed discrepancies of millions of dollars. It was not until whistleblower Sherron S. Watkins stepped forward that the deceit began to unravel. Enron finally declared bankruptcy on December 2, 2001, leaving employees with out jobs or money.
