Scary Story

I looked up at the black sky. I hadn't intended to be out this late. The sun had set, and the empty road ahead had no streetlights. I knew I was in for a dark journey home. I had decided that by traveling through the forest would be the quickest way home. Minutes passed, yet it seemed like hours and days. The farther I traveled into the forest, the darker it seemed to get. I was very had to even take a breath due to the stifling air. The only sound familiar to me was the quickening beat of my own heart, which felt as though it was about to come through my chest. I began to whistled to take my mind off the eerie noises I was hearing. In this kind of darkness I was in, it was hard for me to believe that I could be seeing these long finger shaped shadows that stretched out to me. Essay on Soup: A Scary Short Story - Soup “Lets take a break.” Eva panted as she threw down her heavy backpack on a small patch of blooming daisies next to the trail. It was about 5o’clock in the afternoon, and the sun hid behind a small piece of cloud giving the sky an orange hue. Bathed in the golden sunshine were lush pine trees, giving off a faint, sweet fragrance. “We have been hiking for hours. I am dead tired.” “Well, we won’t be here if you didn’t wander off onto the other trail. You were the one that lead us here!” Sarah grumbled and shot Eva a glare....   [tags: trail, camp, hike, old couple] 1411 words

The Abandoned House Essay - ... The tree looked like it had never had its branches trimmed, they were thick and had Spanish moss hanging down and covered almost the entire yard and the top of the house. After looking around the exterior of the house we decided to see if there was any way to get inside of the house. We checked the windows that we would be able to crawl though and finally found one that was unlocked....   [tags: personal scary story] 597 words

School Was a Scary Place Essay - While the sun was beaming at 8am, we began to enter one by one marching in like miniature soldiers. I noticed that the room was small, no bigger than a bedroom and there were no faces that I was familiar with. I took a seat and started to soak up my surroundings. The room was very dim. The colors were the least of importance here. There were no windows, which contributed to the lifeless room. I should have known it wasn’t going to be a good day. This prison cell was the least of my worries on my first day of school....   [tags: personal story and reflection] 654 words

Scary Night - Original Writing Essay - Scary Night - Original Writing I was now ready to depart after the party, exiting my Cousin’s house. It was a Halloween party. It was a lot of fun; to be honest the party seemed to be quite good. It was suppose to be scary, but now that I come to see it does not compare to how I felt later on during the night. You see the difference is looking at all the story I have heard about Halloween, this one that I have experienced seems a lot more realistic and frightening. I had no choice but to walk home by myself, because of the complicated story my mom told me (which of course I was not listening to)....   [tags: Papers] 511 words

Essay about What is scary in Frankenstein? - What is scary in Frankenstein. In her 1831 introduction Mary Shelley relays her task, to “awaken thrilling horror- none to make the reader dread to look round, to curdle the blood, and quicken the beatings of the heart.” In the nineteenth century, horror, fear and disgust were the proper responses to creations that failed to conform to neoclassical aesthetic ideals of unified ideals, harmonious composition of parts in simple regularity and proportion. Victor’s overwhelming feelings of horror and disgust on seeing his hideously disproportionate creature come to life display the reaction of society to Frankenstein as a novel (Fred Botting.) In general, people were far more religious then and w...   [tags: English Literature] 2114 words
