Violence in our schools is an issue that has become more prominent in the last few years. News articles about violent deeds within the school setting are on the increase. Our society demands that schools are safe for our children. In order to maintain a peaceful environment for all, we must address and inform our schools, children, and parents as well as the neighboring communities about the issue of school violence. As David W. Johnson, the author of Reducing School Violence states, “To eliminate violence and resolve destructive conflicts, schools must first admit that such conflicts are out of control.” (Johnson 7) Schools in general must identify with these issues in order to deal with them.
If violence in schools is to be controlled, the entire school community must take a proactive stance against violence. Since the setting is the school, it should follow that the schools are responsible and liable for maintaining violent free environments. This proactive stance can be accomplished by holding seminars informing students, parents, and neighboring communities of what is taking place in the school on a regular basis. Educators and administrators should inform the student body and the community of any precautions and safety measure to take if a violent event should occur. Any type of violence in the school setting should be fully addressed in order to prevent further altercations from occurring.
Student seminars that inform students of violent behavior and clearly state consequences are becoming a very popular trend across the U.S. Francis Hoang, of the FBI Law Enforcement Agency believes that each school should make sure that they are aware of what is going on and to include this vital information in a presentation to t...

This journal is about how schools should take every violent act very seriously and to look into it so it does not get worse.
She is an inspiring women whose been hidden for far too long. By one brave woman our world will be forever thankful. She spoke the voice of many African Americans who probably did not have the courage to say no to the bus driver to give up her seat. She was sometimes known as the "Mother of the Civil Rights Movements" because of her sense of leadership and justice. Rosa Parks was an inspiration to people because she stood up for herself! Even though she went to jail because of that, she proves to other people that she will not change her ways of living. Rosa Parks is very inspirational to me because she taught me to stick up for myself and to stick up for what I believe in. She is my inspiration and I would recommend people to research and do a paper on her. She is a strong woman who cared about equality. She changed how our world is now of days.
One day on December 1, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, Rosa Parks took a seat on the bus on her way home from the Montgomery Fair department store where she worked as a seamstress. The bus driver demanded her to move back and Rosa refused. She was arrested that day for vio...
Rosa Parks, North American hero, or North American tragedy it depends on how you view her. Born in Tuskegee, Alabama on February 4, 1913, she was raised in an era during segregation which was normal and that black suppression was a normal way of life. Her mother worked as a school teacher at the school in Tuskegee. Rosa's father, James McCauley, worked as a carpenter. After her brother, Sylvester, was born, their dad had left them. He was cheated out on his land and couldn't support the family anymore. Her mom, brother and herself, then moved in with their grandparents. She finished High school in 1933, and continued her education at Alabama State College. She married in 1932 to a barber named Raymond Parks. She worked as an insurance salesperson, a clerk, and a tailor’s assistant in a department store. She also was employed as a seamstress by a white resident of Montgomery, who was a supporter of black Americans str...
Do you know why Rosa Parks is a hero? She helped a lot in this world and if it wasn’t for her our world would still be like in the old times. When she stated, “The only tired I was, was tired of giving in” (Parks cover), that’s when she decided to do something for her and her people. “When that happened, we black people were supposed to give up our seats to the whites. But I didn’t move”, this is how it all started (Parks pg. 1). Rosa Parks was a hero because she made change in the civil-rights movement, compelled to end segregation.
In conclusion, School Violence is a widespread issue that must be addressed. School shootings and bullying are some of the biggest issues in today’s school system. Many times the seed of the issue begins with bullying and ends with consequences like suicide and school shootings. They affect people as early as elementary school all the way to the college level, some even ending with death. Only together can we stop school violence if we take a stand and change the world.
School violence has become an increased peril, affecting not only those involved, but the society in itself. The underlying reason for this phenomenon is that it is derived from bullying and easy access of weapons. It can even happen by the hands of a person who does not attend the school where the act takes place. Bullying has become an epidemic in America amongst school children. Though there are rules enforced about weapons at school, the weapon is usually not detected until the incident takes place. I have witnessed violence in the form of fighting while in school, however, I have never imagined that it has become so aggressive and affects children at younger ages. We must take a bold stand to stop these incidents from occurring!
Lung cancer is the uncontrolled growth of many cells that appears in one lung or even both. This type of cancer generally lines the air passages in the lungs. These uncontrolled cells grow, not becoming cell tissue, but into tumors (Crosta). Tumors form because the abnormal cells in the lungs are not the right lung cells. They are mutated and cannot be killed like normal. Once the known tumors become oversized, they take over and cause the lung or lungs not to do their jobs (Crosta). There is primary Lung Cancer and secondary. Primary lung cancer is treated differently than secondary because, primary starts in the lungs, while secondary starts somewhere else in the body, making its way to the lungs. Lung cancer is grouped in two categories ' which are non-small cell and small cell (Marks). There are four different types of cancer.
Lung cancer is one of the most common types of cancers in the world. There are three main types of lung cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, small cell lung cancer, and lung carcinoid tumor. Just like any other cancer, lung cancer is dangerous, and a life threatening problem. Many studies and researches have been presented to find a cure, but an exact cure has yet to be found. There are however multiple causes, ways to diagnose, and treatments for lung cancer.

Diagnosed with lung cancer, now what!? Time to do some research. Lung cancer is the number one cause of deaths in males and females. The causes, diagnosis, and treatment of lung cancer have advanced recently with new technology available to scientists and the medical profession. Lung cancer develops when the cells grow abnormally and tumors form instead of healthy lung tissue. It can take place in one or both lungs, normally the cells that line the air passages. Not all tumors are cancerous, the ones that do not spread are benign tumors. The more tumors that develop in the lungs will cause the lungs to work less efficiently. The metastatic tumors spread to other parts of the body passing through the blood stream or lymphatic system.
Violence in schools is a huge problem. It is estimated that in the U.S. about 50 million students are enrolled ranging from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade (Ten Hard Facts about School Violence). School is meant to be a safe haven for children to come and have the opportunity to learn. Violence can inhibit this learning and can even leave children scarred from their experience. School violence includes victimization, teacher injury, bullying, school fights, weapons, and student use of drugs and alcohol. The area is not limited to the campus and also includes walking to or from school or a school event (About School Violence).
TIME names Hayao Miyazaki “the world’s most revered director of animated features” (Corliss). The New York Times says “Miyazaki is regarded as one of the greatest creators of animated films, and his work certainly stands as some of the best the genre has to offer”, and names him “the world’s greatest living animated-filmmaker” (“Hayao Miyazaki – Biography”; Scott). Axiom Magazine describes Miyazaki as a “living legend” (Miller). With over fifty years of animation experience, Miyazaki has worked hard to achieve his dream of creating long-lasting and unforgettable films. He started off this long career in 1963 working as nothing more than an in-between artist at Toei Animation, and gradually set himself apart and eventually landed employment as the chief animator for Hols: Prince of the Sun in 1968. This set into motion his friendship with Isao Takahata, who would continue working with Miyazaki and eventually found Studio Ghibli alongside him. After several years of co-direction and first roles as a solo director, Miyazaki worked on Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, the project that gave him the ability to finally form Studio Ghibli with Takahata (Miller).
Religion plays an enormous role in the history of mankind. Wars have been fought over it, lives have been surrounded by it, and it has directly or indirectly shaped the lives of many individuals. Culture and religion play a large role in developing each other. People’s religion is decided by their culture. The prominence or the lack of religion will develop someone’s religious identity have play a core role in determining what that person believes.
Violence in American schools has triggered debates on the root cause of student’s anger and aggressive behavior and proposed proactive solutions.
