What is Business Studies?
Business studies is the study of how businesses are set up, financed,
organised and controlled, how people are employed, managed and paid, how
goods are developed, produced and sold, how goods and services are
priced and how the local, national and international government help or
hinder businesses.
In studying the setting up of a business there are many aspects that
need to be considered. Such as the type of business ownerships which
are suitable for the entrepreneur, where the capital will be coming
from, what goods or services could be considered to sell and where the
business should be located. The extensive amount of research, which is
carried out before the business operates, is also studied.
There are many sources of finance open to the entrepreneur, which also
need to be studied in depth. The business owner has to set the right
price for its goods or services - a price which is of convenience to the
consumer and which is affordable for the owner. This is possible by
using break-even analysis, and again market research. Owners ...
In order for a politician to make his way up the ranks, he usually needs to build a strong intra-ethnic coalition followed by inter-ethnic support. This can be a difficult task because the the politician has to please everyone, which makes him seem “bland” to his original supporters.

Answer: A very important aspect of leadership that will build trust is leading by example. Leading by example is what Kouzes and Posner call, “modeling the way” (Kouzes & Posner, 2012). Leaders that inspire others through example know that their team is watching their every move. They are watching to see how motivated the leader is, how committed to the process they are and how truthful they are even when lying would be easier. These leaders build strong teams by always setting the example.
This article examines the relationship between transformational leadership, cognitive trust, and collective efficacy, in addition to the impact of these variables has on team performance. With the increasing competition in every market, organizations are using teams as the key feature of sustainable competitive advantage. Organizations continue to highlight how forming teams are crucial to their success and that team performance impacts their bottom-line. While team performance is critical to organizational success, the team leader is the dominant one to ascertain the group’s performance. Meaning, leaders must possess the required leadership styles and techniques to discern how to build great teams. One of the most popular theories of leadership
When many think of the times of immigration, they tend to recall the Irish Immigration and with it comes the potato famine of the 1840s' however, they forget that immigrants from the Emerald Isle also poured into America during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The assimilation and immigration of the Irish has been difficult for each group that has passed through the gates of Ellis Island or South Boston. Like every group that came to America, the Irish were looked down upon; yet, in the face of discrimination, political, social and economic oppression, the Irish have been a testament to the American Dream as their influence in the political and business world increases with each generation. The tradition and family upbringings of the Irish culture has served as the bridge to allow the "great race" to both prosper and persevere through the hardest of times. Although Irish immigrants were mixed into and not originally part of American culture, they enriched their new country with their cultural contributions, active participation in politics, and their wealth of influential individuals.
To start my answer related to trust, I would like to start with few quotes that shows the power of trust like, “without trust we don’t truly collaborate, we merely coordinate or at bets cooperate. It is trust that transforms a group of people into a team “- Stephen M.R Covey
I once read, Trust is the glue which binds the leader to her/his followers and provides the capacity for organizational and leadership success(Mineo, D. L. (n.d.). The Importance of Trust in Leadership. Research Management Review, 20(1), 2014th ser., 1-6. Retrieved from http://files.eric.ed.gov/fulltext/EJ1038828.pdf). In order for a team to work and be successful you must build a bond. If there is no trust within a team then it causes issues and usually results in double work being done because instead of relying on someone you are having to do the work also to make sure it gets done. This is not successful and causes more headache. In order to be a successful leader you must have a great foundation. The foundation of a great workplace is created by organizational credibility, respect and fairness which form the foundation of trust(Mineo, D. L. (n.d.). The Importance of Trust in Leadership. Research Management Review, 20(1), 2014th ser., 1-6. Retrieved from http://files.eric.ed.gov/fulltext/EJ1038828.pdf). When there is no trust it is merely impossible to lead and develop others. As a leader, how can you have others to rely, believe in you and your leadership if they do not fully trust you? Trust is not developed in a day but over a time frame I believe in order to be successful as a leader you just have a great foundation with
Second, is being supportive. Providing help, advice, and coaching makes leaders approachable which encourages greater trust (Kreitner and Kinicki, 2013). When team members come to seek out help, it is important that leaders are there with answers. When leaders serve in this capacity, it builds trust by giving people the resources and confidence they need to do their job.
In a time of social and economic reform, many different groups of people traveled from their homeland in search for a better life in America. Between 1840’s and 1880’s, began the introduction of now known as today the “old” immigrants, most generally known as the Irish and German. In contrast, later in 1880’s and 1920’s arrived the “new” immigrants, which includes mostly Southern and Eastern Europeans, as well as Asians. The new immigrants differentiated from the old immigrants in many different ways but yet faced similar struggles that impacted American history we know as today. In this paper, I will contrast the different experiences and obstacles both the “new” and “old” immigrants faced as they come to America and how they are both significantly important in the social era.
In this study, there are three hypotheses. The first one asks if a positive change in shared leadership is correlated with positive change in-group trust. The second hypothesis asks if positive change in shared leadership is correlated with positive change in performance. Finally, the third hypothesis asks if group trust can be added to balance out the relationship between shared leadership and performance.
The film is based on the true story of Jordan Belfort. It follows him from his rise to a wealthy stock broker living the high life, to his fall involving addiction, crime, and corruption. Leonardo DiCaprio takes on the lead role in the film as Jordan Belfort, and is joined by Jonah Hill who plays Donnie Azoff (Belfort’s friend). DiCaprio does an excellent job playing a money hungry stock broker who’s first goal in life is to be successful. To the outside world, Belfort is living the American dream; a beautiful spouse, sports cars galore, a palace for a house, and even a luxurious yacht. However, behind the scenes lies a darker side, as he struggles to omit temptations of sex, drugs, tax evasion, fraud, and eventually has to deal with the FBI. DiCaprio is positively mesmerizing in this role, proving that he is even better at playing a rascal who is all about the money and power than a romantic. In addition, there is a very strong support from Jonah Hill throughout the movie. He was also great in his role as Belfort’s best friend. It is not surprising that...
Leadership involves providing direction, gaining alignment, and receiving commitment from followers (Shi & Johnson, 2014). Trust is very important in any relationship, whether it is two people or a group of people, trust is vital. Trust fosters an open relationship and establishes an environment of comfort and support. By building trust, I provide an environment where my staff members are more prone to be more efficient in their work and trusting in my decisions as well as develop their ability to build relationships with
The trust built within relationships is based on ones display of behavior, competency and character. When trust is present between leaders and his or her peers, not only the team, but also the organization benefits tremendously. Leaders who establish trust within their organization reap the benefits from positive attitudes, loyalty to the mission and willingness to carry out their vision. As a leader, establishing trust within your team and organization shows that you not only foster empowerment, but individual growth as well. The team becomes more efficient and effective displaying a high regard of respect for one another, which brings me to my final leadership value,

To build trust and accountability, businesses need consistent leadership. One way is to have effective team meetings on a regular basis for feedback and input on projects. With meetings allow your staff members the opportunity to volunteer for special tasks and projects. Remember, it’s impossible to build trust if one person is favored over others” (Savage). This way everyone feel they are being treated equally and have the same common ground as everyone else. Any team member that feels they are not being treated fairly will grow stern, cold, and distant from the team they are working with. Favoritism is something that should never be displayed in the workplace due to many reasons. People are very quick to pick up on the idea that they are not being treated equally and will let others know quickly. The leader can avoid this by treating everyone the same at all times and avoid making any difference in
