Personal Narrative- Victim of Robbery
My story started about a week ago. I was heading to bed early, because I was tired from a long day with plans to wake up a few hours before class to review for a test. As I closed my books for the evening and headed to bed around midnight, little did I know something was going on outside.
A little later that night someone entered my garage, which was so conveniently unlocked. They first rummaged through my dad’s van outside and I think they stole his coat, a tape and a few rolls of film. They also sifted through my mom’s car looking for something to steal, only to find a few motivational tapes. Surprising enough they passed those including one on "Getting Rid Of Guilt." When they got into my car however, they decided to take most of what I had. They stole my CD player, taking part of my dash with it. They also took most of my CD collection and the liner to my new Columbia coat. They even took my flashlight. They then vanished as quickly as they had come.
My mom woke me the following morning. She had decided to bring me breakfast in bed...
It was around nine o’clock when I pulled into the driveway. It was pitch black outside so I brought a flashlight with me. Now I’m a paranoid person, so I also brought my machete with me. My grandparents lived right in front of a dense forest, so you never know what could come out of there.
Owning a car is usually a significant investment for an individual. Changing the oil on your car plays an important part to help keep it functioning at peak performance and to ensure that your vehicle last for many miles. You might wonder how often does the oil need changing. Well, manufactures advise that the oil is changed every 3,000 miles or every three months, whichever occurs first. Changing the oil is not an extremely difficult task, but it is always good to have someone else there, who has done this before, to help if needed. I would also suggest finding an outfit you wouldn’t mind getting dirty and a pair of rubber gloves to keep your hands clean.
The inferno takes the reader through Dante’s haunting journey in hell. On this journey Dante is guided by Virgil through nine circles that make up hell. Hell is shaped like a tunnel, and the further down it descends the worse the punishment is in each circle. Sinners are placed in the circles according to their sins. The more offensive the nature of the sin, the worse the punishment is, and the further down the tunnel is where the circle is placed. Dante illustrates his concerns and frustrations with the morality of his fellow countrymen and Christians by creating a specific circle and punishment for each type of sinner. He also shows his own personal belief that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. Allusions
The Divine Comedy Volume 1: Inferno written by Dante Alighieri tells the epic poem of Dante as he traveles through the different levels of hell. On his journey Dante is forewarned that he will come upon many different situations “The three C’s: Cruelty, Curiosity and Compassion” (Cranston 27). Dante used infamous historical figures to depict the rational for the different levels of hell. He chose some of the historical characters for their wisdom and knowledge yet he chose others for their cruel and sinful actions in the past. The first person Dante encountered on his journey was his guide, Virgil. His guide accompanied him as he journeyed through the nine circles of hell. Dante proceeded with his journey encountering those infamous figures who lust, Violence, and treachery consumed leaving them to reside in the circles of hell.
...ards monstrous figures and sympathy towards those who seem to be tortured unjustly. In his perverse education, with instruction from Virgil and the shades, Dante learns to replace mercy with brutality, because sympathy in Hell condones sin and denies divine justice. The ancient philosopher Plato, present in the first level of Hell, argues in The Allegory of the Cave that truth is possible via knowledge of the Form of the Good. Similarly, Dante acquires truth through a gradual understanding of contrapasso and the recognition of divine justice in the afterlife. Ultimately, Dante recognizes that the actions of the earthly fresh are important because the soul lives on afterwards to face the ramifications. By expressing his ideas on morality and righteousness, Dante writes a work worth reading, immortalizes his name, and exalts the beliefs of his Christian audience.
One night, probably about 10:00, i was walking down the street at night. I always smoke a swisher when walking to my friends house. I was just about to turn the corner. I was about halfway to my friends house. I had that feeling, i hadn't had that feeling in a long time. I think that I would have been killed if i would have ignored the feeling. When i turned the corner i heard rustling in the leaves behind me, i was still calm debating whether or not i'm just being paranoid. I kept walking, I took my knife out, about 2 min later i heard something running up behind me. I didn't know what it was, i was startled, i turned around and then i saw it, a pit bull. I didn't know what to do, it jumped at me and I did what i was trained to do in my knife lessons. If i didn't already have my blade out, well i didn't have time to get my blade out.
Early in the morning, too early to remember, Mom walked into my tiny bedroom and woke me up. Like every other day, this one was beginning to be a normal one. Cinnamon oatmeal, milk, and iced tea started my day. Of course I was excited to hangout with Mom in Manhattan, trips like these didn't happen every day. I was only ten years old at the time and it was still fun to ride the subway.
After being there a while, I noticed a grey van passing down the street repeatedly. I did not think much about it since it was not my neighborhood, and Sergio's friend did not pay much attention to them either. All of a sudden, one of Sergio's friends jumped off the hood of a parked car and yelled, "Trucha! Trucha!" (Watch Out!) As he shouted that, I looked up and saw the passenger of the gray van pointing and shooting a gun at me. I felt a tremendous cold chill all over my body, and began to run as fast as I could to the back of the house. All I remember is looking for safety.
Society places ideas concerning proper behaviors regarding gender roles. Over the years, I noticed that society's rules and expectations for men and women are very different. Men have standards and specific career goals that we must live up to according to how others judge.
My journey with Rapé, pronounced ‘ha-peh’, in English, has been an interesting one. It is one heavily connected with ayahuasca. I remember being in Peru at an ayahuasca ceremony and was asked if I would like to try Rapé. I was told it is normally done at Ayahuasca ceremonies to prepare you for the work and open up the third eye chakra. Being that I am a daredevil and adventurous I will certainly try anything once. So I said yes. The Shaman blew the Rapé in one nostril without any explanation, of what to expect, to me. Let me remind you that I was in Peru where they only spoke Spanish in this ceremony. Immediately I stopped breathing. Fear entered, I began to panic. Thoughts of death aroused. The Shaman began to say breathe in Spanish, but I couldn’t. He said breathe again. I was just filled with fear and could not hear anything he was saying. Breathe, what is breathing anyway. Breath is life. Breath is the thing that helps us relax, think clearly and bring us back to a healthy state, which is why breath work is fundamental in yoga, meditation, pilates, dance and singing. Breathe. He touched me and said breathe. I was able to take a deep
First of all, the car should be clean and dry before there’s any sort detailing going on. The car should be washed in a clean environment to avoid any dirt particles getting it on it after its wet. Soap and water will do just fine, no need to get fancy unless otherwise preferred. Immediately after the car is done washing, a microfiber towel or any sort of drying towel is recommended to dry off the vehicle as soon as it’s done washing. If left on too long, the water will begin to dry in small bubbles and leave behind oxidation due to the dirt stuck in them. Another wash would most likely be needed if that’s the case. The wash will get all the unnecessary dirt off making it a lot easier to detail it later.
The study of criminal justices has a wide range of explanations and forms of investigation. Upon receiving this assignment I immediately took an interest in the investigation and process of home invasion robbery. When individuals are un ware of the law they group burglary and robbery as the same thing, when in fact burglary involves going to a place or having the intent to commit a crime and not actually taking something, while a robbery is defined as having the intent to commit a crime and actually following through with stealing or taking someone else’s property. Though it might be complicated to understand it is actually quite simple when you begin to see it in action. For the purpose of this assignment we were asked to interview someone in the field of criminal
It was dark that night, I was nervous that this dreadful day was going to get worse. Sunday, October 23, 1998 I wanted to start writing this to tell about the weird things i’m starting to see in this new neighborhood. Gradually I keep seeing pots and pans on the sink suddenly move to the floor. I would ask my sister but she is out with my mom and dad getting the Halloween costumes. When they got home I didn’t tell them what I saw because i've seen Halloween movies and I have to have dissimulation otherwise the ghost will come out and get me first. October 24, 1998 I think I got a little nervous yesterday with the whole ghost thing. 12:32pm, Went to eat lunch with the family today and I go to get my coat. I heard the words furious and madness,
A wallet, or purse for some, is a precious item in which most people carry things more essential than money towards everyday life. If some people were to lose
A few minutes later, my mom woke me up and we went into a room. There
