Stop Logging Before it Destroys the World
The sound of trees falling in the distance, national forests being cut down by humans; these are things that animals living in the forest have to deal with every day in the forest. Logging takes away animals homes and turns beautiful land into torn up trashy land. Logging is bad for the environment and should be banned from national forest. The logging companies claim they care about our forest but all they really care about is the money. The national forest should not be a source of income for our nation.
Logging the National Forest is very unhealthy for our environment; it pollutes the air, water, and tears up the land. The chain-saws, skidders, logging trucks, burning slash, and all the other logging tools put millions of pollutants into the clean crisp air. The skidders and logging trucks tear up the land making ruts and eroding the land causing water pollution and killing fish.
Discharges of sediments and other pollutants from operations throughout the North Coast region into the region’s rivers and streams have adversely affected the health of fish species endangered or threatened with extinction. Future pollution discharges pursuant to the waiver for logging will adversely affect Coho Salmon and other endangered or threatened species in the future.

Cutting the trees also reduces our oxygen supply. The beauty of the land is defaced with logging and should be stopped for environmental concerns.
Now let’s look at the wildlife effects from logging. Endangered species such as the Mexican Spotted Owls need a dense forest for its natural habitat. Logging will de...

...t the large diameter trees called old growth trees. The reason they only want these is because they get more money from the lumber industry than the pulp wood industry. Pulp wood is the small
diameter trees used to make paper. If all the old growth trees are cut down there will only be small tress which is bad for the environment. Making a profit off of public land is just like stealing money from the public and should be punished by law.
Logging is useless these days for any aspect in which we use tree properties for. In construction we now have steel beams, aluminum siding, and other types of materials which are not wood based. We can now recycle all the paper or make it out of some other type of plant such as corn stocks. With all the damage that is done to the environment from logging there is no reason better to stop logging before it destroys our world.
Logging is a huge industry in the Pacific Northwest for obvious reasons. The abundant, lush, forests are an ideal location for major logging companies to stake their claim. For many Pacific North westerners, and Americans in general, the logging industry is a major part of the economy. Many loggers have been raised and trained for their entire life to become loggers. Many loggers know no other skills to support themselves other than logging and the logging industry. There are many communities located in the Pacific Northwest that are supported fully by the logging industry. Without the logging of the old growth forests, their families and their livelihoods would be ruined.
When westward expansion brought settlers to the Northwest in the 1800s, they discovered that coniferous trees “forty feet in circumference [that] shot two-hundred feet straight up” flourished in the forests of the Pacific coast (Ervin 55). These early pioneers found the opportunity for economic growth in logging these vast forests of towering trees unlike any they had seen before. Today, the timber industry still remains the backbone of economic support for Washington, Oregon, and northwestern California, but an inevitable conflict has arisen between humans and our environment. A struggle over the control of the use of the old-growth forests threatens the balance of the ecosystem and the stability of the economy in the Pacific Northwest.

John Muir once said, “Where one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.” His understanding of the connection of nature to the world would be helpful regarding today’s ethical issue of clearcutting happening in Tongass National Forest. Firstly, this practice involves completely clearing an area of trees, regardless of the shape and usability. Then, the remaining scrub and brush are just burned off which leaves smoky haze for several days. Tongues Nation Forest is considered the “crown jewel” of America’s forest because it is the home to 800 years old trees, black and brown bears, wolves, bald eagles, Sitka black-tailed deer, moose, humpback, whales, orcas, sea otters, Steller sea lions. However, Sealaska, the largest private land owner in the Southeast Alaska wants to invade the forest through clear cut logging.Clearcutting or clearfelling can have serious environmental impacts. Abrupt removal of shady shield trees will
Headaches happen when there is a continuous pain in the cranial area (Huether, 2004). Moreover, headaches happen when the nerve endings in the brain detect pain. Usually the pain can originate from the nerves and muscles of the head and neck and also from the meninges or the covering of the brain. Frequent bouts of headaches can lead to lack of concentration due to the pain which can impede in productivity in the work place and also academically.
Who are the loggers? The loggers are people that are cutting down the rainforest for materials to use for almost anything you want.loggers want all types of wood. Loggers use the trees for many different reasons and purposes.Like paper to write on and, houses to live in,tables, tools, building, doors and so many more different reasons that i can't even name.Loggers don't just cut trees down for any purpose they do it for you.If you don't know trees are more important to you than you think.they put a roof over our head and make paper to write on.Most of this happen because the loggers cut them down so dont think of this as a bad thing all of the time.
Headaches are a neurologic disorder that causes pain to any region of the head, scalp, face and neck area. Determination of the type of headache primary or secondary is necessary for proper treatment. A complete history to include age needs to be obtained to include family history, furthermore information on frequency, location, duration, time of day, precipitating factors, related factors, and types of medications used, a must be took in account to identify the specific headache.
There are many species of trees that get turned into lumber and then manufactured. By harvesting lumber, we are cutting down many trees which are very important to many cycle in the environment. Fortunately we are able to grow back. Forests are burned or clear-cut to facilitate access to, and use of, the land. This practice often occurs when the perceived need for long term sustainability is overwhelmed by short-term sustenance goals. Not only are the depletion of species-rich forests a problem, affecting the local and regional hydrological regime, the smoke caused by the burning trees pollutes the atmosphere, adding more CO2, and furthering the greenhouse effect. For thousands of years, wood has been used as a building material and the fact is wood has huge environmental benefits over other building products. It is completely biodegradable, works as an effective insulator, and is 100 percent
Defining nursing as a profession is an area that has been debated for years. What makes nursing a profession rather than simply an occupation? Understanding the differences between a profession verses an occupation is a vital concept for nurses to apprehend. Areas that establish this differentiation are that: nursing is constructed on
Professional nursing practice has been developing for several centuries. Nursing as a profession can be traced back to the early Christian era. Since then the perception of nursing practice has changed significantly. “Nursing is caring, commitment, and dedication to meeting the functional health needs of all people” (Craven & Hirnle, 2009, p. 32). First of all I want to find out if the nursing is actually a profession. So let’s explore the definition of the profession and if nursing has got all the components to it. Dr John Southwick in 1997 defined the profession as
“The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) estimates that fully 90% of adults will experience one or more headaches during their life… About two-thirds of children have had a headache of one type or another by the time they reach the age of 15 years” (Pray, 2014). Making headaches one of the top complaints patients have when visiting the doctor's office. Due to the wide spectrum of headaches it is important for a patient to know when the option of self treatment with over the counter drugs is relevant, and when it is time to seek further medical care by a physician. The patient can make this decision by first knowing what kind of headache they are having, which will allow them to make the call of what to do next in terms of treatment. These are the topics that will be discussed in the following.
Environmental issues affect every life on this planet from the smallest parasite to the human race. There are many resources that humans and animal needs to survive; some of the most obvious resources come from the forests. Forests make up a large percentage of the globe. The forests have global implications not just on life but on the quality of it. Trees improve the quality of the air that species breath, determine rainfall and replenish the atmosphere. The wood from the forests are used everyday form many useful resources. Moreover, thinning the forests increases the amount of available light, nutrients and water for the remaining trees. Deforestation (forest thinning) is one of the most critical issues of environmental problems that are occurring today.
Before talking about the effects of destroying our forests, it is important to know the benefits that around 1.6 billion people receive from forests. Aside from the oxygen trees in forests produce which keeps us as people alive, these 1.6 billion people rely on the forests for “food, fresh water, clothing, traditional medicine and shelter” (Deforestation: Causes, Effects and Solutions). There are
Nursing is a profession that blends the rich traditions of the past with the ever changing realities of today's health care industry. Nursing is not simply an assortment of special skills and the nurse is not simply a person proficient in performing these specific tasks. Nursing is a profession. I believe this statement to be true because of several factors. The Title 19 Code for Nurses is titled "Standards for Professional Nursing Practice". The status of nursing as a profession reflects the values that society places on the work of nurses and how central nursing is to the good of society. "By being a professional we imply that the person is conscientious in actions, knowledgeable in the subject and responsible to self and others." (Potter & Perry, 1993, p. 27)
One reason that the Rainforest is being cut down is for logging, according to Source 3 logging accounts for 10% of rainforest deforestation. The timber from logging is often used for paper, tables and and sometimes fuel. The rainforest has remained untouched for many years before companies came for wood, because of this there are large amounts of unspoilt plants and
