Biology, Pragmatism and the Question of Contradiction
ABSTRACT: In this article I present H. R. Maturana's work as an alternative that reinforces pragmatism in the task of thinking philosophy through the evolution of biological species. I try to demonstrate how Maturana's biology dilutes the principal argument against American Neo-pragmatism. This criticism uses the argument of performative contradiction as it has developed in the European Neo-Kantian philosophy. Thus, I begin by presenting Apel. s arguments which are contrary the perspective of the detranscendentalization of the Post-Nietzschenian philosophy. I conclude that analytical philosophy is a fecund point of contact between Maturana's biology and American Pragmatism, and that analytic arguments help convince others of our own theoretical preferences.
In his papers, books and conferences, Maturana frequently begins proposing that: Everything is said by an observer to another observer that could be him or herself.
In this paper I intend to analyze logically this proposition, trying to focus the question of contradiction.
In Maturana's work, we do not find more than traces or clues that could help us in this kind of philosophical investigation. However, if we take logic as the main philosophical method these clues would be sufficient.
According to Maturana, logical contradictions are not serious mistakes because they are supposed to be prompt and plentifully solved. In contrast, emotional contradictions would be really dangerous, because they occur as an opposition between our doing and our desire, generating suffering and immobility. Nevertheless, it seems that he accepts the logical method as a philosophical and argumentative method because he uses logic...

In order to understand the concept of Moore’s Paradox, we must first assess and understand the behavior of logical and performative contradictions. Credited for devising and examining this paradox, George Edward Moore, a British philosopher who taught at the University of Cambridge and studied ethics, epistemology, and metaphysics describes the paradox in its omissive and commissive forms in which we will discuss thoroughly. I will then express my standpoint on which solution is the most optimal choice for Moore’s Paradox in order to analyze and explain why I believe my solution is superior to other solutions. I will also discuss any issues that arise

Since nuclear waste is more dense than the rock it'd be injected into, the radioactive slurry would never rise back to the Earth's surface and thus—in theory—would never contaminate the water table. "It's basic physics here—if it's heavier than rock, the fracture will propagate down," Germanovich explained at the conference. Instead, he hypothesizes, it would continue to traverse further into the crust, providing a means of energy production and nuclear waste management in one. In his eyes, it's a win-win. It is for this reason that I shall turn from the content of the dialogues to the method or methods exhibited there. In those, I will argue, we have a better model for the contemporary conduct of philosophy than is usually suspected.
...beliefs in Big Brother, who controls them, and who is the highest power in Oceania. The Inner Party is Big Brother while the Proles really do not have to care much for Big Brother but just need to show minor Patriotism. The Outer Party must love, follow, and do everything Big Brother tells them to do. Big Brother is not a real person like Winston, Julia or O’Brien but this idea of Big Brother or government based off this idea of a Big Brother works for the government. Obviously this government is wrong and not right but it does work and allows the party to keep control for a long time.
It is thought that Meno's paradox is of critical importance both within Plato's thought and within the whole history of ideas. It's major importance is that for the first time on record, the possibility of achieving knowledge from the mind's own resources rather than from experience is articulated, demonstrated and seen as raising important philosophical questions.
One of the biggest natural resources used in fracking is water. On average, around one to eight million gallons of water are used on a fracture job. There are also around 500,000 active fracture sites around the world and each site can be fractured around 18 times. This means that roughly 72 trill...

In conclusion, its recommended that patients brush two-three times a day two minutes long to insure that most of the bacteria is removed from the teeth, gums, and tongue also. Flossing after every meal should also be done regularly because of left foods that get stuck between the teeth. There are many kinds of toothpaste, but not all contain fluorine. Its important that you chose on that does have fluorine because it rebuild tooth enamel and strengthen the tooth too.
Getting a good oral health can show the condition of body and reduce the getting other diseases in our body. Some reports have shown that periodontal disease has a relationship with a stroke, heart disease. Pregnant with periodontal disease also get a higher chance having low birth weight babies. Oral infections are the symptoms of some of the diseases. (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2000)Furthermore, a survey found that the dental decay and poor oral hygiene are the potential risk factors of having pneumonia. Also, a better oral health can reduce the occurrence of pneumonia. (Azarpazhooh & Leake, 2006) Maintaining oral health not only a matter of oral, but also related to our health of whole body. In addition, people with loss of tooth may not chew food enough, which may cause the digestive problems of digestive system. People may not underestimated the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene.
In Chapter 28 of DeWitt’s book, Worldviews: An Introduction to the History and Philosophy of Science, DeWitt builds on his previous discussion of what the theory of evolution is and the historical developments that were discovered during that time, by introducing the implications that arise with the theory. The two main implications that are discussed in this chapter are implications due to religious beliefs and morality and ethics. However, these two particular implications are not the only ones that arise with the theory of evolution, in fact there are a lot of implications involved with this theory.
There are basic procedures to follow in order to uphold proper oral hygiene including brushing and flossing. The first step in maintaining a healthy mouth is performing proper brushing every day. Brushing properly helps lower the risk of tooth decay and gum disease, which are the major causes of tooth loss (Oral-B). It is recommended by the American Dental Association to brush teeth after every meal or at least twice a day (Edwards). It is important to choose the right toothbrush and toothpaste in order to get the best cleaning. A toothpaste containing fluoride will strengthen teeth and prevent cavities...
