Benefits of Recreation in Society and on the Body
Recreation
==========
We've all heard it before, "Personal recreational activities involves
those actions that relax, refresh, and rejuvenate us" - yet how much
do we truly gain from these activities? Recreation is a healthy part
of each individual's own life and can be enjoyed by everyone. The
benefits of recreation are not only positive to the community of
today, but to the society of tomorrow.
The positive outlook on recreation is unlimited and endless in our
world. There are great things that not only improve health and
wellness, but the building of self-esteem and stress reduction (NRPA).
Recreation is a healthy alternative for positive behavior, which leads
to opportunities for learning and living a balanced, productive life.
According to NRPA recreation evolves physical, mental, and social
health related benefits that result from participating in recreational
activities. Although many other important benefits are documented,
(increased environmental stewardship, job opportunities, and a variety
of economic benefits) there are many current research documentations
on the physical aspects of recreation along with recent trends in
recreational interests. According to the Surgeon General's Report,
over 60 million people are considered overweight.
Overweight and obesity are associated with heart disease, types of
cancer, type II diabetes, respiratory problems, and psychological
problems such as depression and fatigue. Participating in meaningful
recreational activity aides in the prevention of diseases and improves
the mental health of participants.

Engaging in sports plays a significant role in promoting health and wellness among children and adolescents. Although sports participation provides numerous physical and social benefits, it also has a downside: the risk of sports-related injuries. Many children and adolescents are treated in the emergency department each year for sports and recreation-related injuries. However, by playing competitive sports, you can keep obesity rates down, you can have a very strong mental health, and lastly, you can insure a healthy lifestyle for your future self.
Richard Attias once said, “Sports is one of the few spaces where people can learn about different cultures in a spirit of trust and friendship.” In other words, he described how sports can bring people together in a meaningful way. Some may argue that sports have a negative effect on individuals because of the injuries you sustain while playing: However, they miss the psychological and physical benefits that you earn from engaging in sports. Sports are efficacious to individuals, regardless of their age, because they have the facility to ameliorate physical skills; while providing delectation to participants. Partaking in sports, give teens the desire to do better in school and gets rid of the obesity epidemic that’s been spreading throughout the country.
“Bowling has one of the longest and richest histories of all sports, dating back approximately 4,000 years ago to Greece and Rome.” (Blau, What Types of Physical Benefits Can Be Obtained From Bowling?) For as long as bowling has been around and as many people a year play it, there are still some things that are hidden. The sport of bowling provides a wide variety of benefits. These benefits including social, physical, and financial positives.
In the year 1996, through a report by the Surgeon General, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) created a report called At-A-Glance, that contains information regarding the benefits that physical activity has when regarding health issues that face people as well as how said physical activity impacts their life in a positive way. The report combines different information gathered over the years that includes information regarding demographics as well as information regarding how frequency and intensity affect the impact that physical activity has. The Center or Disease Control states that “This report brings together, for the first time, what has been learned about physical activity and health from decades of research.”
Whilst not a widely known concept, the role that the environment and the natural world play in all of our lives is a vastly underestimated one. Not only can outdoor trekking and bush walking offer such health benefits that come from moderate continual exercise, but participation in the other outdoor activities and the natural world as a whole, can indeed have health benefits that extend far beyond the benefits of mere fitness and motor functioning in instead include physiological, social, mental biological and economic benefits (Pryor, Carpenter, & Townsend, 2005). Some of these including positive mental manipulation (Sugerman, 2007), increased imagination and creativity (Dowdell, Gray, & Malone, 2011), whilst other studies and research have

When you feel confined, your life revolves around finding a pathway to freedom, but feeling this way about a sport leads to the very epitome of dread. I never have considered myself a quitter and would rather endure two more years of despising football than to leave it all behind. Ironically, it was my coaches’ daily harangue of “If you’re not 100% invested in this team, you are more destructive than not being here at all,” that even implemented the possibility of forgoing football. Before the next season began I was determined to find my drive for football again or give it up forever and focus on my true passion: wrestling. Despite my best intentions I could not introduce the drive back into my soul and ultimately realized, for the benefit
According to studies by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, creating, improving and promoting places to be physically active can improve individual and community health and result in a 25 percent increase of residents who exercise at least three times per week. A study by Penn State University showed significant correlations to reductions in stress, lowered blood pressure, and perceived physical health to the length of stay in visits to
The most important reason sports are positive is children are healthy when participating in them. In “Sports Promote Heathy Weight in Teenagers” “They calculated that if all adolescents played on at least two sports teams per year — in
“If you have time to watch the television and surf the net, then you definitely have time to do physical activities. There is no excuse.” Do physical activities help the people feel comfortable in their life? Yes, because the exercises help the people to reduce the fat in their body, remain their healthy lives, and it also helps them to get in a good mood. There are many types of physical activities; each of them has different benefits for the people. This essay describes the benefits of physical activities and gives the tips to live a better life. Physical activities are good for the health because they make a person feel happy, improves the memory, and protects from the dangerous diseases.
“4 out of 5 households contain at least one device used to play video games.” This was said by Colin Campbell, a journalist and writer that published a novel about the gaming industry. We always hear from parents and others that video games are a waste of time, or they kill brain cells, but what about the benefits of playing video games? Why aren’t people talking about the benefits of playing video games? Video games have benefits in multiple areas. A couple areas for example would be education or work related benefits. With the amount of people that play video games whether it’s for a living or if it is just once in a while that you play there’s benefits to playing. I personally see benefits from playing and I’m going to use a little personal experience into this paper as a first hand account.
For park and recreation agencies, the challenges associated with health, economic and social change present opportunities to reexamine the importance of the neighborhood park and place attachment. Physical inactivity is a strain on the health, economy and security of communities (Wang, Macera, Scudder-Soucie, Pratt, & Buchner, 2005). In 1995, 2.4%, or 24.3 billion dollars, of all health care costs were spent on direct health care delivery associated with sedentary behavior (Colditz, 1999). Sedentary behavior also affects national security. Excessive weight and body fat accounts for the rejection of 23.3% of all military applicants at a time when the military finds itself challenged to attract suitable candidates (Sackett & Mavor, 2006). Research
The FIFA World Cup is a global spectacle that captures the attention of millions of people every four years. More than 200 nations are members of FIFA and they compete for the honor of being worthy to play for the Cup. There is no second place, and there are no consolation prizes. It is the ultimate dream of all football players to hold the golden cup as a champion of the world. As the largest sporting event in the world, the World Cup embodies the best attributes that lead people to love the sports they watch and play. Sports stimulate national economies, lead people to experience other cultures through international competitions, and promote world peace by bringing nations together in friendly competition. Even though some people disagree with these points by assuming sports are a waste of money, put athletes at risk due to injuries and while playing in other nations, and causing disagreement between countries. Evidence will be provided to show that sports have a positive impact on society.
Exercising does have health benefits and provides opportunity for character and community development, especially in young children. Even though sport is generally considered good for both mental and physical health,
Some of my best childhood memories involve playing in a basketball game as a kid with my parents watching. The lessons and experiences I gained from playing sports are invaluable. I think it should be required to play a team sport while you are child in elementary school. The skills you will receive from playing a sport is unparalleled at that age. Team sports teaches kids people skills, and how to make friends. It also provides exercise that the kids need at a young age. Finally it shows that hard work will get rewarded.
