Stakeholders of the Offshore Wind Company A business's stakeholders are the people who are affected by the actions of the business. In this case, the Offshore Wind Company (ltd). In this piece, I am looking to investigate the importance of shareholders, their interests, environmental thoughts, and their adverse to success. Stakeholders are very important in today's modern society, as they can hold the key to the company's success. They take care of the financial issues, and decisions made by and for the company. The six main stakeholders are Financiers, Pressure groups, Suppliers, Employees, Owners, and, of course, the Local Community. Stakeholders can range from central government at Westminster to a local resident. Each stakeholder has an interesting whether the development should be built. There are many reasons why a stakeholder might be interested in a project like the Offshore Wind Farm. There are many examples of controversial issues that involve stakeholders for and against developments and initiatives. * There is a great deal of money to be made. * The development might affect the way that people vote locally or nationally. * A wind farm might be very noisy to live near. * Property prices might fall in the immediate location. * Wildlife in the area is rare and precious. * More work will be available for local people. * The alternative is a coal-fired station. * It will affect the view across very special countryside. All of these are very important factors that a company has to take into account before making any drastic changes, and if certain stakeholders don't agree with ... ... middle of paper ... ...against what ever the company decides just to be difficult, but really, they may turn out to be the most important yet. The aim of the company is to provide electricity to the public when needed, and if there were no public, then there would be no company, therefore no income. The public have opinions and thoughts about the company, and who knows, they may even have some ideas that will take the Offshore wind company in a whole new direction, i.e. forward. So, I close with one last point. Stakeholders keep the company afloat, and without them, there would be no company. I can't emphasise enough how important stakeholders are to the successful running of the Offshore wind company, in fact any company at that. Stakeholders are the Offshore Wind Company, and if any one of them didn't exist, neither would the business.
Royal Dutch Shell also known as Shell, completed its acquisition of BG Group on 15 Feb 2016 with end up negotiation with $70 billion to take over BG Group. The defenses raid start since year 2015. Many people think that Shell act to take over BG is not a good trend because the BG is getting bigger and bigger, many others oil company like Chevron Corporation, ExxonMobil Corporation which is one of the biggest and famous oil company are give up to take over BG, because BG is very expensive, even BG got great resource and nice potential to make their company roses. In long term investing, Merger arbitrage and trading isn’t usually the bad way but by buying into the BG-Shell deal, not only do investors stand to profit from the merger, they’ll
Ed Miliband if elected in 2015, proposes that he will introduce a 20 month price freeze on all the energy companies. Performing that, will result to the break up of the big six suppliers so that their wholesale power producing activities could be separated from their retail supply business.
important then their own more private issues. They were going to participate and do their best
can still see the importance that could potentially have a dramatic affect on the way we
The Job-Creating Potential of Wind Energy and How Global Warming Effects Our Society Today Global warming is a big factor in today’s society. It is an impressive example of energy innovation, and yet one of these mammoth wind towers provides clean, renewable energy by a simple mechanical feat -- the spinning turbines turn into a generator that provides power for hundreds of homes. Michael Kenny, 2009 Wind works. Over the past four decades, wind has provided an increasing amount of the energy we use.
This is because there’s a need for significant paradigm shift in the understanding and approach of these?
The observation of nature and the formulation of a hypothesis is the back bone of many scientific experiments today. This allows for many observers or scientists to product a conclusion based on statistical results of the phenomenal (SOURCE). The result of the scientific method has produced much technological advancement and has solved many practical problems (Bocking, 2006). Many inventions by science has given power to scientist and their work, this “authority of science” as Bocking (2006) describes it, allows power to reside in science and allows for it to be trustworthy enough to be part of many political decisions. This authority has placed a status on science as a provider of reliable knowledge (Bocking, 2006). In many environmental issues, this power of science has been readily used to reinforce environmental regulations and policy that protects both the human and environmental health. However, it can also enhance controversy by having supporting scientific data that contradict one another (Bocking, 2006). Controversy such as the impacts of wind turbines are the highlights of arguments, as counties such as Canada, move toward a sustainable society by using renewable resources.
Wind energy can play a critical role in saving our planet from the negative effects of energy powered by fossil fuels. Wind turbines work effectively at reducing carbon dioxide emissions. For instance, a single utility scale wind turbine can prevent the emission of 5,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere a year by displacing the power generated by fossil fuels. Also, a single 750-kilowatt turbine can produce roughly 2 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually. Turbines of this nature are the ones now being used in power plants around the world (Wind Energy Weekly). One good example is California. Their wind power plants displace 4.5 billion pounds of CO2 each year with the 3 billion kilowatt hours of energy they produce. To put it into an environmental perspective, that is as much CO2 as could be absorbed by a forest covering 1100 square miles (Wind Energy Weekly). Although wind energy has little to no impact on the environment when it comes to air pollution or greenhouse gases, there are other environmental concerns surrounding this form of energy production. Some of the concerns about wind energy include visual impacts, birds and other living resources, lightning and noise (Wind Energy Development).
When two people cannot come to an agreement on what to eat for dinner, expecting multiple stakeholders to agree on a national healthcare system is asking the impossible. Although the subject of healthcare reform is not new, it has proven irrefutably true the adage about never pleasing all of the people all of the time. The stakeholder’s agendas vary and overlap from financial, political, personal, national, and global viewpoints, with both major and minor players clamoring for a voice. For the sake of brevity, this paper covers the major stakeholders—the three branches of the federal government, employers, employees, and private insurers. Although the turmoil surrounding healthcare reform appears intractable and differing
The many stakeholders in this case include George, the city of Hondo, current employees, environment and the company. George relocated his family and stands to lose his position if the company is moved to another location. He is faced with the decision of continuing to allow the emissions to soar above the EPA guidelines, at the current location by scheduling the heavy emissions work at night, therefore causing more damage to the environment. Furthermore, should he instruct the company to relocate to the new location the environment would still be affected on the U.S. side. By continuing to be above the benchmark of emissions the environment, employees and citizens are affected. “The environmental issues managers face are not simply about trees and water and birds. These issues affect all people, including the managers themselves.” (eGuide, p.2) In addition, the employees are stakeholders because they face losing their source of income. Lastly, the company is a stakeholder because they stand to face the cost of relocating or continuing to suffer from fines. The interest for each stakeholder is a loss of monies and the environment continues to be affected.
Shiller (2003) believes that stakeholder theory suggests that corporate stakeholders are divided into external stakeholders and internal stakeholders. External stakeholders include investors, creditors, customers and the government. Internal stakeholders include managers and employees and so on. Woolworths Company's stakeholders in the process of canned processed foods are as followed:
Offshore wind power has become a need of the hour in renewable energy production due to the rising prices of oil and continually increasing demand for a separate energy sector. Offshore wind has the prospective to deliver at least four times the current U.S. demand of energy, as per mentioned by the Global Wind Energy Council. However, there are many challenges and advantages that are significant for us to comprehend.
Wind turbines are a great source of energy all around the world. Wind Turbines produce wind energy that can be used to power our homes. Wind turbines convert Kinetic energy into mechanical power. Then this mechanical power gets generated into electricity. Wind turbines make energy by the wind turning the large blades, which spin a shaft that is connected to the large blades, which then operates the generator making electricity. One new idea is building wind turbines offshore in the mid-Atlantic. Offshore building of wind turbines means that these large turbines will be placed in the Atlantic Ocean. The building of these wind turbines will provide energy to states like Maryland, Delaware, New York, Virginia, and New Jersey. These states want to start this project as soon as possible so that the states can start saving money. Since these regions right now are burning fossil fuels uncontrollably with incredible impacts (not only to our air, but to our health) it is crucial to start right away. Offshore wind turbines will provide more jobs, cut pollution, stop warming of our planet, and save us energy costs. These wind turbines can make enough energy offshore to power about 500,000 thousand homes. However, many people disagree with this idea because they believe it is too expensive.
Several times in my life I have heard commentaries about the lack of importance of
