What Christians Mean When They Refer to Jesus as Lord
When we think of the name Lord as Christians we think of God, as he is
powerful, almighty and great. Jesus however was a human and to be
called "Lord" is very special because no one in history has been
called that before. As Christians we would say the name Lord means
miracle worker, ruler and faithful. Jesus was mainly all these things
as he performed many miracles in his life which many different types
of people benefited from which are recorded in the Gospels. Many Jews
thought of Jesus as a lord because he helped many of them; outcasts,
Romans, women and the rich ands poor and many others he helped in his
life on Earth. Jesus truly was a leader of the human race.

God is someone we think of as having magnificent powers as many
Christians today still think that God created the Universe and
ourselves as humans. Jesus also had many fantastic powers in his life
on earth with us and was able to show them to his followers and all
the disciples. Some Christians think that Jesus was empowered by God
and God's powers were given to Jesus through their love for one
another. Jesus' powers were very special as he had power over evil,
over nature, over death and he also had a remarkable healing power.
Jesus has been referred to in the Gospels as a man who had power over
nature, which is told to us in "The Calming of the Storm". When Jesus
and his disciples went fishing together Jesus fell asleep when a
terrible storm broke out, the disciples were very frightened and ran
to wake Jesus. He got up and told the wind and se...

my servant will be well. I am also a man of great authority and I am
placed above soldiers in my command, I tell my slaves to do this and
they do it, I tell one soldier to go their and he does it." Jesus then
replied,
"I tell you, I have never found faith like this, not even in Israel."
Jesus proves to us in this gospel that he does not believe in any form
of discrimination and he is a true teacher of the people.
When Jews refer to Jesus as Lord I think they are expressing all their
ides of him into one important and powerful name. Jesus has proven to
be a teacher, a leader, powerful, almighty, a ruler, faithful and a
miracle worker. He is truly a man of the people and I think this is
the meaning of the name 'Lord'.
This is unmistakably a description of the dominance enveloped in his character. The chief priests of the Jews did not want it written out for all to see that Jesus was considered a king, but Pila...

Jesus is an appointed leader now. Peter revealed this to Jesus after talking to God, so Jesus blessed him (Nelson, 2013) Isaiah 53: 4-5 (New American Standard Bible) explains perfectly what Jesus did, “surely our grief’s he himself bore and our sorrow’s he carried; yet we ourselves esteemed him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted. But he was pierced through our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our well being fell upon him, and by scourging we are healed.” He was pierced for all of our sins and carried our sorrows. Humans deserved to be punished instead, but Jesus took the punishment for us. Jesus died to heal humanity. Based on the reading, the Christian Worldview is based around Jesus. If he did not die on the cross and rise from the grave, Christianity would not be a worldview like we have today. When we know Jesus’s identity and what he did, we are able to believe in him and put our faith in him (DiVincenzo,

The distinguishing factor of a person who has power contrary to an individual, who has a purpose to lead, is the intent for their position as a leader. God knew that He would have to send Jesus to save mankind from sin. God reveals to Isaiah that he will send a Savior (Jesus Christ); When the people cry to the Lord for help against those who oppress them, he will send them a savior who will rescue them (Isaiah 19:20). Christianity is one of the world’s major religions. It’s built on the idea that Jesus Christ is the Son of God whom God sent to save mankind. Christians believe in Jesus as a leader and savior, and follow his teachings. According to Christianity, Jesus is a divine being whom a virgin mother conceived of. God made this occurrence possible. Jesus however grew and lived among humans on earth over 2000 years ago. Jesus was a Jew, he lived and died in Israel and spent his life in ministry with his disciples, teaching and spreading the word of God and the message of God’s love. Jesus is the central figure of Christianity. His contemporaries recognized the fact that he was leader. Jesus as a Christian leader had 5 basic roles: he was regarded as the messenger of God, he was to serve as a mouthpiece of God, he was to pass his message to the people whom he was sent to, he was to prepare the people on earth for the coming of the kingdom of God, and lastly to proclaim the kingdom of God and the consequences for not preparing for it.
...rthermore, to fight in a way is fundamentally inhuman. As humans, we are thinking animals and we should be able to tell from right and wrong. Since these soldiers have decided to join the war, they are not human at all.
In Acts 2:36, Peter preached that “Let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” He also declared that “Jesus is Lord of all” (10:36). I understand that ‘Jesus is Lord of all’ means that everything is under his authority. In general, authority is not given to anybody but a person who is in the highest position.
