Taxonomy is the study of the classification of organisms, it is the
organization (separation) of all the known organisms into groups based
on their shared features, these groups are then organized into
further, larger groups. These groups are all referred to as Taxa
(Taxon - singular). The taxa used in taxonomy are: Species, Genus,
Family, Order, Class, Phylum and kingdom, each group getting larger
going form species to kingdom.
Taxa Used in Taxonomy
=====================
Species
-------
Organisms That are able to interbreed, producing fertile offspring are
considered to be of the same species, this taxon can also be divided
into subspecies and then strains (to give more finite classification).
Genus
A groups of organisms that are similar and fairly closely related.
Family
A group of organisms, which are of apparently, related Genera.
Order
A group of similar, or apparently related families.
Class
A grouping of related orders within a phylum.
Phylum
Organisms with very basic similarities, which subtle similarities,
that appears to have been constructed on the same 'plan'.
Kingdom
The largest group, which includes animals, plants, fungi…Subdivided
into Prokaryota (single celled organisms) and Eukaryota (multicellular
organisms).
Some groups are so large that they become apparently meaningless, when
this happens they can be divided into more specific subdivisions.
For individual species the Binomial system is used to name organisms.
This system makes use of the Species and Genus taxa, by giving every
species 2 names, the first identifying it's genus, the seco...

...ful, so their population exploded.
They were rounded up and shot in masses, but this had very little
effect on their population, eventually the viral disease myxomatosis
was introduced into the rabbit population, by man, through infected
fleas (the carriers of the disease), since the rabbit population was
so dense the disease spread quickly and massive numbers of rabbits
were killed, the disease became the only biotic environmental factor
affecting their population, but it still greatly decreased their
population size.
This case gives a clear example of how environmental factors limit
population sizes, if humans were not affected by famine, drought and
disease our population would balloon out of control and measures would
have to be taken (like those in place in china) to limit the growth of
our population.
One of the top contributing factors is China’s constant population growth. People have tried to speak up about this issue, as stated
He believed that population growth would quickly far outstrip the food supply causing famine and depletion of natural resources unless countries applied “moral constraint”. Neo-Malthusianism is the view that the rate of population should be controlled to prevent overpopulation and famine, such as policies enforced by the Chinese government. They also believe that Malthus’s is much more frightening than ever before due to the large growth in population. They argue that world population is also destroying the world’s natural resources, using at a highly unsustainable level, which will have many future implications if they run
After the People’s Republic of China was established several factors such as improved sanitation and medicine led to a rapid population increase. Initially, the population growth was considered to be an economic boom [2] because before it occurred the county had faced a century of wars and epidemics. However, by 1962, China started to promote the use of birth control. Later, in 1979 China was faced with a population that was growing out of control[3], and the government decided that in order to combat the extreme population that they needed to take action. Thus, the Chinese government decided to implement a one child policy.
China’s attempt at making the lives of their people better simply does nothing but put them in unnecessary pain. The law is cruel and unjust and should have never been put in affect. The one child policy was established in 1979, in an attempt to regulate the out of control population increase. In 1979, when the policy was adopted, the population in China was over 950 million people. Today, in the year 2000, the population has skyrocketed to over 1.3 billion people (Gilmore np ). China is extremely overcrowded and is continuing to grow.Statistics show China’s population is growing at rate where they are eventually going to run out of places to house and feed their people.
Population expansion has been a serious problem to the human society for a long time because the resources and spaces of the Earth are limited. China, as the third largest country in the world, has one fifth of the world population. Chinese people used to believe that a larger population meant a stronger country. Therefore, from 1962 to 1980, which is the China’s baby boom, the population of China grew from 665 million to 981 million. The sharp population increase brought a series of problems, like environmental pollution, traffic congestion and shortage of water and food supplies. To reduce the population growth rate, in 1979, the Chinese government implemented the famous One-child Policy. This policy was planned as a short-term program, but it is still in use till now because of the successful prevention of about 400 million births. Meanwhile, the One-child Policy has been judged as a violation of human rights and a demographic disaster which brings gender imbalance, aging of the population and manpower shortage. On one hand, it truly lowers the birth rate and population growth rate of China. However, on the other hand, the One-child Policy has already done harm for the Chinese society. Although this policy seems to be undermining the right of procreation of millions of Chinese women, it is still the worst good idea that the Chinese government could have to keep the population down.
Industrial Over Capacity-To address industrial over capacity, China’s Prime Minister Li Keqiang said that they would “strengthen environmental protection, energy consumption, and technology standards; abolish preferential policies; absorb some excess production capacity, and strictly control increases in production capacity.” (Roberts, 2014). China will also decreases obsolete excess capacity of steel, cement and plate glass. These actions should improve productivity.
Owens, James (nd). Is Limiting the Population Growth a key Factor in Protecting the Global Environment.
China, being a country that has all eyes on them have become one of the most prominent countries in the world recently. Development within the country has by far surpass the expectations of the people all around the world. Despite all that, China face some of the world’s biggest problems for instance overpopulation. The meaning of overpopulation is the excessive population of an area to the point of overcrowding, depletion of natural resources, or environmental deterioration. And with that, the one-child policy was introduced to control the population of People's Republic of China (PRC) or more commonly known as China. However, this policy may vary slightly in different areas.
It is the responsibility of any government to provide for its population. It is due to this reason that family planning is becoming a major controversial concept in many nations. One of the most controversial population control policies is the Chinese one child family policy which was implemented in 1979. The policy was forced by the view that the increasingly growing population could evidently compromise the economic development and sustainability of the Chinese nation (Liu, Onuaha, 2005). The law dictates that each family should legally have only one child. It should also be noted that the strain that the increasing young population posed to the existing structures could have been another reason for the implementation of the one child policy.
China had solved one of their population problems, but had unknowingly created another problem from it. Back in 1976, China faced an overpopulation problem. The growth of Chinas population brought a lot of problems to the country and to its people. Some of the problems were from overcrowding and not enough resources like food and jobs to go around for everyone. This was why the government of China enacted the One-Child Policy act in order to prevent over population. The One-Child Policy was a law that allowed a family to only have one child with the incentive of economic and educational advantages to the family that obeyed this law, in many cases disobeying the law would result in a fine.
Plants are the life forms from the Kingdom Plantae. They reproduce sexually and asexually, they can reproduce with only one parent. The plant lifecycle begins with a seed. It can grow with the right amount of sunlight, water, and the air. Next, the seed sprouts and the seed grows its roots, stem, leaves, flowers and more seeds. The leaves that are formed from the seeds stem are called seedlings. As the seed slowly becomes a plant it sheds seeds and the cycle continues.
... overpopulation two countries like China and the United States may have completely different policies on this issue, but yet they both are looking at serious complications because of it. China does have a much larger issue than the United States, but it is evident that if changes aren’t made the roles may be reversed, which unfortunately wouldn’t be good for either one. So despite the different culture, government, location, or history we see that they have both come to face the same issue of overpopulation. They must work to find a good policy that balances in between not violating citizen’s moral rights, but also being realistic about what one country can and cannot allow. This is an issue that everyone is aware of even if they don’t approach it correctly, “Our object must be to bring our territory into harmony with the numbers of our population.”― Adolf Hitler.
allow them to produce a lot more but all this extra food went to waste
In order to solve the overpopulation issue, the government should pay great attention to it. Some policies, such as “ One China policy”, have already been made in China. They have already paid off. For instance, in 1994, the natural growth rate was 11.21‰, but in 1999 it was only 8.77‰ (SFPCC statics). However, China still has a long way to go in this aspect, for the overpopulation is still serious now, just like what have been mentioned in the previous paragraphs.
Over population has been a global issue for decades. Medical advances have made it possible for people to live longer and have multiple births, which are just some of the factors contributing to this social problem. Many countries have attempted to battle this issue, but none as intensely as China. China allows the government to have full control over family planning to help reduce the population. In 1979 China created a policy called the "One Child Law" which limits couples to only one child. Although the Chinese government hopes to curb the population boom and benefit society, the One Child Policy has morally questionable results, negative impacts on Chinese society, which should be changed.
