The Importance of Harry Hoveden in Making History
In making history, Brian Friel uses Hugh O’Neill to define the
characters in the play, and the way in which his actions affect them
gives the audience some characteristics to decide on the personality
of particular characters.
Harry Hoveden is obviously an important character in the play because
he plays a major part in the play, and appears in most of the major
scenes. It is also clear that he is important to O’Neill because he is
often the one person he turns to in times of crisis.
Harry is presented as a very loyal and sober character by, he serves
to balance out some of the other characters almost like a buffer. His
calm nature in times of distress or excitement contrasts with the
brash and aloof persona’s of other characters like O’Neill. As well as
stabilizing the mood in the play as presented, if the play was
reality, he would act as a soothing and calming presence to help
particularly O’Neill.

Minor characters play a very crucial role in Shakespear's Hamlet. They serve as narrators for events that occurred outside the immediate play: the Dane's ghost. Distinct contrasts are created through the usage of the play's minor characters. The reader gains new perspective on Hamlet's character when he is compared with Laertes. The presence of these minor characters can also have a direct effect on the action of the play. The actors in the play within the play are used to expose the guilt of Claudius; Hamlet then has proof of the King's crimes. The expertise use of these characters - either to exemplify good and purity, or to spread the vile corruption which permeates Elsinore - is one of the main reasons for Hamlet's success as one of the greatest plays ever written.

His intentions are to help out Philostrate, Theseus’s Master of the Revels, put on a play for Theseus and Hippolyta’s wedding. With one goal in mind, Peter Quince takes full responsibility of the play as he gives out parts in the play, rehearses the play, and even performs it in front of all the noble men and women that attended the wedding of Theseus and Hippolyta. Peter Quince’s character is a minor character whose character changes in the play to a major character because he is of importance, and he is a static character whose personality remains the same but changes as well because of his role as Prologue in the play. His character as a minor character, a character whose personality does not change, and a character that puts on a play for the Duke and Hippolyta in the woods is a character of importance throughout the entire play even though he is not considered to be a major character; his character is portrayed throughout the entire play and even in the play within in the

“O Light! May I never look on you again, Reveled as I am, sinful in my begetting, Sinful in marriage, sinful in shedding of blood!” This quote deals with two certain plays Oedipus and Antigone. Oedipus makes love with his mother and him who actually didn’t know that it was his mother and Antigone deals with two brothers which in one brother kills another just to get control of the kingdom. Although many people think that having minor characters in the play don’t have a significant role. I 'm supposed to write an essay about how the minor characters in The Theban Plays have a major role The role of minor characters has a significant role by holding everything in place, also how does it tie up together and lastly how it has a major effect on the minor characters.
