Life began in the Ocean
The Big Bang theory is currently the most prevailing theory that explains the formation of Earth roughly 13 billion years ago. Substantial scientific research and theories are in agreement that when Earth was born, conditions on Earth was harsh. Due to nuclear fusion, Earth was very hot. One theory suggest that the heat of Earth evaporates the water which forms clouds and subsequently leads to rain. As Earth cooled, gravity traps the water collected and oceans started to form. Another theory suggested that oceans were formed by comet containing frozen H2O colliding with Earth. Coupled with intense tectonic activity cause by volcanic eruptions, constant bombardment by meteorite and the absence of a protective ozone layer, the harsh conditions on Earth was incapable of supporting any life form we know today.
Due to the intense activities on early Earth, basic chemicals would have start to react with each other. Chemicals and element such as Ammonia, Phosphoric salt, light, heat, and electricity (lightning) is present during early Earth period which made life possible. Life after this phase can be easily explained through Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution. However, the unexplainable explosion of life in such a short period of time for Earth to go from absolutely no life at all to containing a wide diversity of bacteria in approximately 0.1 billion years is a mystery phenomenon that even evolution cannot explain. Till today, there have been no complete understanding of how the origin of life began. I personally feel that the second and third theory proposed are more scientific and therefore, more persuasive. However, up till more discovery has been made and more concrete evidence can be produced that not only explains the proposed theory but more importantly explain why the other theories are untrue and what exactly is happening, For example, the most recent theory proposed not only explains how the notion of life began in the land came about, it also explains why it is unlikely that life began in the ocean due to the large amount of sodium. I believe to keep an open mind on perspective. As Issac Asimov once said, “Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won’t come in.”
In 1977, a recent research by geochemists Eoghan Reeves, Jeff Seewald, and Jill McDermott at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) is the first to test a fundamental assumption of this ‘metabolism first’ hypothesis. This popular view says simple reaction emerged near ancient seafloor hot springs. These reactions presumably turned a nonliving world to a living one.
If creation is taken metaphorically, the earth could be four to fifteen billion years old. However, it is not essential which theory one believes, what matters is that God created all of it. This informs Christians that God created the universe; this is the most basic affirmation of Genesis. There is no room given for any other creative power. Through God’s spoken word, the universe was created.
As the decades pass, technological advances have enabled researchers, entrepenures and pondering minds the ability to discover more and more about every aspect of our very existence. Over the past three decades the evolutionary tree of life has been expanded at least seven times over. Major advances have been made in the area of evolution to open the eyes of many to the extensive history of the earth. For the very first time, we have tangible knowledge that life evolved and grew to become a flourishing success during the young ages of the Earth. By 3.5 million years ago life was already well advanced. Before this breakthrough no one could have thought that life occurred so amazingly early, that Earth was inhabited by a huge array of tiny life forms through t the first four-fifths of it’s existence, and no one deduced that evolution itself evolved over geologic time.
The arguments that many Young Earth Creationists make for their belief and against evolution are that fossils were created through the great Flood, the literal belief in Genesis, and that radiocarbon dating used in Evolution is too imprecise to prove that the Earth is older than 10,000 years.

How life originated on earth is a question that people have wondered for ages. One possibility that answer this brilliant question is the panspermia theory, which suggests that life on earth originated thanks to the contribution of cosmic beings that come from any point in the universe. The Origin of Life There are many theories of how life started on earth and no one knows exactly how it happened. In 1953 Stanley Miller and Harold Urey showed that amino acids could form in the early earth atmosphere. They replicated the conditions in the early world and sparked the chemical that was present which represented a lightning bolt.
Presently, the Big Bang theory is the most logical scientific explanation of how the universe began. The majority of cosmologists favor the Big Bang theory and the idea that the expanding universe had an initial, incredibly hot and dense start (Peterson 232). According to the Big Bang theory, at one point in time, more than 12 billion years ago, matter was condensed in a single place, and a huge explosion scattered matter out is all directions (“Big Bang Theory” 403). At the moment of its origin, the universe was infinitely dense and hot, but as the expansion occurred, the universe cooled and became less dense (Narlikar 12). The debris the spewed from the initial explosion became the building blocks of matter, forming the planets, stars, and galaxies (Narlikar 12). Officially, the Big Bang model is called the standard cosmological model (SCH), and it has been the most widely accepted theory of the origin of the universe since the 1960s (Rich and Stingl 1). Most astronomers are in agreement that the universe’s beginning can be traced back to 10 to 15 billion years ago following some type of explosive start (Narlikar 12). Big Bang theorists have estimated the actual bang occurred 13.7 billion years ago and was followed by an inflationary period that created time, matter, and space (Rich and Stingl 1).
Planet Earth is home to millions of species of life, including ourselves. It is unique in the Solar System because it is the only planet which is able to support a great variety of life: from basic living micro-organisms to highly sophisticated and intelligent human beings. The planet provides the necessary resources and products to support the biosphere that can support the global living organism’s population. Yet, what factors allow Earth to sustain life? Life as we recognize it requires specific conditions to exist. The most basic of these conditions include components needed by living creatures such as water, nutrients, an energy source, and the right atmosphere and climate. Humans need to breathe oxygen and can survive in moderate temperatures- not too cold and not too hot. The atmosphere is like the Earth’s blanket, keeping it warm and protected. Other planets that we know of do not have the same conditions as Earth, so if life were to be present on other planets they would be adapted to that planet’s unique environment. Living things on Earth have adapted to this planet’s atmosphere, therefore we need the specific composition of Earth’s atmosphere to survive.
