Brewing in San Diego has been a huge business. Known as the ‘Craft Beer Capital of America’, there are plenty of amazing San Diego breweries that it seems like a new brew pub is opening every week. If you are planning a beer trip in San Diego, it can be overwhelming to choose which place to start.

A Bit of History
San Diego is home to America’s reigning top breweries of the year. San Diego brewing has began since the 1940s, when they started producing huge quantities, even supplying nearly 25% of beer for the state. In 1953, production ceased in San Diego City, but not until 1987 when a group of eager local brewers revived the brewing culture of the region. Thanks to some changes in the state legislation and dedication to the art of brewing, beer were started to be introduced to the people, with a whole new array of flavors.
