There world is full of tragic heroes, each with their own reasons/characteristics for being viewed that way. Just like many things in the world,the definition of the word hero can vary.Todays modern day epic heroes do not have supernatural powers but are rather normal people who overcome obstacles in their life in an influential ways to others.Muhammad Ali is considered a modern-day epic hero due to his courage while dealing with discrimination against his faith, his acceptance to challenges, and being a person of action.
Ali is an influential tragic hero for excelling in skill, strength, and courage just like how Odysseus used strength to free his men from the Lotus Eaters. Muhammad Ali’s name before converting to muslim faith was Cassius Clay. Clay was first given the title of heavyweight champion after defeating Sonny Liston at the young age of twenty-two. Ali was physically fit and excelled in strength and skill. ( nikki excel skills strength courage 1) Muhammad Ali was a hardworking man and who trained rigorously because his chances to win the fight were low. (alex-title). Muhammad Ali was not just physically strong but mentally,Ali was driven and ambitious. Ali joined the Nation of Islam shortly after claiming his title. This was a daring decision because many Americans viewed the Nation of Islam as a threat and were frightened by them. Converting faiths was a risky choice especially for Al due to his fame and success. Clay stated "yet people brand us as a hate group. They say we want to take over the country. They say we're Communists. That is not true." Muhammad Ali frowned upon those who were prejudice against muslims. Many people falsely accuse muslims as a hate group when in reality they are just as harmless or harmful...

Muhammad Ali is considered an epic hero due to his skills displayed in the ring and the values he demonstrated outside of it. Ali is considered a modern day epic hero because he excelled in strength, accepted challenges, and was an influential person of action. Muhammad Ali had a major impact on many people. Some argue that his boxing skills were his best aspect others say his drive and determination were the most aspired. He was a courageous man who made decisions based on why he believed in something rather than what he believed. The difference between why and what is passion versus fame. He has accomplished amazing things throughout his lifetime and continues impress supportes. Muhammad Ali’s charisma and achievments are will be evitable oblivion.
