Ethics in the United States has reached an all-time low. Each new generation carries with it the latest acceptable standards for ethics and plagiarism in the educational setting. Copious studies have been, and are still being, done on plagiarism. These studies have observed cheating in many forms, as well as the concept of how plagiarism and cheating are carried out.

The United States, in their quest to compete with the rest of the world, continues to encourage students to continue their education beyond high school. The pressure that is put on these students is what drives many of them to plagiarize or cheat, to be considered for these universities and colleges. The pressure that is being put on teachers in school systems, across the nation, is trickling down to the students. These students feel the pressure that their teachers are under and, in turn, feel pressured to get the grade anyway that is possible, even if it includes cheating.

Students need to be aware of all resources that are available to ensure that no plagiarism is taking place, as well as the resources that can be used, while researching or creating, to ensure that all sources are cited correctly and credit is given where due. The morals of our country continue to slide, and the future of the United States rests in the hands of the students that enter schools daily.
