experience to go places and see things where something historical or amazing happened, or to see a view so wonderful that I cannot even grasp its beauty. When I travel I have enormous amounts of me time. It’s nice and peaceful. I can lose all my worries in the many different and beautiful places I visit.
The most enjoyable and extensive trip I have taken so far was in 2001 when I was ten; I traveled all over the USA for five weeks! Everything about the trip was enjoyable. Even getting ready was enjoyable. I had to take into consideration the multitude of different circumstances I would be in such as the weather, places I would visit, and what I would be doing. Then I assisted my mom and grandpa to pack all the other stuff we needed like food, coolers, maps, and accessories for the car. It sounds like a lot of work but, as a little kid, I immensely enjoyed helping to get ready for the trip. My anticipation of this trip was great. I could not get it off my mind. My family was the same way. Whenever I would go to the store with my mom, I would always be asking her if we needed anything for the trip. I really started to annoy her. Finally, when my family and I left I could not wait to get on to the highway, then I could not wait to get sixty miles down the road, and so on. I did not actually feel like I was on the trip until we were many hours from our house.
I visited many places in those 5 weeks but the most memorable places were The Gateway Arch, Oregon, Redwoods National Forest, Yellowstone National Park, and The Grand Canyon. The Gateway Arch is an amazing feat. It stands at its peak 665 feet tall. I had such a blast there. ... picture is worth a thousand words then the sight of these places is priceless. If you have been to these places you no doubt feel the same way I do. I will all ways remember these amazing places, and when I see a picture that tries to capture the beauty of these places that I have been too, I will see those places in my head the way I saw them in person standing on the edge of The Grand Canyon observing the Colorado River continuing to carve the canyon as it has been doing for countless centuries. With the wind flowing smoothly around me, standing inside a massive redwood tree hidden in time and safe from the world, and the cool nights and open spaces with nothing around me except a vast universe above my head. When I am on the road traveling from place to place, I do not seem to have limits. Nothing will ever be better than actually being there.
When people are asked why the travel the general answer is to experience a life different from their own. An escape from a person's normal life and to experience anew. So why when people travel do they live a more lavish life but one that is completely obtainable in their hometown. They don't experience anything different, they don't open themselves up to world and be in a new culture. Although some people share a different reason of traveling. To travel to learn and understand other cultures, to learn about themselves and what they are doing in this world. So how true is this, that when traveling to other cultures and regions it allows the traveller to experience new cultures, expand your knowledge, and learn about yourself.
"A Trip to the Moon" is considered as the first science fiction film in cinema history. Taking into account that the movie was created in 1902, Georges Melies managed to create a true masterpiece of the classic black-and-white cinematography. Scripts for most of the episodes were borrowed from the famous novels. Jules Verne's "From the Earth to the Moon" provided the image of the space capsule and giant cannon; most of the lunar episodes with blizzard, descent to the lunar crater, battle with selenites, arrival to the ocean bottom, were taken from "The First Men in the Moon", written by Herbert George Wells. The clarity and completeness of the plot, the vibrant costumes and decorations, and the special effects in "A Trip to the Moon" captured my attention and taught me about human notions about the world in the early 20th century.
We started our travels down in Columbus Ohio. The week leading up to the big move we spent at Deer Creek State park, for a family reunion, where my dad and step mom, had the chance to see everyone again, before the journey began. Over all we had taken nine days to get to our destination. First stop, Saint Louis, Missouri, we stopped to see the Gateway Arch. It was a lot bigger than I thought it would be, so of course I was pretty amazed. The first few days were our longest driving days, but sense we broke up the days, our longest day was eight hours. The second day was the worst, Oklahoma is so boring to drive through, and nothing but flat crop farms, and wind turbines everywhere you look. We drove till we got about seventy five miles from the boarder of New Mexico, And Oklahoma. We got up early and began a shorter dive to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where we went to Petroglyph National Monument, yeah it was interesting, but after you see a few hundred, they all start to look the same. The next morning we took a beautiful hike and took many pictures to capture the moment. Other than getting there, my favorite part of the trip, was Arizona, where we stayed four days in Flagstaff, one day in Holbrook, and one day in Phoenix. One of the best family trips that I have been on occurred when I was about 8 years old. My family and I were invited to go on a 4th of July camping trip to Telluride by some family friends that have 5 kids the same ages as our kids. Several other good friends were also invited to join us. We prepared our camping gear, loaded up the car and hooked up our trailer with our Polaris Ranger. The long drive to Telluride was 7 hours and it felt like it took forever because we were so excited to arrive. Even though the drive up their wasn’t fun at all, the reward was great.

A couple of years ago during one of those, on a whim after spending a few days in Arches National Park, my wife and I detoured to the snowy, icy south rim of the Grand Canyon. We journeyed toward it from the east side but got turned back at the National Parks’ gate; the road was snowed under from there on up. After retracing our steps, we traveled down to Flagstaff and spent the night, driving in my four by four truck up to the South Rim the next day. It was an eerie experience to stand on the edge of the South Rim and see only cloud; fog shrouded the canyon’s great gap, leaving us with visual doubts that anything was really there. Defeated, we hit the Visitor’s Center and gathered information so we could go back sometime in the spring or fall with weather more to our liking.
Out of all the trips I have taken, Cancun was definitely the best. It was 2013 and I was in fifth grade. I had known about the trip for weeks and I was so amped up for the plane ride, for the hotel, and especially the ocean. I was in science and the teacher was getting mad because I was distracting all the kids by jittering all over the place. Finally I heard my name called over the intercom and I leaped for joy and ran out of the classroom. From school we drove to the Iowa Airport, got our tickets and loaded onto the plane. Our first plane took us to Chicago, Illinois where we boarded a plane , at the O’Hare International Airport, departing for Cancun,Mexico. The second plane was very lengthy, I tried to sleep but I didn’t actually fall asleep
I took a trip to Colorado In July of 2015 it was the best week of my life. The best part of that week was the day that I got to spend in rocky mountain national park. It was a great experience with beautiful scenery and wildlife everywhere you looked. This trip changed everything I thought about where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do when I am finished with my schooling.

The differences and similarities in architecture and in paintings were a pleasure to witness. I enjoyed the culinary art of each of these countries as well. The way the food was presented was very artistic, almost like it is a painting. The streets themselves were works of art with the way all the cobblestones were placed. The art experienced on this trip was very insightful, it helped me to understand the different art styles of people and time eras. I feel very lucky to have had the chance to see some of the places where history was made. I feel changed for the better having been on this journey.
I stood in the town square of the small village. Like any other normal day, people were going about their day-to-day business. Old men sat on a wooden bench beneath a large tree and predicted this year’s crop. Women shared town gossip as they shopped for groceries, and children sucked on lollipops while they played along the cobblestone streets. However, unlike any other day, the whole crowd had stopped in unison and darted their eyes in my direction, their full attention on me. I heard hushed whispers as I passed by the crowd, “Americano!” “Oh mio Dio, guarda com’è alto!” I lowered my head as I thought to myself, “What the hell am I doing here? I’m in a country where I don’t know the language or the culture, and I have another nine and a half months until I go home!” I didn’t know it then, but those nine and a half months that lay in front of me would be the experience that would challenge my views and goals and help shape the person I am today.
I’m on a muddy, yellow bus coming back from camp. I'm twelve and so are you. Prior to leaving for camp, I had imagined it would be just me and three, maybe four, other boys that I hadn't met yet, running around all summer, getting ourselves into trouble. Playing games and just enjoying our summer. You know, typical boy stuff. Ultimately it ended up being me and this one girl. That's you. As long as we are still on the bus its like we are still at camp. Once we reach the pickup point where our parents would be waiting for us camp will be over.

My most memorable family vacation took place two years ago. We went to Corsica, a French island situated in the south of France right next to Italy. I remembered waking up early excited to visit this new land. Used to take long flights, I was surprised to arrive to the destination after a one-hour flight. Even though the flight was short for me, it was stressful for my mom, she has never felt secured in a plane, probably due to the fact that she is afraid of height.
