Personality: “Personality is the combination of traits that compose individuals. Our personality affects our behavior, out perceptions, and our attitudes (Lussier & Kimball, 2014, pg. 235).” It is important to understand personality in the workplace because it will determine how well your organization functions. For example, choosing an introverted person work in a large social setting would be a bad idea. The reason being introverted personality types tend to be shyer than extroverted type personalities. Extroverted type personalities tend to be more outgoing and will be more likely to engage with others. Introversion highly relates to me. I tend to work better with smaller groups or rather myself because it allows me to work to my fullest potential. After taking the Jung Typology Test, I discovered that I have ESTJ (Extroverted, Sensing, Thinking, Judging) personality type. I believe that this personality is reflective in many ways. This is what is said about people with an ESTJ personality. “ESTJs are joiners. They seek out like-minded companions in clubs, civic groups, churches and other service organizations. The family likewise is a central focus for ESTJs, and attendance at such events as weddings, funerals and family reunions is obligatory. Tradition is important to the ESTJ. Holidays, birthdays and other annual celebrations are remembered and observed often religiously by this type. The ESTJ is inclined to seek out his roots, to trace the family heritage back to honored ancestors both for a sense of family respectability and for a sense of security and belonging (Butt, n.d.).” I can easily say that this information is very reflects me perfectly. First, family is of high importance to me. Though, I would say that the general environment of my current workplace makes up for my satisfaction of my current role. Two ways I could enhance my satisfaction with my work would be to interact with the fans more and just enjoy the experience given to me. The fans are what make this opportunity great. I’ve never seen a bunch of people act so crazy over a bag of peanuts or a T-shirt. Also, just enjoy the experience will keep me satisfied for a while. Being able to watch a baseball game, live and for free is better than I had imagined. Two ways that my supervisor could enhance my satisfaction with my work would be if we received some type of monetary reward and giving me an opportunity to fully use my abilities with more challenging work.
