I wish to work at the Institute Clement Ader’s composite Lab under INSA Toulouse. My objective for an internship at ICA France is to prepare myself for the long-term goal of pursuing a career in the research and development of composite materials. I feel that an internship at ICA France will add to my experience of working on composites and prepare myself adequately for pursuing the same as my future career.
My interests lie in the field of composite materials, their production and the various fabrication processes involved during composite manufacturing and their quality control. It is possible to meet diverse design requirements by using composite materials and it also provides significant weight reduction and a better strength to weight ratio as compared to the conventional materials.
My main motivation for applying to France for an internship is the fact that France is the home to some of the world’s biggest composites manufacturing labs and industries, biggest examples being Airbus, one of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturing company and the ICA composites lab, both situ...
Internships provide students with opportunities to apply theoretical and basic knowledge gained in the classroom. During the field placement period, the agency supervisor becomes the primary teacher, aside from the clients, in the student's day-to-day learning. The supervisor is responsible for coordinates the student's overall experience by helping the student integrate the various pieces of the Field Internship. However, to make the placement, a positive experience supervisor need to be aware of student’s strengths, and learning needs to match assignments accordingly.
Composite materials have become extremely useful and since been adapted for aviation. They have been in development ever since the use of aluminum in the early 1920’s. Composites are components that are mixtures of two or more inorganic or organic compounds. One material acts as a matrix, which is the compound that keeps everything together, while the other material provides a reinforcement, in the form of fibers embedded in the matrix.
First off, I want to tell you about all the materials you work with, and all the people you will meet on this experience. However, due

I am very interested in Artist Repertory Theatre's Summer Costumes Internship. I feel I am exceptionally well suited for the position because of my background in costume production, and I am incredibly excited by the Prospect of working with ART because my theatrical aesthetic and mission aligns with the mission of ART: to create challenging, innovative theatre which compels the audience to reflect on themselves and the world around them.
..., as well as the management experience, to one day open an engineering firm, an aspiration sparked by my parents who ran their own small businesses. I hope to learn how to tackle problems associated with building structures of unorthodox yet sustainable design so that, as a structural engineer, I could bring to reality art that can endure tumultuous storms and dynamic humans. I want to build structures that in turn build the future.
The company has a 12-week paid Summer Internship Program in management or engineering and architecture for college students pursuing their associate or bachelor’s degrees. They also offer a robust 2-year Leadership Fellows Program for candidates with a master’s degrees. Fellows gain on-the-job experience in planning, finance, security operations, and human resources. Finally, their Engineering and Architecture Associates Program provides exciting career opportunities to recent college graduates holding a master’s degrees in either architecture, electronics, engineering, surveying and related majors. All career opportunities can be conveniently accessed through the company’s JoinThePortAuthority.com
As part of my studies I was required to go on placement for a month of term. I chose to go on placement this term as I thought there were more opportunities over the Christmas period. For two weeks of my placement I worked for Rocket Scenery, Because of Rockets reputation for high-quality theatre scenery. Based in Nottingham rocket scenery has 2475sq meters of workshop space which is used to create sets, storing and touring sets overseas. The aim of Rocket Scenery is to create stress free sets for persons or organisations, achieving the most demanding of set designs.
In practice, most composites consist of a bulk material (the ‘matrix’), and a reinforcement of some kind, added primarily to increase the strength and stiffness of the matrix. This reinforcement is usually in fibre form. In addition, the manufacturing process used to combinefibre with resin leads to varying amounts of imperfections and air inclusions. Typically, with a common hand lay-up process as widely used in the boat-building industry, alimit for Fibre Volume Fraction is approximately 30-40%. With the higher quality, more sophisticatedand precise processes used in the aerospace industry, Fibre Volume Fraction’s approaching 70% canbe successfully obtained.the geometry of the fibres in a composite is alsoimportant since fibres have theirhighest mechanical properties along their lengths, rather than across their widths. This leads to the highly anisotropic properties of composites, where, unlike metals, the mechanical properties of the composite are likely to be very different when testedin different directions. This means that it is very important when considering the use ofcomposites to understand at the design stage, both the magnitude and the directionof the applied
My time studying on the FDA programme has led me to pursue a career within the exhibition design industry. The work experience placement that I undertook at ‘Clearview Expo’ has helped to enforce this choice due to experiencing the client / designer input at a very personal level. I feel that this is the career path that I would like to develop within, as it allows me to fully contribute to the design industry. Upon leaving this course, I intend to sacrifice a few years interning / working for several exhibition design orientated companies, in order to gain a wealth of experience and to build a substantial portfolio of work.
This report was prepared after a 120 hours internship program during November 2013 at “TNT Lebanon”, Sin El Fil branch under the direction of Mrs. Pascale Matta.
Composite materials are materials made from two or more constituent materials with significantly different physical or chemical properties, that when combined, produce a material with characteristics different from the individual components. It can be divided into several types. We are focusing on polymer matrix composite and metal matrix composite. Polymer matrix Composite is a composite material made from a polymer resin. They are not as strong or heat resistant as metal matrix and ceramic matrix composites. Besides that, metal matrix composite is composite material with at least two constituent parts, one is a metal and the other material may be a different metal or another material. Polymer matrix composite is the most commonly used composite as it is a monolithic polymer which its process is easier.
As I sit down to write this personal statement to apply for residency at your institution, I am overwhelmed by the fact that it plays such an important part in what could be a life-altering decision for my career. I have so much to share, so many events that have transpired in my life to define who I am as a person and my goals and aspirations. Thus I am penning down my thoughts, with the utmost hope that I am able to highlight the best of what I have to offer as an individual, demonstrate my love and passion for medicine and outshine amongst the many other candidates trying to send out a similar message on why I should be selected for this position. As P.L Travers once said,” a writer is, after all, only half his book. The other half is the
After completing my foundation programme in Natural & Built Environment, I went on to study a bachelor degree in architecture at Taylor’s University. The course gave me a preview of the construction industry but I would like to expand my knowledge in the construction industry beyond design, innovation and technology. I have always had a deeper interest in urban architecture and projects of larger scale. Throughout my bachelor studies, I have developed a strong foundation in innovative thinking and problem solving. By taking up this postgraduate degree, I b...
As studying in one of the biggest entrepreneurial capital in Europe, I also wanted to experience the diverse, energetic atmosphere of the startup ventures in Amsterdam, therefore, I attended the Uprise Startup Festival in 2015. At the event, I had the chance to meet and network with a lot of talented entrepreneurs, so thanks to the great connections, which I have gained, I got a work internship opportunity at one of the exhibitor venture.
