Plastic surgery is a corrective specialty that is used for personal or medical purposes. Many people think about plastic surgery is just used for making your nose smaller or breasts bigger, when actually it is used for much more. For example, plastic surgery can also help someone who has gotten burned, by placing skin from another part of the body to the burn. Plastic surgery is primarily used for fixing themselves because they feel self-conscious or feel uncomfortable in their own skin. There are two main branches of plastic surgery, which is reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. Reconstructive surgery is mainly used if someone gets in an accident and needs a part of their body to work again. Such as if someone got their hand ran over, doctors would need to reconstruct the person’s entire hand in order for the hand to work again. The certain body part doesn’t go back to being perfect, but it manages to work for the person that received the treatment. Where cosmetic surgery is just used for more of a personal appearance thing and fixes someone’s personal imperfections.
In particular, cosmetic surgery is on the rise and the number of people who have gotten plastic surgery has gone up in the past 10 years. In 2012 a poll was taken and almost twenty eight hundred thousand women have gotten breast implants. Its seven percent less than 2011, but the number is still high. Nose reshaping has risen by four percent. For men, getting a facelift has gone up by seven percent from 2011 to 2012. During the 2013 Christmas season more women were obtaining cosmetic surgery. They were given as gifts from spouses and other family members. According to ABC News during an interview, Dr. Barry Weintraub said his ...

Patients should also be aware of the possibility of developing a mental stability once they get cosmetic surgery, so they don’t end up suffering a mental disorder around perfection. The prices with cosmetic surgery don’t just come with the initial surgery, but the upkeep as well. Doctors should also be aware of their patients’ health and make sure all the patients’ needs are met. So if a person is considering cosmetic surgery consider all the factors and angles that come with it as well.

Cosmetic surgery is one of them and becoming very popular, not because people need surgery, but because society has created the ideal woman and man and what he or she should like. Every women and a good amount of men modify their bodies to fit the image every day. Cosmetic surgery is the new hip thing going around and everyone is going to extremes in order not to fall behind. Plastic surgery itself has been around since the ancient times. As Doctors Richard Backstein and Anna Hinek state in their article plastic surgery can be traced to as far back as ancient times (2005).
Plastic surgery is defined as a procedure done to reconstruct body parts. It doesn't necessarily mean working with plastic, because the word plastic in plastic surgery is derived from the Greek word plastikos, which means ‘to mold’. (Straightdope) Many believe that a man called Sir Harold Delf Gillies did the first modern plastic surgery in 1917. During the World War I, he met a French surgeon called Hippolyte Morestin, who greatly influenced him. After carefully observing him removing a tumor,Sir Harold performed the flap surgery on a World War I soldier who injured himself badly on his face. While Sir Harold is still considered as the Father of Modern Plastic Surgery, people assume that the Indians were the first to perform plastic surgery back in 800 B.C. With this discovery, British physicians visited India to observe the native methods of plastic surgery. (Williams) Over the years, new discoveries are made, which also means that new forms of plastic surgery are constantly performed. As of now, there are various types of plastic surgery, all done on different body parts of a human. Plastic surgery is generally divided into two, reconstructive and cosmetic. ...
It is predicted that humans will come a long way throughout the 2st century, hopefully eliminating the possibility for amputees to have a disadvantaged life. 3D printing is set out to be one of the most revolutionary technologies of this decade and will continue to impress on the biological front. Thanks to the use of 3D printing, new limbs can be printed with exceptionally accuracy for a infinitesimal cost. Even in the year 2017, new limbs can be printed for less than $100 USD per person making it a cheap alternative to more “advanced” prosthetic
The possibilities 3D printing can achieve are countless. This might be the most controversial and impactful technology of the future, as Hod Lipson quotes again, “When it costs you the same amount of manufacturing effort to make advanced robotic parts as it does to manufacture a paperweight, that really changes things in a profound way”
Cosmetic surgery is essentially not a bad thing. Some people suffer facial and body injuries or are born with a deformity which can only be corrected by plastic surgery. Cosmetic surgery can also be a life saver in cases of extreme obesity. However, some people-especially young females- are becoming too obsessed with their looks and body. The quest of finding the perfect body has led many to the operating table, opting for multiple cosmetic surgeries.
Most of us don't like some aspect of our appearance, whether it's sagging eyes or excess weight in particular areas, to name a few complaints. Lately a record numbers of Americans are doing something about it by having plastic surgery. Since 1995, the number of cosmetic procedures, which range from liposuction to facelifts, has almost tripled (English 23). Is that a healthy choice-or a dangerous trend? Aging has become the field of the future for plastic surgeons whose patients have reasons not always valid in the search for youth and beauty.
Men had nearly 1.1 million cosmetic procedures, 13 percent of the total (up from 12 percent of the total in 2002). The number of cosmetic procedures for men increased 31 percent from 2002.
Cosmetic surgery is becoming a trend world-wide today because humans can never be fully satisfied in terms of looks; however, this type of surgery has many serious perils rather than some benefits that we already know.
4D printing offers the ability to make things that literally pull themselves together. The technology could also create objects that last longer than their 3D-printed counterparts and adapt to specific conditions on command. 4D printing is relay about using a 3d printer to print self requfingering programmable material. For example you have a non-living object that can change his shape and behavior over time kind like a robot but no microprocessors, in fact something that looks like a plastic. Skylar Tibet’s, the man who came up with whole idea has gone even fodder; he created a programmable sheet material. It look like a plastic, that in combination with the water it could change the shape in the cube. And the cube is just a beginning. It will be a million of shapes. It could be so useful, not just on the Earth but in the orbit as well. This idea could change the world, and living on it. Imagine you could just print your furniture. An...
Cosmetic Surgery is a great discovery that has been around for many centuries. “The history of plastic surgery origins in the early 800 B.C. when surgeons in India restored noses to persons who had them taken off as a form of punishment.” (History of Cosmetic Surgery, 2008) Many people have used over the years cosmetic and reconstructive surgery to enhance their physical appearance weather it be for health problems associated with birth defect or problems that they have developed over the years or to even alter physical appearances for instance nose jobs and tummy tucks. There are numerous types of cosmetic surgery that can be done today in the United States, over the year’s surgeons techniques have improved dramatically. There are a number of pro’s and con’s that go along with cosmetic surgery, such as the amount of recovery time and the initial cost of surgery. Statistics also show that cosmetic surgery has grown so rapidly over the years it is phenomenal people who receive cosmetic surgery goes up by the millions every year. While there can be many related health risks due to cosmetic sugary, many times cosmetic surgery is necessary and its is made more affordable than thought to be.
The technology and complex foundation of additive manufacturing (AM) or more commonly known as 3D printing is still being widely explored through trial and error processes to improve this innovative field. Consumer goods such as clothes, food, decoration, household objects and tools, fragrance and so much more has good prospect within the spectrum of AM applications. The 3D printing machine enable industrial designers, mechanical engineer, packaging designers, graphic artists, marketing staff, fashion designers, interior designers and the like to create prototypes efficiently. How is timing more efficient with AM? Time to market shrink significantly as the 3D printer help designers and engineer bring their creation to life swiftly. All matters of aesthetics and functionality can be seen and reformed for optimal quality with AM.
Ultimately, 3D printing will change our society’s manufacturing ways for the benefit of all. Businesses can reduce operating costs without sacrificing the quality of their product. This leads to potential in creativity for new products. Even better, using new technology such as the 3D printer eliminates harmful effects on the environment typical manufacturing would bring. As technology improves, it is important for the general public to have knowledge in how to use its power for a better future.
The world of cosmetic surgery is one of the largest and fastest growing industries worldwide, bringing in billions of dollars each year with cosmetic procedures that both men and women are having, in order to improve their looks, self esteem, and fulfilling societies norms and values. Cosmetic surgery has been accepted in certain cultures, this is a way of expressing who the person is. In my opinion cosmetic surgery is a good thing for individuals to pursue. As cosmetic surgery improves mental and physical well being, cosmetic surgeries through media, as cometic surgeries are improving health related issues, and creating opportunities for people.
There are so many accidents that happen on a daily basis, some we cant control hence the word accident. But these accidents can leave people with damages to such pieces of their body that almost can never be healed. But Cosmetic surgery gives these people a new look on life. Cosmetic surgery can sometimes be viewed in such a negative light but in a world with so much negativity this procedure can sometimes save peoples life and give them hope in such ways of just allowing them an opportunity to continue their lives. In a article a young girl was in a terrible accident where she was hit by a metal baseball bat only to have her face reconstructed Dr. Posnick and his team of amazing surgeons put my face back together with one surgery, a titanium metal plate and three titanium screws. He saved more than my face, he saved my life. A lot of times these accidents are caused by more then just in cars, or just being in the wrong place at the wrong time though these accidents can cause a lot of deaths sometimes lives are spared but not with a bit of injury that can all but be repaired. But if you were
Plastic surgery has some positives though other than just a confidence boost. It helps people born with birth defects to lead a normal life. It also helps to restore accident victims to how they looked before the accident took place. Botox has multiple uses besides taking away those unwanted wrinkles. It helps to cure severe migraine headaches, excessive sweating, urinary incontinence, muscle spasms, tennis elbow, Bell’s palsy, squint, eye twitching and essential tremor (WebMD). Isn’t it amazing how something that is usually used for someone to enhance their beauty
