Overcoming my Asthma and Completing a Marathon

It all started when I was first born, “ Mr. And Mrs. Sadler I’m sorry to inform you but your son has asthma.” After that my life was going to become a roller coaster of medication, emergency room visits, and life long lessons along the way. There are many life long messages that I could explain to people, doing the right thing comes with consciences, being nice doesn’t always get you first but you feel better about yourself, and probably coming to the most important one in my thought would be, Never let someone tell you that you can’t do something because if you put your mind to something than you can accomplish anything.

Only one more day, tomorrow would be a life changing event, because tomorrow is the once a year Prince Of Wales Marathon. After training for so many months, coming down with pneumonia, and for waiting, the day was almost here. It was a nervous but exciting feeling knowing that tomorrow I would be running 26.2 miles, wow, just that number is nerve racking to the naked eye. Training to this day wasn’t easy either, people said I was obsessed over the idea of running a marathon, and I was taking it to serious because I wasn’t expected to do much in it or finish. The definition of obsessed though is, to preoccupy or fill the mind of someone continually, intrusively, and to a troubling extent, how can me wanting to do my best be a troubling extent? Now for people not expecting much from me, I can some what see how people could, because of my asthma, my height, and I just starting feeling better from a week long pneumonia.

...ment, a tear rolled down my face, and a smile broke out over it. As I broke the ribbon, I lefted my arms high in the air showing that I had done it, and then laid down in the grass. My mom and dad came over to me, helping me up, and gave me a hug.
