Organizations Created to End Child Hunger in the World

Did you know that the amount of time it takes for a person to brush their teeth is the same amount of time it takes for 10 children to die of hunger (the hunger project)? Although many organizations have been doing their best to decrease that number, child hunger still remains an ongoing issue throughout the world.
During the 1960-1980’s many countries thought child hunger had been solved with the “Green Revolution”; a method created by Latin America and Asia. The ideology of the “Green Revolution” was to enhance staple crop and alter the ways of farming. Although the “Green Revolution” did save thousands of lives, due to an increase in population, diminishing of natural resources, and climate changes, the “Green Revolution” was incapable of aiding 239 million starving people in Sub-Saharan Africa (Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation).
Many organizations have been created to end child hunger throughout the world. Each organization believes they have the most accommodating method. Different methods used to end child hunger include agriculture development, gender equality, education, and food distribution.
The primary reason there is so much child hunger in Sub-Saharan Africa is due to the fact that the land is too dry to be able to properly grow produce. Any land that has the ability to produce a vast amount of crops is under the control of a rogue government (Conjecture Corporation). The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation believes that by developing new technologies, more products will be able to be cultivated on non arable lands (Agriculture Development).

...as entitled 80,000 women to become apart of local councils. The Hunger Project has ensured that their voices are heard and acknowledged. The Hunger Project plans on extending the Women’s Leader Workshop to other countries (Empowering Women as Key Agents).
According to Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.” In Sub-Saharan Africa, 33 million primary school-aged children do not attend school (Achieve In Africa). Education is not only vital for creating a healthier community, but it also teaches the children how to solve problems (Asante Africa).
Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) believe that education is the key to ending child hunger. ADRA administers a primary education for children, literacy and numeracy guidance for adults, secondary education, teacher training, and business education (What we do).
