A hero is a person that is brave, loving, dedicated, and inspirational. Oprah Winfrey displays all of those qualities and is therefore a hero. Winfrey is a brilliant talk show hostShe has been a philanthropist for many years, and continues to inspire people all over the world. She is known by so many people around the world for all that she has done . Winfrey uses her fame for the better good of people making her a true hero.
Oprah Winfrey is a philanthropist that has done so much for so many charities and different people around the world. Jones said, “Ms. Winfrey has donated more than $50 million to charity, according to the Chicago Sun Times, landing her a spot on last year's prestigious Chronicle of Philanthropy as one of America's top donors” (Jones). That makes Winfrey is a hero because she can give 50 million dollars to a charity and accept really nothing in return. Jones said, “Donations of Clothing, Books, a School Are just a Start to Her Philanthropy” (Jones). The contributions she makes to charities and people are the reasons so many people respect her. She is so passionate about giving back to others that struggle in life so they don’t have to go through what she did growing up and that is incredible. Winfrey makes people aware of things happening around the world and gives people an opportunity to help those in need. With all that she has done for charities and different people she deserves to be recognized as a hero.
Winfrey has accomplished so much and achieved so many things. Hankin said, “Oprah received the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award at the 2002 Emmy Awards for her services to television and film” (Hankin). Winfrey has inspired people with all she does for people around the world. Oprah Winfrey is a true hero that continues to inspire people with all she has done and all she does for so many people.
