Marcus Brutus: A noble senator who kills his friend just because of power. Julius Caesar: A dictator who just wants more and more power. Caius Cassius: A jealous senator who is willing to manipulate Brutus into murdering Caesar. William Shakespeare, in his play Julius Caesar, showed how gaining power can lead to jealousy of others though murder and war.

The noblest Roman in Julius Caesar was Marcus Brutus. Brutus was a noble senator . However, he was getting involved with the conspirators against Julius Caesar. “Well, Brutus, thou art noble / Yet I see thy honorable mettle may be wrought / From that it is disport” (I.ii.308-309). He was beginning to think that Caesar was gaining too much power for Rome. Even though Brutus was starting to think differently of Caesar, Caesar still trusted him because he was noble. Cassius was manipulating Brutus into going against Caesar. Caesar knew nothing of the senators hating him. “Caesar doth bear me hard, but he loves Brutus” (I.ii.313).
