Through the study of the Peruvian society using articles like “The “Problem of the Indian...” and the Problem of the Land” by Jose Carlos Mariátegui and the Peruvian film La Boca del Lobo directed by Francisco Lombardi, it is learned that the identity of Peru is expressed through the Spanish descendants that live in cities or urban areas of Peru. In his essay, Mariátegui expresses that the creation of modern Peru was due to the tenure system in Peru and its Indigenous population. With the analyzation of La Boca del Lobo we will describe the native identity in Peru due to the Spanish treatment of Indians, power in the tenure system of Peru, the Indian Problem expressed by Mariátegui, and the implementation of Benedict Andersons “Imagined Communities”.
It is my intention to investigate the relationship with Pablo Escobar and the development of Colombia as this is a very controversial and wide topic that covers many aspects regarding the economic growth of Columbia. The topic "changing communities" can be interpreted many ways for this topic, changing communities shall be measured in economic development, change in culture and geographic development. In this research paper I am going to discover Pablo Escobar's relationship with the development of Colombia as in the early stages of Escobar's reign over Columbia and the drug world he was coined the nickname "the robin hood of Colombia" for his millions of US dollars
Gandhi once said “An eye for an eye and the whole world is blind.” This is true in most circumstances but there are exceptions. By comparing acts of nonviolent civil disobedience with acts of violent civil disobedience it is apparent that force or violence is only necessary to combat violence but never if it effects the lives of the innocent. A recurrent theme in each of these examples is that there is a genuine desire to achieve equality and liberty. However, one cannot take away the liberties of others in order to gain their own. Martin Luther King Jr. believed that political change would come faster through nonviolent methods and one can not argue his results as many of the Jim Crow laws were repealed. Similarly, through nonviolent resistance Gandhi was able to eventually free India from the rule of Britain. It is true that sometimes the only way to fight violence is through violence, but as is apparent, much can be said of peaceful demonstrations in order to enact change. Thus, it is the responsibility of we as individuals to understand that nonviolence is often a more viable means to an end than violence.
The subject that I have chosen for my essay is: ‘Maras in Central America. Analyse its social causes and consequences’ – a gang that operates on territories of Central and Latin America. During writing my essay I want to analyse the phenomenon of how a not that big community of Salvadoran young immigrants has been transformed into one of the most dangerous and the largest gang groups in the United States and Northern Central America in about 30 years. Also I would like to analyse and present social causes and consequences of Las Maras. The past 20 years has been an escalation of crime in Central America. Surprisingly not in Colombia but in Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala are one of the most dangerous countries in the world. According to
In this part I recognize that Colombian culture was really totally different from Bolivian culture or Peruvian culture, it was different from the Southern South America conception. The behavior of the people was really different. Behavior is “Human behavior can be observed and described and includes all of the things we do — ways we use our bodies, all social
Cesar Chavez writes an essay to argue that violence is a useless form of getting one's way and instead people should approach things with non violence. To strengthen his argument Chavez uses rhetorical strategies such as name calling and parallel structure. As a result ridiculing the use of violence so anyone who uses it self-classifies as ridiculous. Aswell, using parallel structure to identify all the good that comes from non violence.
Nonviolence is not only a peaceful action but it clears the view of the person, making their goal more reachable. Cesar claimed that “nonviolence is more powerful than violence.” Cesar uses the concept of America’s “conscience” and their “yearning for justice.” He uses the argument of injustice throughout history. He says, “Who
Violence has been recorded down in our history from the dawn of time; it seems that in the past, violence was the answer for all disputes. Though time has progressed, “violence has been in decline … and today we are probably living in the most peaceful moment of our species’ time on earth” (Pinker). This decline in violence helps illustrate that mankind has been able to change, by dealing with conflicts in a peaceful manner, for violence is now not the first option to deal with issues. This turnaround also shows an evolution in mankind’s thinking process and ethics. Mankind now has understood value in living; thus, this has allowed for peace to play an integral part in society’s culture today.
...s toward peace”. Proving that being pacifist does not necessarily mean that war is unacceptable, it can also stand for bringing peace by a different point of view.
Mohandas K. Gandhi, a great Indian philosopher, wrote the essay “My Faith in Nonviolence”. His essay focuses on the use of nonviolence means on overthrowing the British rule of India. Gandhi’s main claim on this essay is that love is the higher law of life and that “every problem lends itself to solution” (p. 203) , if we followed that law.
It was in the mid eighteenth century when the idea of independence began in Ecuador. Ideas of Enlightenment began to spread throughout Europe and slowly leaked into parts of Ecuador. The Enlightenment embodied ideas of nationalism, individuality, equality and most importantly freedom. During this time the Spanish economy was also falling apart. With all this going on it seemed like the perfect time to fight for independence. However, no action was made until the Criollos expressed their displeasure with the current regime. The Criollos were people of pure spanish descent, but were born in the “new world”. They began to hate all the people who came directly from Spain because of all the privilege they received, so in 1809 they began to fight for independence.
Bolivia is one of the most beautiful countries you will ever see. Bolivia is located in central South America. “The nation of Bolivia is the rooftop of South America.” ( Dipiazza 4) There is so much to learn about Bolivia, with unique landforms, interesting climate, difficult economy, distinct culture and marvelous facts.

World peace is an idea that is dreamt of by some and belittled by others. This essay breaks down the factors which make world peace unrealistic and impossible and refutes that evidence with ideas that support the possibility of world peace. The essay concludes with the ideas that peace can coexist among other religions, standard living circumstances
