Fire is an important moment in my own personal history. Fire can be very useful as it is used for cooking, giving light, keeping warm, and everything relating to living; however fire can also be very harmful which can cause death. Using fire was almost like walking on a high wire. Fire was once a mystery to me. As a child, I saw people used fire once, so I thought I knew enough to use it safely; but eventually everything was going wrong; as Alexander Pope once said, “A little learning is a dangerous thing”.
The first time I used a lighter as a child, it went badly. I was about five years old when my parents and I were planning to go for a wonderful two days vacation in China. The night before our vacation, my father was showing me how to turn on a lighter and put his hand under and below, which the fire didn’t burn at all. Suddenly, my mother called my father to have a talk; but he forgot to put the lighter on the high shelf as he went away. After my father was gone, I picked up the lighter from the ground and was trying to do the same thing what he did, but I burned one of the finge...
