Elements of Management
The process of management consists of four major elements that are interrelated. Leading, controlling, planning, and organizing are considered these four elements (Hill & Jones, 2011). Using each of these elements, the strengths or weaknesses of the company will be evident. A strength of an organization refers to potential competitive advantage or the distinctive competency that is inherent to an organization. This is in regards to organizational operations. A Weakness of an organization refers to any aspect of the company that needs to be improved upon (Hill & Jones, 2010).
Leading
One of the most important management aspects is leadership. Leadership has proven to be a strength within the NTCA, with Dr. Joe DiDuro as the leader of the organization. His strong approach to marketing has ensured success of the organization. He ensures the reputation of the organization by making sure that each provider using the NTCA name is providing state of the art testing and treatment services to their patients that is within the standard that Dr. Joe DiDuro has provided.
In order to be an effective leader, one must create a vision. There is much strategic planning that goes into the creating of that vision. The vision must be created by an influential leader who is capable of creating a direction and persuading others that his vision must not be only understood, but believed in. Dr. Joe DiDuro has accomplished this within the NTCA. The main goal of the organization is to create a world free of neuropathy (NeuroTCA, 2011).

To inspire and influence others, a leader must possess many skills and abilities. As motivational speaker Peter Northouse, states, “a leader should be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant” (Northouse, 2013) Moving an entire group of individuals toward a singular goal is a considerable undertaking. Without effective communication skills and a clear vision of what needs to be accomplished, one will feel like they are trying to herd cats rather than leading.
